Hey Rick, Im doing an outdoor prom on a football field for about 300 kids. Will 2 RCF ART 732 tops and 2 RCF 708 AS subs be enough power? Btw I love and appreciate all your vids. Thank you!

  2. mghattendorf on September 18, 2021 at 11:45 pm

This is a great video but you forgot to add one thing that can derail this whole video…..people, and drunk people at that. I did a wedding where I lugged my SRX’s into it thinking they would be plenty. Well 200 drunk LOUD MF’ers roll in pushing 94 decibels just talking, no shit 94 Db! I had to literally scream into my mic all night to make announcements it was a shit show. They put me in a corner with tables in front of me so I couldn’t go to 11 on the volume. Plus trying to crank out 110 Db was not feasible with the SRX setup. I needed my RCF arrays……

  3. _ gUrU _ on September 18, 2021 at 11:46 pm

fun fact I did a party of 200 people indoor with just two medium-type tops and there was enough sound using them at half volume

  4. Pedro Abreu on September 18, 2021 at 11:46 pm

    hi Rick
have you already eard HK POLAR 12?
I’m thinking about buying it and analyzing the specifications is a very good system, in my opinion the best of its kind
    What do you think?

BRO! I have $1000, looking to purchase my first PA system for Karaoke and DJ sets in a venue of about 100-150 people. Which rig should I get?

  8. minnesotajack1 on September 18, 2021 at 11:49 pm

The best answer is usually 12” tops and an 18” sub.
Get jbl prx if you can
    If not, get EONs
SRX is not worth the price increase to the majority of people

That set up will pretty well take care of 90% of the people watching this.

Thanks bro cause I was wondering about speakers

  15. mixedbruhnmd on September 19, 2021 at 12:03 am

Rolled with QSC’s for years! K10’s for small gigs and ceremonies.. K12’s for most weddings/larger events. I upgraded to the K12.2’s and regret it! The sound was just not as “full”… legacy 12’s are hard to find. What’s the go to “catch all” speaker that’s comparable to the K12. Considering a line array system.

  16. Charlie McKellips on September 19, 2021 at 12:05 am

So this might make me sound kinda like an idiot, but I bought a set of Alto TS315’s to use if the weather is crappy, and I actually think they sound as good as my PRX812’s.

  17. trinjaminternational on September 19, 2021 at 12:05 am

Good Vid, list is missing QSC KS118 which are incredible Pro Sub Woofers

    Thank you

  19. FernEntertainment505 on September 19, 2021 at 12:06 am

Rick you have done reviews on the Mackie lines.where would you put SRM series tops? Our local guitar center does not have any series higher the thumps, zlx, or the eon’s. Most weddings for me range between 125-175 people both inside and outside. I am looking at pairing SRM 15" with the DRM 18" subs. Thanks for any information.

i kept skipping and you kept blah blah blahing and never let us hear what anything actually sounds like. this is the kind of bait and switch youtube video i hate. thumbs down. i came here to listen to speakers, not you talk about them.

  25. John McLaughlin on September 19, 2021 at 12:13 am

Curious what your thoughts are on live stereo. Do you guys run your systems in stereo? Sometimes? Always? Never? Why or why not. Cheers!

Also, your thoughts on powered vs passive speakers. I’m always looking for the BEST sound result. So I want to put together components that will most likely result in the best overall sound quality. The best systems I have heard almost always use passive speakers with high quality power amplifiers. Has that been your experience? I realize that powered speakers are handy, but I tend to think that if you want really good quality power, you’re much better off selecting that separately.

  26. The Tirados guns and football on September 19, 2021 at 12:15 am

I have 2 yamaha dxr 15s and they do well. Thinking of buying thier 18 inch powered subs next

  27. Julio Garcia on September 19, 2021 at 12:15 am

Just know, the intro was so crazy I LEGALLY had to leave a like. Super long time subscriber and fan, great seeing you grow broski 🙏

  28. Brian Koffi on September 19, 2021 at 12:16 am

Guys keep in mind that it’s very easy to overdo things at weddings. When I first started out I used to bring big systems and when I got there I often discovered that the venue or the crowd did not want to get blasted out of the place. Often my systems were overkill. I learned that it’s better to just bring enough.
That also allowed me to play solo without an assistant since the setup was easier and lighter. So now I use an RCF Evox 8 and will sometimes bring my 15 inch sub. The Evox gets the job done at weddings and bdays of 100 or even 150 guest. The way that I play I like to push bass so I like to bring that sub.
It would be cool to have an 18 inch sub or two but now the setup turns into a 2 man gig.
I should mention that I push the Evox to it’s max with my crowds of 100 to 150.

  29. dj unnu on September 19, 2021 at 12:19 am

Hy Rick! Nice videos. I’m following you for some while. Question: 2 The Box, DSP 15“ tops, and 2 The Box 18" woofers should do an 300 people weeding in a medium to large room? What’s your idea? Keep up! Nice videos man

  30. non trick pony on September 19, 2021 at 12:19 am

I’ve got a sub in my car and wanna add a big speaker with it in the back so I can park up for DIY events and some local spots. It’ll be outside and be anywhere between 50-200 people and it’s possible for me to stop in a railway tunnel.

    Any suggestions?

I have a lot of space I have an imported Nissan Z11 look at the boot space which opens like a door not a hatch.

I want it big and loud.

  31. Im Matac on September 19, 2021 at 12:20 am

Can you help me? I need speakers for rave partys, myb 100 people. What should i buy?

  32. Eric Talbott on September 19, 2021 at 12:20 am

Why don’t you include the Yamaha DZR series? They definitely hang with JBL SRX any day of the week.

  33. Stoner 916 on September 19, 2021 at 12:21 am

I’m experimenting with a EXTRMELY modular and portable setup where I have MANY speakers that run on lifepo4 batteries and also can run lighting due to each having an inverter. I have 4 sets put together. They each consist of a 10 inch sub on 900w RMS and a 6.5 inch woofer, and two 4 inch mids(200w RMS). Each one seems to be good for up to 100 people. the setup actually doesn’t consist of a single PA speaker at all and people LOVE it.

  34. charlie renegade on September 19, 2021 at 12:21 am

    Very kind thank you

  35. Vinicius Araujo on September 19, 2021 at 12:22 am

  39. Jose Fernandes on September 19, 2021 at 12:28 am

RCF TTL 6A anytime, over all of these!

  40. Andrew Takacs on September 19, 2021 at 12:28 am

OP, I’m not sure if you can answer this for me, but I’m looking for either a PA system or something like a JBL Partybox to use as speakers for an outdoor projector for the occasional movie night. Do you have any suggestions?

I have an RCF Evox 8 and just ordered an Evox 8 JMix. I sing as I DJ so I use a QSC K10 as floor monitor.Combined weight is just a little over 100 lbs.Talk about portability. Can’t wait to use the built in mixer. Now I can remove my E.Q.,Sonic Maimizer. The Soundcraft mixer from the rack.Considerably lighter.Have two yorkville subs to add for larger crowds over 250.
