I’m a student and it’s difficult to me to find a convincing laptop for these coronavirus times, at the same time that school in my region is almost in person I need something portable which doesn’t makes lot of space on my backpack, and like any other school it must last at least seven hours to complete a whole eight hours school day,but at the same time I tend to pass hours drawing on my free time and every artist can relate that a “laggy” brush it’s nothing but problems, so I am looking for a medium laptop able to manage both clip studio paint and MediBang, does anybody has recommendations?

i legit just went onto facebook and bought a $400 (Australian dollars) old discontinued macbook from 2015 and it still works fine, it is also super fast with a 250gb ssd.

i have the surface go as it is supplied to us by our school, and it’s pretty meh. slow, average battery life and they keyboard is not that good. had a key break because i pressed it on the edge too much. now it only works if used at a certain angle or force is applied by pushing it onto the surface.
the stylus is pretty nice though.
You guys act likes tough to save a few hundreds dollars, or find a side hustle to generate a 2nd income so you are able to buy nicer things you want. If you can’t see the easy solution to your whines ans groans than keep complaining and making excuses as to why your flat broke
My school needed at liest to have a 1060 rtx, 8 gb ram and core i7 it was atleast 1000$

NEW, LOW INCOME STUDENTS: this guy does not know what affordable means. And he’s wrong about chromebooks – there are versions of chromebooks, such as the google pixel go, that has all the functionality that most college majors need, and they are genuinely affordable (as in, NOT $1,000+). If you can afford these laptops, then you are very lucky. Otherwise, chromebooks can serve you well.

What is the cheapest laptop with 12-16gb ram. Mostly browsing photoshop discord vlc video editing etc. No gaming, don’t care about size, weight or display ratio. My main usage is streaming and website design. I oftenly need 15-40 chrome tabs open, voice chat and screen capture.
