    GE appliances,
especially their dish washers, has got to be the worst of the lot.

There is a problem on Toronto share bike, I bet so many people doesn’t know the rent rules and get over charge after they bike over 30 minutes, wish you can investigate the biking system.
Last time, I bought a 24 hur day ride with 7 dollars and when I received the credit card bill, the share bike charged me 50 dollars additional after the day bike. They make rule to charge people who doesn’t know it until you call to them. Wish marketplace can take a look on it. Thank you!

corporate world order is here. They own everything and everyone. We need to return to local manufactures and local production. Not this global garbage.

    I want right to repair

  11. Appliance Archive on November 26, 2020 at 6:03 pm

GE was bought out by Haier and the processor on their boards are faulty. The latch issue on GE dishwasher can be solved by adjusting leg supports to square the frame. That is just how thin the frame is.

  12. malcolmmcbchen on November 26, 2020 at 6:03 pm

Lots of home appliances are made by same company then rebranding to familiar "known brands "…

  13. Leonardo Nguyen on November 26, 2020 at 6:04 pm

how about we enforce a law where provider stand by their words: if they say the appliance last 10 years or more, they have to pay for any damage or faulty not cause by the consumer for that amount of time and after that 10 years, we have right to repairs or they potential facing lawsuit! It’s just like with lemon car, same thing. HONOR your words.

Right To Repair- for the consumer and the environment it’s just right. One day in Canada? Maybe?

  15. T Rex Cal on November 26, 2020 at 6:06 pm

ALL Appliance companies should be LAWFULLY be enforced to stock parts on all their appliances for a minimum of 10 years or the customer should lawfully be reimbursed double their money of the purchase price. Pollution on this planet is freaking ridiculous. Any customer should be allowed to have the repair done by any repairman at any given time even if it voids the warranty. EVERYONE needs to stop buying these brand names and our Canada & USA need strict laws enforcing Appliance companies to honour right to repair.

The cheapest fridge willlast longer. They know you are willing to spend the big bucks. So they make sure it doesn’t last as long so you gotta spend more $ for a new one

  17. Lil Ol Me on November 26, 2020 at 6:11 pm

Hey buddy at 10:26 can you atleast comb your hair…?? I am in America, maybe that’s a Canadian thang! lol

Just to clear things up a bit, that appliance graveyard they are standing in, is not a graveyard. Those used appliances get repaired by used appliance guys. How do I know? Because I am a used appliance guy. I can sell anything, but I mainly only deal with top load washers & dryers. I LOVE that they break faster than ever! Parts? We use parts from one to repair the other. We buy some washers and dryers to be ‘parts machines’ if you will. So while some complain about them breaking, the people that repair them or sell them used is making bank! Did we buy a brand new dishwasher and did it break 8 months later? YES! Am I ok with them breaking in order for me to make 6 figures selling them used? YES! lol No joke, this is the most fun business I have ever owned! I love it! Not my fault they break but why not capitalize on it and help the people that can’t buy new…. 🙂

We have a 40-year-old Sears chest freezer still works fine. They sure don’t make them like they used to. Had a frigidaire dishwasher that caught on fire. Now a 10-year-old whirlpool dishwasher no issues. The LG direct drive washer and dryer are about 10 years old, never an issue. The old frigidaire fridge died and bought an LG with a 10-year warranty, no issues after 5 years. The worst appliances in my experience have been Frigidaire. Everything on Frigidaire appliances breaks and the parts are very expensive. I hate companies that sell you an expensive product then soak you for repair parts. Now I check before I buy how much replacement parts are and consumer reviews. One of the biggest rip-offs is the appliance warranty companies that will repair your appliances but you pay them a monthly fee. Try getting something repaired. They can take a month to repair a small thing like a thermostat on a fridge. Who can live without a fridge for a month? If you want to cancel their service they keep billing you for 6 -8 months after you have had a claim. All those new items like LED displays have issues and are ridiculously expensive to replace.LED displays are actually very inexpensive to make. New technology is actually not all that great.

Samsung glass top range is worst in reliability. We had 2 stoves cracked just after a year.

  20. Darryl Chemel on November 26, 2020 at 6:15 pm

Appliances are designed to do one thing and that is to rip you from your hard earned money. Most appliances are easily repaired by most anyone with some technical knowledge. Call the repairman and you will be in for a bill of at least $300.

  21. Manpreet Singh on November 26, 2020 at 6:15 pm

    In INDIA repairing is easy
My samsung 670 liter double door refrigerator compressor is dead
I call local machnich they replace compressor +labour charge + one year in only 100 us dollars and in rupees 7000

  22. Jerry Hanson on November 26, 2020 at 6:15 pm

Just buy commercial grade appliances if something breaks you will most likely find a part and they work really good and dont hardly need repairs this bit of advice is free i want these billionaires to suffer😂

  23. umeng2002 on November 26, 2020 at 6:16 pm

What they are saying is that they are making them to last longer, but to be thrown out if they break. So some last 10 years and others last 10 weeks. The ones that last a long time skew the averages to cover for the sharp increase in the ones lasting only 10 weeks. The manufacturer’s lobbying group then show law makers the skewed averages to avoid regulation.

