As a recovering audiophile myself, and one who loves the sound of British studio monitors (I’ve never bothered to replace my Spendor Preludes), I was really surprised by the quality of the Rokit KRK 6 powered studio monitors. I found them when upgrading my home studio, and I was just blown away by the detail. The 5s get all the press, but I kept coming back to the 6s. (Long ago, when I was but a cub audiophile, I learned that when you keep coming back to a component, that’s the one for you.) I haven’t regretted that purchase yet.
Edit: I should note that they are UGLY. But so are a lot of very expensive components..

That andover, what a bad idea for a product. Lets take an instrument that is very sensitive to vibrations, and attach a speaker to it. And an additional subwoofer? Yikes.

  4. Drew Freeman on February 7, 2021 at 9:46 pm

I loved my fife way realistic misstates wuth 15 inch woofers, a peso tweeter up to 59h got a tremendous five way killer.

  6. Nyackarch on February 7, 2021 at 9:50 pm

If I have a choice of Focal 806 speakers only or the pair & subbase of the Kantu YU6 speakers, which should I get?

  7. pat terrana on February 7, 2021 at 9:51 pm

My little klipsch "the one" on my kitchen island always floors me with the sound it produces.

  8. Peter Boynton on February 7, 2021 at 9:51 pm

Great start for me as I contemplate a system for a new workshop I built in my barn. It’s a 16’X16′ space and I’d like top go wireless with the speakers, and have a good, compact AM/FM receiver, (or internet radio connection), with a turntable and bluetooth connectivity for my iPhone. Stylistically, I like the whiote Kanto YU6 ‘look’. Suggestions? I’ve subscribed to channel after enjoying this video!

  11. The Flying V on February 7, 2021 at 9:53 pm

Thanks for the advice Andrew. I have a pair of old Wharfdale speakers that I want to use with my laptop when watching movies, with my Vestax turntables for DJing, and to listen to my vinyl collection or streaming music. I have an SMSL AD18, but I’m interested in getting a new amplifier that I can use for semi open back headphones as well. Is there an amp under 200USD that you recommend? Regarding the headphones, I’m thinking of a pair of AKG 240s.

Also, if I don’t have speaker stands, would foam isolation pads be effective of helping the sound sound better?

  12. batman.darthmaul on February 7, 2021 at 9:55 pm

Personally, I think a used Tech12 turntable is far better than any of the popular offerings today in the $300-$400 range. Far better built as well.

  13. Dennis O on February 7, 2021 at 9:56 pm

Thumbs down for the misleading title. This is a product promotion video not a guide to great audio. First time in this channel, I’ll probably never coming back. We don’t want to listen to people who lies to us.

  14. josh nespodzany on February 7, 2021 at 9:56 pm

As with most of the country I am WFH in a relatively small office space and was looking to add a bit of entry level audiphile to it. The major challenges I faced were room size and shape, small and barn style ceiling. The only place that made sense for speaker location was my desk. That puts an optimal listening distance at about 2.5-3 feet and I didn’t really want something that dominated the desk space either. I ended up going with the Dynaudio XEO 2 power speakers sitting on ISOAcoustic Aperta stands. I should mention that Dynaudio has updated the XEO 2 and is now called the XEO 10, the updates are pretty minor so if you can find a good price on the 2 go for it. Setup for listening from computer via mostly Tidal: macbook pro using AudioQueat cinnamon USB to Topping D50s DAC to speakers.
Setup for CD’s: Cambridge CXC CD transport connected via optical to the Topping D50s DAC to speakers

DAC to speakers is via RCA cables from Worlds Best Cables

Before taxes total (speakers, speaker stands, dac, & CD Transport) was under $2000.00 (this is due to the closeout price on the XEO 2’s). I am very happy with the performance and sound.

Great content as Im sure more "how to get great sound from small spaces" is going to be very sought after as the year grinds on!

Hey Andrew, love the channel. What speaker stand are those Kanto YU6’s on? Love that whole aesthetic with the white contrasting speaker body. Thanks!

  20. mornjager on February 7, 2021 at 10:03 pm

Any thoughts on Dynaudio Xeo 10/20? Looking for my first HI-Fi system and I want active speakers. I have also listened to the Kef Lsx and Ls50 Wireless. I do prefer the sound of the Dynaudio but the connectivity in de Kef is superior. Any other speakers in that pricerange that i need to look at before I make up my mind? Great channel by the way!

  21. Wen Tan on February 7, 2021 at 10:04 pm

Hi Andrew, thank you for your great video.

It is much appreciate for Singapore with small space, may I ask if you can create a video content to guide on the corner placement of speakers?
That will really help as I am waiting for my first set of speakers to come, thank you~

  22. Harish parvatham on February 7, 2021 at 10:06 pm

I have purchased the xtz spirit 4 after watching ur video. Thank you for that. My iota sa3 amps are in shipping as I type this. Let me know how they will match. Thank you

  23. ROLAND Hollander on February 7, 2021 at 10:07 pm

I want to hear music from the speakers🤔

  24. Van Hau Trinh on February 7, 2021 at 10:08 pm

i am glad that peter pee is a big fan of you, otherwise it would have took me waylonger to discover your channel.
another hi-fi piece for small spaces is the Bang&Olufsen Beoplay A6 (if you are lucky enough to get one seconde hand give it shot, chances that you will like it are great)

  25. madamerosario on February 7, 2021 at 10:08 pm

Hey Andrew, would be really cool if you could do a full review on the Maia DS2. I can’t find any full reviews that aren’t in German lol 🙂

  26. John Kalinowski on February 7, 2021 at 10:09 pm

For me, a large horn is the better sounding small room lower SPL without bothering others system.

