I would say popos is my fav but secure boot needs to be disabled for it to work last time I checked so my favorite Is Ubuntu with a macOS like dock also known as the dock used in gnome.

A lot of people underestimate Debian, although that is invariably what the first two distros in this video uses. Debian is slightly difficult to install and setup, and so is arch, but once you have successfully installed Debian, what you get is an extremely stable Ubuntu that will never ever break, and in a way, a large community community because if a solution works for Ubuntu, chances are it will work for Debian.

Thank you for these excellent info a out different linux-distributions.

  24. Leon Blank on June 20, 2022 at 10:12 pm

I’ve used Linux Mint for 2 years, and I must say, it’s a nice-looking distribution.

Sometimes, they didn’t put an interface over some functionnalities, so you have to go back to pure command line, but beside that, it runs smoothly, and does not require high knowledge of computing.

Linux mint cinnamon is the best Linux distro for anyone coming from Windows. Plus you can install .exe windows apps on Linux via Wine.

  31. NicoV420 on June 20, 2022 at 10:19 pm

very easy, if you need your computer to be easily usable, then none. even ubuntu is still a crap mess. lack of essential programs to do basic pc stuff, then, even if there is an app for your thing, then its probably hidden behind 65181 command lines to get it,and also probably severely outdated thus in the end not even working.
This comes from someone who otherwise loves linux (ubuntu) 😉

  36. Goedelite Kurt on June 20, 2022 at 10:23 pm

Linux Mint’s OS seems adequate and reliable to me for my personal computer use. I have found that the software available to me without charge has at least one gap. There is no app or program I can find the equal of a program I had used on Windows called Rainlendar. It functioned by appearing on the desktop and displaying the day’s appointments as well as those scheduled for the week. It was simple to use as a calendar and as a reminder. I still have Rainlendar in my Linus Mint 19.1 system, but it has an editing flaw that is long-standing and serious. The producers are too busy to fix it. Linux is to busy to include an equivalent program for users of Linux Mint. I am rather disappointed, because this sort of program is very basic. I have to rely on a paper calendar to keep up with my appointments.
