Never select the i7 option on dual core notebooks. This will do nothing to performance, increase the cost, and decrease the battery life. i7 options make sense in the quad core 15 inch models. the macbook 13 is meant to be an i5 machine if you want the battery life and dare I say ‘affordability’ 😛 –> free 300 odd dollars ‘discount’ right there haha

They also give the same discount to military (active, retired and former members). I ordered 2 of these for my teenage kids and used the military discount last week. Hopefully Apple will go back to requiring Student ID . Too many folks use this info to cheat Apple out of profit – this will certainly cause these benefits to be discontinued. It’s a nice gesture by Apple – but unfortunately abused too often.

Just bought one here in the UK. Apart from the discount on the price of the machine I also got FCPX at a 30% discount and they added 5 extra apps for free inc. Motion 5 and others. Being in education has some advantages. Thank you apple.