  27. Arlen Moulton on February 7, 2021 at 10:10 pm

Of all the speakers I’ve heard, my favourite small, budget speakers have to be the JBL Control 1s, I loved my first pair so much that I bough a second pair. The first pair is on my secondary stereo system while the second pair act as my PC speakers with a cheap class D amp off eBay, they really do sound great! I used to use them on my main hifi too but I replaced them with some other speakers after a year of looking for a superior replacement.

  28. Daniel O'Herrick on February 7, 2021 at 10:11 pm

Another great system for those that want a CD player / AM FM radio / Bluetooth / WiFi / Hi-Res player is the Panasonic Technics OTTAVA f SC-C70 ($1000 US). A neighbor has one and it is excellent. Maybe a review in the future?

  29. Kevin Thomas on February 7, 2021 at 10:12 pm

A good $1000 or $2000 bookshelf speaker will crush its floorstanding equivalent!

  30. MH Hong on February 7, 2021 at 10:12 pm

Hi Andrew, love your videos. Keep them coming! Is the MaiA DS amp a good match for my Rega RP10 turntable? I use it in my 15 by 20 ft room. Just sold my anthony gallo ref floor speakers and entry level integrated burmester amp due space constraint. Looking to try a new amp and speakers with a $2 – $5k budget. Any suggestions are appreciated.

  31. whippydip on February 7, 2021 at 10:13 pm

What is the name of the speaker stands you were using for the 806s?

  32. Naqqash Sharif on February 7, 2021 at 10:14 pm

Thanks for letting us know about the paid promotion. Good vid.

  33. Alan Goidel on February 7, 2021 at 10:16 pm

I enjoyed your video. Small system suggestion – I’m using an Outlaw Audio RR2150 receiver, Klipsch RP M-160 bookshelf speakers and a vintage Dual turntable with a vintage Shure V15 type IV cartridge. A clear sound with lots of punch if you want it.

  34. Isaiah Scattercreek on February 7, 2021 at 10:17 pm

  35. Markus Sundin on February 7, 2021 at 10:19 pm

  36. Ragna Rock on February 7, 2021 at 10:19 pm

and remember to clean your ears properly and hold them in the direction of sound, it’s very important

  37. kevin b on February 7, 2021 at 10:19 pm

Would you recommend the Pro-ject Maia DS2 for Klipsch RP600?

  38. Chinh Tran on February 7, 2021 at 10:20 pm

  39. Apisak Rangsit on February 7, 2021 at 10:22 pm

    Hey Amigo!
I’m from Colombia and I am really enjoying this channel, thanks for all your honest talks about this magic world (Audio) … I have a little Question for you mate, what do you think about SONOS an all their ecosistem? Thanks in advance for your answer. Cheers!

  41. Arno Marcuse on February 7, 2021 at 10:28 pm

Hello Andrew, I do like your style, knowledge and insight. Its easy to digest. My question or curiousness is about the term Small Space. I get it from an apartment, small house where rooms are no bigger than 10ft x 10ft..or and office. My thinking is what about mid size rooms. 14 x 16 with bookshelves, sofa a couple strategic listening chairs? As a regular consumer its really not easy to get demo units, especially in the $1K – $2K range. its a crap shoot to buy and hope you like them.. Any suggestion on what speaker profile (amp power as well) works well for that medium size room? OR am I over thinking this? Thanks keep up the good quality work. Oh.. My room is that 14 x 16. square with 10 ft ceiling. BTW i am talking 2 channel quality listening. From a style point i do like those Focal Chora. But i was introduced to some Totem Rainmakers. ever try those? a 2nd thanks. 🙂

  42. David West on February 7, 2021 at 10:32 pm

I took your advice on the Klipsch three ii….I’ve got a dedicated audio system with forte ones. This is strictly my Bluetooth streaming and Turntable setup. Thanks for the recommendation.

  43. Zach Beck on February 7, 2021 at 10:34 pm

That andover all in one is ridiculously expensive. Why put the money into Project hardware and a nice Ortofon cart when you’re just going to sacrifice your frequency response, stereo imaging, and isolation by having the speakers built into your turntable.

  44. David West on February 7, 2021 at 10:34 pm

Hey Andrew…what do you think of Klipsch six powered speakers?….or anyone reply for that matter.

  45. Total plonker on February 7, 2021 at 10:35 pm

I love the end of the video (mess-ups) for me it was the best part of the video, besides it’s nice to see your true character!

  46. Bruno Hebert on February 7, 2021 at 10:36 pm

Just a little note regarding the Kanto SYD, nowhere I looked from your sponsor, amazon or even Kanto websitre is the price $199
It’s $329… quite a big difference (you might want to add a note to the video.
At this price, it makes the YU6 the obvious choice, but in terms of sub-$200 range now it’s empty..
    Thank you

  47. Sage Bias on February 7, 2021 at 10:36 pm

Speakers should be heard and not seen. I want some speakers for my family room that I don’t have to look at.

  48. Alan Smith on February 7, 2021 at 10:38 pm

Ok… question of the day… I’ve budgeted $500 for a new Turntable. U-Turn or Fluance ? Is there another I should also consider?

  49. likeris subruknem on February 7, 2021 at 10:39 pm
