Keep this series going. I’m looking for a great system for home theater. I’d rather save up and do it right. I want sound with authority.

Nice video as always, Channa. Thanks for the help. One thing I’d like to request in a future video is how to make good quality cables from a reel of cable and banana plugs, or similar. Would be very interested to hear your thoughts and see your process on that one.

    Cheers,

    Matt.

The fact that people buy sound bars for 600 dollars instead of proper speakers saddens me.

  11. Fernando on February 28, 2021 at 12:07 am

I love my Vizio Soundbar w/wireless subwoofer…unfortunately it has one major flaw that has me going a different route. I hate having the subwoofer cut out. I’m going old school and keeping it wired.

Hi sir ,constructing a dance studio (702 sq.ft area)
    10 ft height…
    Please suggest some speakers…

  13. Apache helicopter on February 28, 2021 at 12:13 am

I have the vizio 5.1.4 and it cost me 1k on day one. It’s ass. The regular 5.1 from Walmart is $200. My sound bar has Dolby atoms. My tv has Dolby vision too. I’m new at receivers and what no. What would be a good replacement receiver with a 4K pass thorough? And Dolby atoms?

  14. Landmantx on February 28, 2021 at 12:14 am

If I only had $1000 I would buy a good pair of stereo speakers and maybe a center channel, but definitely I would devote almost all the budget to the speakers. I would recommend Tekton Design Lore Reference at $750 and a decent $250 amp.

  15. Highrise Tech on February 28, 2021 at 12:14 am

Just dropping in to say that you do a grade A job, Channa. I’m pretty experienced with all this, but I must say that all your videos are well produced, easy to understand, and address most topics in a very approachable way for those newer to the hobby. Great work.

@techno dad what is the best floor standing speaker? I’m looking to upgrade my left and right home theater speakers.

  17. Fabrice Dal-Cin on February 28, 2021 at 12:15 am

Hi Channa, I’ve been following you for a few weeks now and I enjoy your videos and good advice which is why I also subscribed, oh and I’m an Aussie from South Australia so I’m far far away anyway I need some guidance I don’t have all the cash straight away so I’m wanting to build slowly with good Quality gear without breaking the bank, I can’t afford any more than a grand maybe a little more, let me tell you what I have thus far my old system is a Pioneer 5.1 surround sound theater system with the pioneer multi-channel VSX-517 Receiver (very old), I replaced the sub-woofer that came with the pioneer system with a Sub-woofer I inherited just a couple weeks ago from my mother in law its a Klipsch R-10SW 240 Watt Subwoofer so straight off the bat I’ll definitely be keeping the new sub I’ve inherited but the rest I’ll have to ditch eventually the old system that I paid $200 for is showing signs so I want your advice on what I can get, I’m 55 years old and I’ve seen enough sound systems in my time to know you don’t have to buy the best to get really good quality sound, if you can factor in some of the latest digital encoding like Digital Atmos, Dts etc I think you’ll know what I mean any assistance on this would be great, thanks Channa. Regards Fabrice

I’m really surprised these Andrew jones speakers didn’t make the line up here… I’m pretty sure they out preform all the speakers 5.1 set ups shown here and cheaper in some cases…. anyways I have them and they are fantastic speakers

Don’t listen to this advice, because I followed this video last year. Went from 1k to 11k in equipment lol 😂. Great info.

  29. Aww bollocks then on February 28, 2021 at 12:31 am

Thank you very much for a very informative video, I would love to get an answer back from this question, are you aware is there any TV out there which uses its own TV speaker as the centre channel,? ( If they do such a thing as bespoke ) furthermore in your experience what is the best centre speaker channel so I’m able to understand the dialogue perfectly.

  30. kashyap thakker on February 28, 2021 at 12:34 am

What about taga harmony 606 se , 5.0 speaker system. Why no ones reviewing it ?

  31. TheTigerGamer on February 28, 2021 at 12:34 am

Why use a Sb-1000 with that 5.1? I’d rather get a PB-1000 since it’s way louder below 40 Hz and it goes down to around 15 – 16 Hz. Use it myself and even got it down to 13 Hz but it’s not really usable below 15 Hz since it starts to get pretty quiet. But of course the 10" got it’s limits.

  32. Alexander Scott on February 28, 2021 at 12:35 am

    SSHEEEEYYEAH NO!!!
BEST Home Theater under $1000 is DEFINITELY coming from the USED market!!!

  33. Chris Baumann on February 28, 2021 at 12:37 am

Nice speaker recommendation video! True $1000.00, and under Home Theatre system, can mean so many different things. My thought. Get yourself the Yamaha YHT-4950-UBL, in a box from Yamaha. Even includes batteries for Remote, and 80ft of adequate (not great) speaker wire. Sound and performance pretty decent for $479.99, Nation wide, at the Best Buy of your choice. Quantities dwindling.

  34. DragonFly 85 on February 28, 2021 at 12:37 am

Honestly I’d be happy with a 5.1ch sound bar for TV/movies/gaming, but would like to go back to a traditional 2ch system for music, have them seperate and put my money into a decent amplifier, speakers and turntable. Would also like to get a decent seperate DAC down the track too! 🙂

  35. KMS Srinivas on February 28, 2021 at 12:38 am

Hi Techno Dad i want to buy 5.1 Speakers (ELAC Cinema 5, PolkTL1600, JBL Cinema 610, Klipsch HDT600) Which One is really Best and in AV Receiver 5.2 (Denon AVR X550BT, Marentz NR1509, Onkyo TX-SR373) Which One is Best.. Plz Suggest me

  36. David Coates on February 28, 2021 at 12:38 am

    @TechnoDad what your opinion on
Pioneer Elite VSX-LX303 9.2 Channel vs Denon AVR-S750H Receiver, 7.2 Channel

  37. Michael Blehm on February 28, 2021 at 12:39 am

Getting my system together ,and wondering if I could pass through my sound bar through my av receiver. rather than using all the speakers during early hours so I don’t wake the whole house up.

  38. Edgar Palma Murillo on February 28, 2021 at 12:40 am

Would you recommend getting a 2nd hand receiver? Or is one of those things you should not get used?

  39. Sam Felstead on February 28, 2021 at 12:41 am

Hey Techno Dad, Does the Denon X4500H has enough power using a 7.2.4 setup with Klipsch RPs (high sensitivity) or would i need a amplifier?

  48. TheMonyarm on February 28, 2021 at 12:52 am

Let’s see, I make 560 a month, I can save up half of that in October, November and december, so that means 840$, if I also take out a small loan I might be able to get my parents a sound system for Christmas.
