Best Linux Distro 2003 – 2020 | Linux OS 2020 | Linux Distro 2020

This visualization is about Best Linux Distro 2003 – 2020 | Linux OS 2020 | Linux Distro 2020. We have listed out the best Linux distro 2020 based on page hit rankings from Distrowatch. Page hit rankings of Distrowatch indirectly shows overall Linux best OS. There are many categories like the best Linux distro for gaming, best Linux distro for programming and so on but when it comes to overall performance only the best Linux distro survives and only one of those best Linux distro makes it to the top this list. When it comes to best Linux desktop environment and best Linux OS for laptops the ones with more asthetic performance and the ones which can also run on low end PC are the best. But this list doesn’t rank Distros based on a specific category like gaming, programming. This shows the overall popularity of a particular distro. Linux is a family of open source Unix like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991, by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution. Popular Linux distributions include Debian, Fedora, and Ubuntu. Linux was originally developed for personal computers based on the Intel x86 architecture, but has since been ported to more platforms than any other operating system. Linux is the leading operating system on servers and other big iron systems such as mainframe computers, and the only OS used on TOP 500 supercomputers (since November 2017, having gradually eliminated all competitors). Linux is one of the most prominent examples of free and open source software collaboration. The source code may be used, modified and distributed—commercially or non-commercially—by anyone under the terms of its respective licenses, such as the GNU General Public License.

    FreeBSD doesn’t count as a Linux distro, as it doesn’t use the Linux kernel. BSD is a completely different UNIX-based system and also the grandfather of MacOS.
    ReactOS isn’t even UNIX-based. The system has nothing to do with Linux.
    Also, popular =/= best.

    El video es interesante, pero la música que le pusiste, una auténtica porquería. Deberías ser más cuidadoso con la música, en videos como este, lo único que se escucha es la música, y si la selección musical es pésima, como en este video, desmotiva a seguirlo mirando.

    Obviously downloads have nothing to do with usage. Not even mentioned is RedHat, SUSE, and ChromeOS (basicly Android x86). Note that a version of SUSE boots 75% of all US cash registers. Certainly Android on ARM is significant. Able to "update" the Android install to Ubuntu (change presentation manager).

  25. Prey Roblox on August 22, 2021 at 10:46 pm

    OpenSUSE, in the list since the start 🙂

    SLS > Slackware since 1993. For everything else, there’s Make.

  34. Eda Kimling on August 22, 2021 at 10:54 pm

    Honestly, MX Linux does deserve the spot. Their distro is amazing. They also have amazing tools and their installer is one of the best; none of the crap like so many others. When others are barely allowing full disk encryption on a SINGLE partition using LVM (not recommended by dm-crypt team!!!) MX Linux allows multiple partitions, each encrypted on its own, no LVM and it perfectly manages passing encryption key around the partitions so at bootup, you only enter your decryption pw once.

    Meanwhile majority (with few exceptions like Open Suse) of other distros are just bitching about how they can do nothing about this, because they are just using 3rd party installer that does not support the functionality better so oh well what can they do.

    Why not use MX Linux installer, make it better and contribute to it instead of using a lame ass other installer? I cannot always comprehend these decisions other distros make. The web is full of questions and hacks new linux users cannot even fathom to do in order to support encryption in the installer.

    And this is just tip of the iceberg. Like I said, MX Linux has some very interesting tools.

    This is not to denigrate other distros. There are some amazing distros out there for sure. I just happen to give a lot of due credits to MX Linux and tried to highlight one glaring issue *most* distros do not take seriously.

    Cheers!

    I want to make new versions of logos from several
    Linux distributions on a very good Linux distribution;
    in Inkscape and Gimp (and Blender)… and I would begin
