Hi thank you. I bought a macbookpro16 inch about 13 months ago and I accidentally touched the screen and cracked / screen is very sensitive and no longer working / took it to apple and they want $1400 for the screen

Lenovo legion 5 (non pro version) is still my budget pick. For about 1000 bucks, i got a ryzen 7 5800h, rtx 3050, 16gb ram, 1tb ssd. Its great for anyone getting into productivity learning, video editing and some light gaming.
PSA: Macbooks do not make good student laptops if you’re in STEM. My friend ended up buying a Macbook right before he started his Engineering degree, and he had loads of trouble trying to run programs on it.

I can’t belive legion 5 pro wasnt mentioned…. It di©*ks down every other laptop in its category. 16:10 aspect ration, 98% srbg/78% dci p3, 165hz 2560×1600 display, RTX 3070 at 140W tdp, ryzen 7 5800h, ez switch for rgb, trackpad, camera on and off. You can turn off optimus (for g-sync) or leave it on when you need battery usage (with ez switch to 60hz) for over 9 hours of yt playback. Boost display response to 4.5s (well inside refresh window). If you need additional performance, just upgrade the RAM and get 10% performance increase (by using different, better timed 2x8GB sticks) or better yet, get 32GB of well timed ram and get even more then 10% performance increase.

eh.. no mention of the ideapad 5 pro? 16" 350nits QHD 120Hz display with dedicated graphics that won’t break the bank.. and doesn’t look like a pimped out ufo from the 90s
I am planning on purchasing the MacBook Pro 14 inch this fall. Hopefully the extra GPU cores will help at least base gaming. The current MacBook Pro has only 720 P front camera-took small. 1080 P is standing and has been for a long time. I am not willing to purchase any Windows laptops due to midiocre batter life even on the Surface Laptop. For gaming I have purchased a XBOX Series S. No more AMD or nVidia GPU gaming for me until they bring prices down. They cater to miners.

Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45 is definitely recommended for gaming laptop, with Ryzen 7 5800H and RTX 3060 with 95 TDP and 144hz is definitely the budget recommended for 3060.
But the downside is the battery life and bezel oh and it only came with 16gb SINGLE channel
Lenovo legion 5 is definitely the best gaming lapto right now, considering the GPU is close to the desktop version

Now I’m torn on if I should get M16 or Legion Pro 5. LOL
I’m kind of confused as to why the HP Omen isn’t on this list? Frankly it should theoretically be at the top. It’s got a long battery life, HAS A WEBCAM, and runs remarkably cool under load. AND it has both Ryzen and Intel options. My only complaint is it has some screen wobble and it’s not all metal.

Acer Swift 3 isn’t worth it in the external parts. Screen is bad, the body’s color fades easily and the keyboard is not very comfy to use.
