Best Buy in Reynoldsburg, OH refused to return broken TV they sold me on Christmas Eve.
Best Buy in Reynoldsburg, OH refused to return broken TV they sold me on Christmas Eve.
I left my number for the manager to call me and they didn’t bother. Such poor customer service.
I worked for Best Buy my senior year, worst year of my life. DO NOT do business with these people. They charge an abomination for the same products you can get at Walmart or Target for a much more fair price, no better or worse quality and their weekly ads are misleading half the time.
How do we know you didn’t damage the tv? People lie all the time.
The guy is just babbling. The lady doesn’t know what she is talking about. TV’s that you buy, you can return a TV 15 days and even if it is damaged. Go to another bestbuy and they would have taken it.
ive have also had issues with this company…beware
I’m on the employee side
You can return anything within your return policy for any reason. But if you lie your tv down flat in your vehicle we do not accept returns. Tvs are not meant to be loaded flat as they could crack, and we have no way to prove if it was the customer or if it came cracked in the box. That’s why we offer the free delivery in the first place.
She just works their and is telling you that she can’t that they can’t it’s her job customers like this piss me off
Guy is making the problem worse than it should have been
That’s a lie, I have returned a tv to Walmart before
Wow! this is a ridiculous policy. As i’m looking now and dont even see it on the website. Why dont they post it clearly to the customer?
Pure insanity,,sounds like some folks just don’t want to do their jobs!!!!
Have you considered we handle 10,000+ people a day. Ive had people follow me home. Ive been treated so poorly by people, yall are fucking scum
This is not policy. Walmart has zero customer service training so they get away with it but at least she was not a racist bitch about it. Ha can sue and he will win.
Lol get fucked. Listen to the employees next time they tell you to not load a TV like that.
Is it possible to check if the product is in good conditions while you are at the store?
I have banged and bashed a 55" tv inside the original manufacturers box/packaging. Absolutely no damage. Transportation cannot damage a tv when it’s still in manufacturers packaging.
The guy fucked up and now he is trying to get a refund. I love that he did not. The reverse change he will claim from his bank Will have NO effect at all. It’s actually illegal when he has the product.
yall doing this crap is laughable. ORDER FROM CRUTCHFIELD!!! I ordered a pair of RP280fs.One of which arrived with damage TWICE with nearly an entire corner knocked off once and a damaged cone the other. They immediately issued a return label and cross shipped me a new tower both times. and the 3rd tower ended up in a 2nd very thick sturdy box that was made EXACTLY to fit the box Klipsch put the tower in. POINT BLANK ORDER FROM THEM! They only sell Nicer TVs too. Nothing ABSOLUTE junk. like BB and WAL MART
I worked in the home theater department at a Best Buy for nearly five years and we never had any issues taking TVs back. It wasn’t uncommon for us to have a dozen open-box models with some of them missing packaging, remotes, stands and power adapters. It obviously got worse after the holidays because of the extended return period which allowed any holiday purchases to be returned through like the first week of January.
Now returning a TV with a damaged panel was done on a case by case basis in my store being as we checked the panel with the customer before it left.
You would be surprised how many times customers would destroy their new TV getting it out of the box or trying to mount it.
They took my tv back
Best buy will cancel your order for no apparent reason. Buyer beware.
She should be fired just for her obvious “I don’t want to hear it” and “I’m going to treat you like a child” attitude. The policy “somewhat” makes sense (if damaged inside the box, mfc should replace it) but it should be Best Buy’s responsibility to deal with that, and regardless there is definitely no excuse for the passive aggressive belittling attitude.
She’s a liar. That’s not even a policy she’s full of crap or doesn’t know anything.
What I’m going threw right now is I bought a 70" Vizio and had best buy deliver it. Got it all hooked up and turned it on and had a cracked LCD, couldn’t see it while the TV was off. Call there customer service number and the will be bringing me a new one in a week and take the broke one. Going to have them plug in the new one first this time before they leave
That sucks from now on i will open box and text product before purchasing at the store. Unless its another store that can except returns.
Credit card won’t reject it. It’s not a fraudulent charge. I want to see the video where the credit card took the charge back. All those were bluffs. Mentioned dealing with credit card numerous times but still trying to get it done in store. 😂🤣😂
I hope you have this worked out in your favor. I am dealing with Best Buy about an upright freezer we paid for that wad stolen from their store before we picked it up. I ever made a report to the BBB about this matter with the copy of a police report. They apologized to BBB about waisting their time and deleted it from my monthly bill only to a month later after BBB was involved to contest me to pay for this item I didn’t received because it was stolen from their store. I will get BBB involved again in this matter. Best Buy hates it when a customer gets BBB involved in a matter. Sometimes that is the only thing they respond to. I was a loyal customer and bought multiple appliances and tv’s from Best Buy for over 20’years. After this is settled I will no longer set foot into their store.
This is why I always buy from Costco whenever possible. Best Buy is total shit when it comes to issues like this.
