Samsung Odyssey G7 27" owner. I LOVE this display. Its the perfect monitor that finds a nice balance of above average in quality and above average in gaming performance. I will note, its not the best. If you are purely after the BEST gaming performance. 1080p is still king. If you are running a 3070, 3080 series GPU. The Odyssey G7 would be perfect. I justified the purchase due to the 240hz refresh rate that is above average for the majority of gaming setups and VERY rare in a 1440p display. 1440p is a very high quality display and if you are a gamer that does online PVP. Go 1440p or 1080p and skip out on the 4k. The picture quality is not worth the performance drop. If you have played on a 240hz monitor. Its nearly impossible to go back to a 60hz as it will feel choppy and blurry every time you move. Just a warning lol.

  5. NeonKitty on February 28, 2021 at 11:04 pm

The notion that no gamer could possibly be looking for a 60Hz monitor for their gaming rig is… let’s just call it interesting.

G7 seems to have black crush and oversaturation of greens and reds compared to 27gn950, can these problems be fixed by adjustment through OSD? I am also curious if 27gn950 has backlight bleeding problems in dark scenes similar to those found in Resident Evil VIII demo. Thank You

I’m looking for a monitor for mainly productivity (School, work, media) and maybe a little bit of gaming like mainly story mode games and maybe some CoD. I’m thinking of a 34inch 1440p anyone have any suggestions? Don’t know if I should spend the extra for getting IPS+144hz or just IPS or VA 144HZ

  23. THB admin on February 28, 2021 at 11:24 pm

While a great video….your list is too big….narrow it down to 5-7 monitors.

  24. Christopher Allen on February 28, 2021 at 11:28 pm

How much do you think the G7 32" will lose on text and other "sharpness" compared to the 27"?

I really want the 32", but I am afraid of losing quality.

  25. Malik Hussein on February 28, 2021 at 11:28 pm

    Hey nice video really helpful.

The LG 34GN850 has a twin, the LG 34GP83A-B that is the same exact monitor with a few less accessories for $200 less at $799

  31. Duncan Donuts on February 28, 2021 at 11:38 pm

idk y but even tho i have the money to buy an expensive monitor, i’d feel bad putting $500 into one.

  32. Samuel Garcia on February 28, 2021 at 11:40 pm

I just bought a VIOTEK GNV34DBE 34-Inch Curved Gaming Monitor | 144Hz UWQHD 4ms monitor, and would love you to review it. At $399 USD it seems a pretty good option, but look forward to your comments. Greetings from COVID19 empire of Mexico!!

  33. Ben Robinson on February 28, 2021 at 11:40 pm

Ha, I was looking at 4k monitors and was surprised you suggested the exact model I was interested in! Although it sounds like 1440 p such as the Odyssey G7 may actually be better at the moment.

Do they not the actual Alienware products in Australia? I don’t remember Tim every reviewing an actual AW monitor, just the Dell models.

Good video. I picked up the Samsung g7 27” but the curve was way more extreme than I imagined. I kept it for three days but in the end I couldn’t get used to it. It was great for games but the distortions got very unpleasant when working with desktop applications. Traded it for a dell s2721dgfa which I’m very pleased with.

  46. Xavier Alanis on February 28, 2021 at 11:54 pm

looking to get new pc (part’s of it bellow). With that I’l need new monitor as well. Just one monitor for everything.
I currently using my old pc Samsung Syncmaster 2233 21.5" 1080p 60Hz monitor, and it’s working so far as the day I got it, had no complain so far.
I’m going to play games like Scum, Battlefiled 5, Gta5…, and use it for 3D modeling/rendering. I want monitor that will be used at least 6 year’s without problems.
Size of monitor that I’m ok with is; 27”-32” 2560×1440 240Hz IPS pannel. If possible not-curved one. Will be using it in semi-dark to dark room.
What would you suggest me to buy (at least 2 options) ?
    Is there a RAM memory stick kit of 128GB (4×32) minimum 3600 CL16 ?

    AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 3.4 GHz 16-Core Processor
be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 50.5 CFM CPU Cooler
Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero ATX AM4 Motherboard
    Crucial Ballistix 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory
Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME SSD x2
Sapphire Radeon RX 6900 XT 16 GB Video Card
be quiet! Pure Base 500DX ATX Mid Tower Case
be quiet! Dark Power Pro 12 1500 W 80+ Titanium Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

    Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 32/64-bit
Logitech G915 TKL RGB Wireless Gaming Keyboard
Logitech G Pro X Superlight Wireless Optical Mouse
    Logitech Pro X Headset
Logitech BRIO Ultra HD Pro Webcam

    Thank you 🙂

Steve, my 34GK950F just broke… Do you touch your 34GK950F with feathers or how do you manage to not get it broken? Its been 6 months now and the only thing I did was wiping it with a dry tovel, now it looks like it has been hit by a train, panel is definitely broken
