I bought the iPad mini 5 when it released in March 2019. Love it.
Only thing I’m doing different with the mini 6 when it comes out is getting the larger storage option. Will be going 256gb for sure, not 64.

A mini 4, 5 Smart Cover won’t work with the 1, 2, 3 due to the arrangement of the magnets
for $400 it should have a good battery they say 10hrs but its only 8. my android for $180 it has a 18 hour battery life. so when the android dieds in 2 years its worth it to get another one when i dont have to charge the battery 3 times a day.

Thanks for this. I have a 3rd gen Mini which I love but the OS system isn’t with new apps. The 6th generation is too expensive and doesn’t have the hole for headphones which I use a lot when watching UTube. I just bought a refurbished 5th generation so now I know what’s on it. I still have a working 2nd generation one that I read from and has long battery life. I’m 78 and have arthritic wrists so the small size is perfect for me. Not concerned about the camera or no USB port and may not even buy the pencil.

I just bought this update for my mother since she loves this device (had the iPad4). That said.. getting the feeling that Apple doesn’t care about iPads too much since the brand new model looks 10 years old. Steve Jobs would’ve never allowed that.

iPadOS 14.5 runs well on it. Multitasking works as promised. I was waiting for an iPad Mini 6 but it didn’t get announced in the latest Apple event. No regrets in buying this over the 10.2 inch base iPad. Better screen and front camera that’s great for Zoom calls. Now I’m hoping they release an iPad Pro Mini or iPad Mini Pro or whatever they call it hahahaha
I would like to give apple my money on this, it’s not over priced, and they didn’t change it for no reason, it still has a home button, a headphone jack, and a good price

Apple is definitely improving the productivity even of the small format iPad like Mini 5 and the A12 Processor with a Retina screen is a great upgrade! Even though the design of the tablet is outdated, the performance is awesome! I have been using my iPad Mini 4 since 2015 and it’s truly great for working, web-browsing and even gaming for all the Apps from the App Store! The compact tablets are a great choice for the specific type of a user! Thanks for the great Tech review, Verge!
No USB-C, that’s ok. But atleast give a magnet for the pencil. And those bezels! Oh Common!!

Anyway, the Apple Pencil on this is in a horrible position and it doesn’t look portable. The size is a respectable feature, I could be able to fit it in my everyday bag. I was looking or a small portable iPad compatible with Apple Pencil and multitasking. Before I bought it, I wanted to watch a couple of reviews to see what people think of the iPad mini 5. This review totally rocked and it was the bee’s knees. Keep up all the great work. You guys work so hard to create this video! Hope you continue creating content! I definitely know where to go if I’m looking for a good iPad review! 👍🏻
I’d buy it if the design changes
I have an 11 iPad pro and a 12 mini phone. I got the iPad mini cellular cause I use it for work and it does all I need. I use my phone for.. well phone stuff. My iPad pro stays at home for Netflix and serious browsing. The mini is a great little tablet and the perfect size for work apps. Light and easy to store. What’s not to like.