After having to deal with Bestbuy staff that don’t know their job on multiple occasions I have learned that some stores just have uneducated managers/ staff. Just go to another bestbuy store. That almost always is the solution for me. I would also file a complaint with the BBB and local states Attorney. I wouldn’t be surprised if that TV was a openbox passed off as new. If you can always film opening the box and testing the device.
I had taken back a monitor within the refund period that i wasn’t happy with, it wasn’t used and had no damage. The customer service rep then got geek squad to take it out the box, power it on and test it. They took their time doing this while looking at me like if i did something wrong. This was at a Canadian best buy store and left a extremely sour taste in my month. Now i think twice before buying anything there related to screens.
So I’m sorry but I got a sony 65 4k and the screen was broken and I returned it just fine she was lying right to your face
If only he bought it on the Best Buy credit card and insured it for two or five years it would be no problem exchanging it
If you really want to make an impact go to the corporate office and complain to the big suits there, I myself worked in retail for 5 years, and can tell you as I have seen it myself this is how you REALLY get an issue sorted out, what happens is that the ball rolls down hill, so whatever executive you go to, they are going to go to the next person down, the two of them are going to go to the next person down, the three of them are going to go to the next person down, the 4 of them are going to go to the next person down, and on and on as it snowballs until whoever is responsible has this whole barrage of higherups coming after him or her, one, and this is just one such reason why you would want to do this is going to the manager of the store you are at as I’m sure you have noticed very rarely does anything, the reason for this is more often than not the policies are set by people higher up than them, and there is nothing that they can do about it because it’s a call made by someone higher up in the chain of command, sometimes it’s a policy that the person at the store themselves realizes is stupid, but cant do anything about it for the reason I just stated, whereas you the customer bringing it to their attention something will finally be done about it, a good many company executives are kind of like "the elite members of society in their Ivory Towers" thus they have very little notice of what’s going on at the lower levels because it does not effect them directly, they are more focused on the bigger picture of keeping the company in business, and sometimes depending on the company you may get free merchandise, or store credit as an apology from that or those company executives. I myself have seen this happen a few times, and can tell you this is what you need to do, just do a little research to get the names of the company executives, as well as the address of the corporate office, and write them a nasty letter of complaint.
Think .. think ,,
I work for BestBuy and this is bull, as long as it was returned before 15 days that is on us to take that back if it is damaged when purchased. Unless there was more to the story such as it was purchased after that 15 day mark then they should take the tv back.
Always contact the manufacturer, tell them the problem to see if they can find a solution if they can’t they’ll give you a confirmation email to verify with retailer you bought it from and the retailer will give you back your money or the product that way the retailers can say shit.
I worked in electronics at target and we just check the serial numbers and receipts and make sure it’s returned within a reasonable time and we give a refund.
HOWEVER that doesn’t apply to everything there like video games if you open the video game case we can’t return it no matter what
Okay… but I guarantee they would not allow you to open the box before you buy the item either…
Same thing happened to me but i used my gf debit card when they refused to return a broke oled tv that’s 1300 it was already broken once I opened it. Next day did acharge back that her debit card was stolen got my money back & sold the tv on offer up for 400 oh well
the tv has damage but not the box? hmmm
Why does he keep saying this credit card company? She said the manufacturer will give him back the money lol
How do they know it was damaged before or if you damaged it? Policy is policy. Plus the whole situation – bought a 50 inch, want to return that later, now trying to return the 65 inch – idk . Maybe I spent too much years working in retail , and part of it in loss prevention, but this whole situation is weird.
Not a Best Buy “Fan Boy”, but it is where I got my last 4 TVs.
Best Buy could not do the Return, on the 65” TV, because they have no way of knowing if the Damage to the TV was done by you, by them, or before it was even at the Store.
Had you chosen to have the 65” TV Delivered, instead of taking home in your Car/Truck, this could have ended differently.
When shipping a TV, it is very possible that it could get damaged. So, if the TV was Delivered by Best Buy, and it arrive damaged, then probably, Best Buy would have been more than willing to do a replacement. Where as when you decline Store Delivery, you yourself are taking on that responsibility. So, with no way to prove that you didn’t damage it as you loaded/unloaded from your Vehicle, you’ll have to contact the Manufacturer, for repair/replacement.
Plus, in doing the return, if Best Buy had Delivered it, they would have also picked it up. Making less like to get even more damaged, as it is returned. So yeah, loading it back in to you Vehicle could have caused even more damage. Didn’t you say that you were returning a 50” TV, at the same time??
What a fool. Easy enough to deal with manufacturers to get replacement
I bought two dell monitors yesterday and and When I turned the power on, one of the monitors has a cracked LCD and I went back to Best Buy the same day and asked for replacement and they refused to replace or return the item. I tried to speak with the manager and she wasn’t willing to help. I will never get an item from Best Buy again. I wish I had seen this video before.
and then you threaten to abuse the credit cards chargeback system just because your scam failed in store. what is wrong with you? chargebacks raise interest rates…
Your credit card company has protection for stuff like this
This manager is creeping me out, something about her is off, she was so happy to deny the return
Best buy out here selling broke tvs
I recall i bought a tv at walmart but dropped it & it broke, told them honestly they exchanged it for me in minutes