Get rid of the pablum pukers in Ottawa and elect people with some spine to enact REAL consumer protection legislation!! Just listen to the DRIVEL spouted from the woman from the Appliance Manufacturers Association!!

  27. craig david on November 26, 2020 at 6:23 pm

Sadly, it’s a deliberate thing.. It’s called "planned obsolescence". I ask myself, what happened to the laws and legislation that used to protect us? I found the answer….. Lobbyists.. Or as I like to call it… Bribery. 😀 😀
I’m not sure if anybody else her noticed… The lady from the appliance association… She was lying through her teeth… Did anyone else see her body language?

  28. Françoise Dupré on November 26, 2020 at 6:24 pm

When I lived in Europe there was a law that products had to be fit for purpose for 5 years, and if they weren’t your beef was with the retailer, they supplied it. My washing machine came with a 6 year parts & labor warranty, needed 2 repairs and it was still going strong after 12 years (Panasonic).

  29. Bens Appliances and Junk on November 26, 2020 at 6:25 pm

The list on appliances most likely to break down… Almost entirely correlates to frequency of ownership. Samsung being the "Best" along with LG is hilarious. The list is almost the inverse in truth… Kenmore Elite refrigerators made in the past ~9 years are entirely LG-built machines. So there goes the notion they are good.

Want a long-lasting appliance? Get a Speed Queen washer and dryer for your laundry room. They’re built-in Ripon Wisconsin and usually have a 7 or 10 year full-coverage warranty… The same kind everyone else only gives you a 1-year warranty.

Fridges are kind of a crap-shoot, but go with something that’s either a side by side or top-freezer fridge. Units that have bottom-mount freezers are mechanically worse-off than top-freezers or side by sides. ESPECIALLY when ice/water is involved.

Avoid Samsung stuff at all costs. They are by far the worst-built machines. The components are 100% Chinese and most machines fail in 3-5 years. The video dogs Whirlpool and GE, but they are usually pretty decently-made and built in the US with mostly American or Mexican parts (vs. all-Chinese). Euorpean brands like Miele and Bosch are also good – Bosch dishwashers are by far the best on market.

  30. Hero of the Sprites on November 26, 2020 at 6:26 pm

Literally, they don’t make appliances with durability in mind any more, with all of these fancy bells and whistles (large Samsung tablets in your fridge door) they no longer have the consumer in mind, companies don’t care if your expensive appliance breaks down, they know they have you and that you’d be willing to spend whatever it takes to have them work, and how coincidental that they break down just after the warranty expires. Corporate greed is all there is…

  31. Isaac24 on November 26, 2020 at 6:27 pm

The only appliance brand I’d buy now is Kenmore or GE. everything else is absolute garbage. That’s not saying that Kenmore and GE are good, just that they are slightly better than others. Kenmore makes good dishwashers and fridges, while GE makes the good stoves. Microwaves I’m not sure. for Over-The-Range, probably GE, countertop it depends. We bought our countertop GE from Sams Club in 2009, still going strong with no repairs. For washers and dryers, Speed Queen is the best by a freaking landslide.
It used to be you had options. Now it’s basically buy like 2 brands because they MAY last a long time.
Oh, and I’m in the US so it may be different.

  32. Jerry Hanson on November 26, 2020 at 6:30 pm

These capitalistic billionaires now days are upsetting a balance. In the old days like the 80s appliances would never need to get fixed not even the cheap ones. These rich people that own these companies are making 30 to 40% more than they used to by making appliances cheaper so you’re forced to buy a new one. Back in the old days rich people had respect for how life worked, sacrificing profit for quality, not now days. This is not helping our economy just making rich people richer. I don’t disagree with capitalism just the people who have no respect for the balance of life.

  33. Kata Dila on November 26, 2020 at 6:33 pm

Here in Indonesia, If you have broken electronic home appliances and want to fix it up,
DO NOT go to the official manufacturer. It’s always way more expensive, and they will easily say that some spare parts are not available anymore.
But go to the third party services electronic home appliances instead.
They always have some kind of way to fix it up. with way more cheaper price.

  34. Squattin' Neville on November 26, 2020 at 6:34 pm

They never interview Canadians who are from the lower class, you know the people who suffer the most when it comes to finances. Who cares if some upper class people’s appliances brake?
They can just buy a new one.
People who live in poverty are completely f**ked.

  35. Américo Guerra Filho on November 26, 2020 at 6:34 pm

I think you have very bad professionals since you can adapt a lot of compressors different models!
