Home theater setup vs Sound Bar which is better I have used both so in this video I share my experience and let you know what are the advantages by going with a traditional AVR setup for Home theater vs Soundbar setup and the different kinds of soundbar that you get in the market.

    What’s meant by ARC functionality for the TV as you mentioned? Regular arch and E arch for sound bar? Please elaborate on that too

    unless you have a dedicated room for home theater, dont buy home theater systems because wifes and mothers like to relocate
    things a lot

    My Samsung smart tv Netflix only has 5.1 output.. Not Dolby Atmos

    My question: If I play Netfliex 5.1 content on dolby atmos sound bar with only sound bar and sub woofer ( no rear speaker). Is it effective?
    Or
    Dolby atmos soundbar is not that effective at playing 5.1 content?

    Hi Ranjit,

    I am planning to get 85" QLED(2021 Q70A) and a matching sound bar to have home theatre setup in my lounge space.

    My lounge size is 12.5 foot depth, width is 10.5 foot and ceiling height is 7.9 foot. I wish to have 4 seats in a row.

    Could you please advise on choosing between Home theatre soundbar samsung HW-Q900A and Q870A(2021). Both are in same price the range.
    Q900A has 7.1.2 channel sound without rear speakers.
    Q870A has 5.1.4 channel sound with wireless rear speakers.

    Could you please suggest me to choose the better soundbar from the above, considering my room space, TV size and seating capacity.

    Hi Geekyranjit,
    Hope you are doing great!
    I would like to know your opinion. Actually I am planning to change my existing home theatre setup. At present I’m having Sony BDV – E3200 5.1 Home theatre system, which includes lots of wiring stuff and that is very much annoying.
    Now I wanna buy a sound bar system with Dolby Atmos sound. I have selected two sound bars –
    1. JBL Bar 9.1
    2. Samsung 9.1.4
    Both are coming with Dolby Atmos support. I can spend over 1 lakh but wanted to get best Dolby Atmos experience.
    Could you please suggest me for which one should I go? Or else, I would love to have your recommendation on more products which is available in the market. All I need is crisp sound with good Dolby Atmos experience.

    the huge gap of performance between sound bar and AVR system is to be taken into consideration, but you need to take into equation HT system with wireless satellite speakers. One cannot replace the surround sound you get with speakers….so please check options for HT systems with wireless speakers and then you can provide comparision between three…i am sure it will get down to cost then….!

    I rather have a cheaper home theater than expensive soundbar. While front sounds were better on expensive soundbar, rear illusion just wasn’t there. Even cheap LG home theater with proper speakers at the back was just more immersive and directional.

    Every wife has problem with wire for home theater and with so many speakers.. I hv give up my sony dz 350 5.1 set up 😏
