After seeing some examples i conclude that a red optima battery and a wall-charger is the way to go,especially when i want the bench to handle 3000watts.

Ok, so my radio has ONLY a black wire, other than the wires for the speakers, I can’t find a red or yellow wire at all. The radio is a factory radio from an 01 dodge Dakota, do I just use the black wire for the power source?

Great video. Very informative and we’ll articulated. I’m putting a stereo on my tool cart at work and have been trying to find a cheaper (space efficient and $$ efficient) way to power my head unit other than an expensive converter an I like the one you show. Also, if you don’t mind; what was the song you had playing?

Wouldn ‘t it be good to use some AlNiCo fullranges with a car radio?
They are efficient, they don ‘t need a lot of power and, in a proper enclosure, they should have enough bass.

Pardon my ignorance but, are you using the 348w power supply to run the radio or are you using the "what looks like a lap top power supply" for the whole experiment?

  14. Jackson Pollard on October 12, 2020 at 3:58 pm

What would happen when you unplug it

Hi again I solved my problem and haven’t solved it so the good thing my radio is not faulty it works very good only when I use the USB CD or fm radio but when I plug the aux into my phone it only players music at max volume and its is very quiet and sound very bad so I don’t know what to do

  24. Jim Barnhart on October 12, 2020 at 4:30 pm

Are you using a typical car antenna in your house? Or, something that will do a better job of picking up stations? Is the antenna also inside the house?

  25. DIY Audio Guy on October 12, 2020 at 4:32 pm

Small mistake in the video: The yellow wire is constant power, and the red is ignition (i.e. turn on).

Here is the power supply use to connect the boom box: https://youtu.be/-b8X__GHRtY
