Sweet list, dude. Gradius Gaiden is awesome, but unfortunately it doesn’t play nice with the PS3.
I really feel that Gradius Gaiden is my favorite of the series. Hermie Hopperhead is really fun and looks awesome on the PS1. The Time Bokan game and Kitchen Panic are now on my list. Thank you. Great video as always.
I know I’ve seen a few of these in your other PSX recommendation videos! but a lot of these look like fun, the one shmup sorta reminds me of twinbee a little bit, might have to look for that!

Good recommendations Jim 👏👌, some pick and play games, regardless of the language barrier. By the way, have you played "The adventure of little Ralph " ? It’s really good! It’s quite an ode to the 2d platformers games, like a mixture of different game experiences (Mario bros, mega man, even Battletoads and street fighter at a point) its quite pricey nowadays, but its also available in the Japanese Playstation store for the ps3. You might really like it , 👍

I already own a copy of that Hokuto no Ken game on PS1, but that Rakugaki Showtime I am going to have to seek out next.
Bokan to Ippatsu is cool and unique as you play the villain taking on the heroes. There is another one I remember called Bokan Go Go Go which plays like Mario Kart.

Happy to hear a recommendation for the Time Bokan game, I’ve always thought those shooters looked entertaining.The Rival Schools sequel feels interesting too, even though I´d only rate Project Justice for the Dreamcast "okay". The raw Playstation polygons suit the character designs and mini games and school-sim mode sound like fun. My Japanese is not even near what I´d need to play that mode yet, but one has to start somewhere…

Glad you enjoy the channel as I do yours as well. 🙂 I actually got a Japanese PS1 recently from our mutual pal Jimmy Hapa, and one of the games he gave me was in fact Hermie Hopperhead. I dig it, a neat little platformer. I’d say of these games, the shooter based on (i think) the Yatterman franchise, and also the FotNS beat em up i’ll be looking into. Tobal 1 and 2 have amazing OSTs!
