Today we are looking at my pick for best all-round mouse of 2021. As someone who spends most of their day working from MacBooks, I really enjoy using the excellent built in trackpad. That said, there are instances where I prefer to use a mouse, or better yet use both the trackpad and mouse together to maximise productivity and comfort. Here’s what I look for in the best all-round mouse: good ergonomic design, has to be wireless and rechargeable, customisable (programmable buttons), provide good feature to price value. These are the key requirements, any additional features are nice to haves. With this in mind, my recommendation for the best all-round mouse for 2021 is the mouse I’ve been using for the past 2 years, it is the MX master from Logitech. Logitech currently sells the latest version of the MX master, the MX master 3. This retails for 100 dollars. The MX master however is currently available new from amazon for almost half the price at 57 dollars. The MX master may not be the newest model in the line, but it does have the key features that make the MX master series so great. So how does this mouse stack up? First design. The MX master feels great to hold, the rounded design naturally curves to your palm. I have used this mouse day in day out and it remains comfortable to use, putting no unnecessary strain on the wrist or arm. The MX master is wireless and can be connected to up to 3 devices using Bluetooth or 1 device using the included wireless USB A adapter. The mouse has a built in rechargeable battery. Unfortunately it does charge via the included micro USB cable. If you want USB C you should get the MX Master 3. That said the battery life is great, I only need to charge the mouse around every 2 months with daily use. This brings us to the mouse’s main selling point: customisability. The MX master features 2 scroll wheels. 1 is for vertical scrolling, featuring what Logitech calls smart speed-adaptive scroll wheel. What this means is, depending on how fast you scroll the wheel will scroll normally or scroll freely. Allowing you to zoom through pages very quickly. The wheel can also be locked in either mode. The 2nd scroll wheel found on the left side, is used for vertical scrolling. This I use all the time, especially when editing in Final Cut, allowing you to scroll through your timeline straight from the mouse. The 2nd wheel works well, I do wish it was a bit larger and less stiff, making it easier to scroll faster. In addition to the scroll wheels, the mouse has 4 customisable buttons. Here is how I use them. First on the top, I use this button to switch between scrolling modes for the main scroll wheel. On the side next to the 2nd scroll wheel, there is a set of buttons that I use for volume up and down. Finally the button I use most, the big thumb button that I use for mission control, allowing me to see my open windows with one click. This brings us to the last point, feature to price value. Of course if you are looking for a basic mouse you can find one for 10 us dollars. However if you are looking for a tool that can be incorporated into your daily workflow and one that brings valuable features to the table, for this price the MX master is by far your best option. This makes the MX master my 2020 recommendation for best all-round mouse.

Just bought one used off of Facebook!
Nice and concise vid, subscribed (and ordered the mouse) 🙂
Logitech should pay you man
. im getting this tonight
Is this good for gaming
got it for 20 bucks !
I think it’s tooo big, I am used to be on Photoshop/Illustrator /Autocad 24/7 and I can’t get used to it, I mean, I have to make a real effort to move it -just exagerating but it’s real -, and I think that makes me lose time in some way, I don’t know how to explain. I think it’s pretty cool but I don’t know how to handdle it.
Thank you for the video. Is there a big difference between this one and the Mx Master 3?
In 2021 there is MX 3 …
Underrated video and straight to the point
how about for lefthanded?
who also ordered the mouse at 1 minute
How do you nit have more subscirbers! Quality video mate
great video skills really showcases the mouse well! I have the MX anywhere 2, its great for portability but a little small for at home…its on sale right now for $60 Canadian (40 USD), and this video sold me on it, thanks
Thank you for your video!!! I am looking for the mouse for laptop. Should i take the MX or spend more money to get the higher version? Thank you have a good day!
How does the battery hold up after a few years? I heard somewhere that the battery isn’t replaceable
Great vid my man! Incredible production quality.
im using the same mouse for 11 years straight now. it has so much dead skin and worn out sides that i need an upgrade. thinking about the master 2s since it’s cheaper than the master 3
Oh yes, all indications were that this mouse was compatible with Mac ,,, my new Mac has Catalina as the operating system this mouse WILL NOT WORK ,, with Catalina although the information supplied says that it will.
I don’t care for the mouse and keyboard that Apple supplied with my new Mac although they are a quality product and work perfectly. I decided on a different keyboard so I chose a Logitech K750, what an absolute piece of junk. I’m very surprised that Logitech would affix their name to such a cheap product.
The worst part of all with this junk keyboard, no caps lock indicator, seriously you have to guess as to whether the cap lock is on or off. First time ever have I ever come across a keyboard that didn’t have a simple function like a cap lock indicator.
Great video thank you!
It’s a very easy-to-understand video. I am editing a video using MX Master 2S. So it’s easy to use. I’ll come back again! With love from Japan 🙂
Great review. This is what is needed.
