An ALMOST Perfect Ryzen Ultrabook – ASUS ZenBook 14 Review

The ASUS ZenBook 14 with AMD Ryzen 4700U processor is one of the best ultrabooks we’ve test. It has a super long battery life, amazing performance benchmarks for the 4700U and a pretty low price. But the Zenbook 14 UM425IA release date and limited availability might make it really hard to find and we also found some other problems with the ASUS notebook that make it fall just short of being the best Ryzen laptop of 2020.

Bought this Laptop based off this review for $849 during Black Friday. 4700U 16gb 1tb nvme and i am thoroughly impressed. The screen brightness was something i needed to get used to since i was coming from a XPS 13 4k touch display, but for the price and specs i think most people won’t have an issue. I haven’t had any crashes or blue screens or problems waking up from sleep, which i was afraid of. All in all very happy with the purchase. Audio jack dongle is a plus, i rarely use headphones.

  13. Rob Fsociety on April 4, 2021 at 1:47 am

How do you compare this ASUS Zenbook 14 Ryzen 4700U vs Asus Flow X13 , Lenovo Ideapad Slim 7 or Lenovo Flex 5 14" ?

  14. Raheel on April 4, 2021 at 1:48 am

That warning sounds , bad! In another review the fan would clock higher at first, I though ‘cause of the different charger he used…. but hIs web also didn’t work….. I’m assuming ASUS has an issue……….

  15. APaulO96 on April 4, 2021 at 1:48 am

I too would be watching initial d

  16. doo oouge on April 4, 2021 at 1:49 am

Yeah, I’m hurt by the headphone jack, I but it also only has one USB-A port. That’s a let down

  17. FBI on April 4, 2021 at 1:51 am

I’m not buying it for the fact it doesn’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack.

  18. Davide Castagno on April 4, 2021 at 1:53 am

I was really into this laptop till the headphone jack part. It just seems a spite to me

  19. Kyfaj K on April 4, 2021 at 1:57 am

Why every source say different % of sRGB? I am confused 🙁 🤷

  20. LionPride on April 4, 2021 at 1:57 am

  26. Endless Universe on April 4, 2021 at 2:03 am

you’ve got yourself a buggy laptop to review and still you’re "impressed". that’s something

  27. Ravi Peiris on April 4, 2021 at 2:04 am

Great review, thank you. Based on your analysis, I decided against purchasing this notebook. Your words do have sway with viewers like me.

  28. 2 Tango Pls Ty on April 4, 2021 at 2:04 am

I’m using this laptop and damn, this is really good so far. I was also frustrated at the headphone jack at first, but I got used to using the dongle to connect my wired earphones, and it’s fine.

  29. Fede Gagliardi on April 4, 2021 at 2:05 am

How can anyone find the one with the 1W 400 nit display?
    Is it just random?

  30. Andrej Žižek on April 4, 2021 at 2:05 am

Sleep mode still not working on a ASUS? Chrashing after closing the lid?
What a surprise :)))) It’s not just your sample. It’s faulty ASUS motherboards.

  31. Gabriela Peřestá on April 4, 2021 at 2:10 am

What a thorough, clear and professionally done review. Thank you! Still on the edge whether or not to buy this one though. I can only get it at 8 GB ram in my country and I’m worried about it not running smoothly during videocalls. Plus, the absence of a 3,5 mm jack is a bit of a shocker to me!

  32. Rex Luminus on April 4, 2021 at 2:12 am

Super Top great revews.👍👍🇭🇺🇨🇦✅ See you again soon. Thank you.

  33. BloodyIron on April 4, 2021 at 2:12 am

No headphone jack. Done, not buying.

  34. Winter is coming on April 4, 2021 at 2:12 am

Does the version with Ryzen 7 got 2 fans or 1 like the version with Ryzen 5?

  35. Malith Perera on April 4, 2021 at 2:12 am

Came for the video when I saw the AMD CPU, was super excited to see but didn’t even finish the video when I saw there is no headphone jack.

  36. Ryebread095 on April 4, 2021 at 2:16 am

I have begrudgingly moved to wireless headphones since most phones worth anything these days don’t have headphone jacks. The only headphones I use with a wire these days has a 1/4 inch input anyway, and no mobile device, phone or laptop, has a port for that

  37. Shamarian Revada on April 4, 2021 at 2:19 am

My Bluetooth headphones(beats and AirPods) don’t always connect to the laptop🧍🏾‍♀️

  38. Qian Lim Price on April 4, 2021 at 2:20 am

I am so confused. I’ve been searching everywhere on the internet for the zenbook 14 um425ia 4500u version and it is like it has disappeared off the internet entirely. I can’t find any trace of it.

  39. Yash Kadel on April 4, 2021 at 2:21 am

Thank you for the eye opening real world review! Would have made a thousand dollar mistake otherwise.

i just bought UM425I and windows is showing me 9-10 hrs of battery life from full it that ok or does my battery has a problem ?

  43. stan188 on April 4, 2021 at 2:24 am

    10:10 typical asus lol

  44. Luna Lovegood on April 4, 2021 at 2:27 am

Removing headphone jacks for laptops makes no sense, usually I’m on it for several hours at a time (compared to a smartphone) so it’s a nuisance to have to charge wireless headphones

  45. Arthur Fonseca on April 4, 2021 at 2:29 am

Are BT headphones good enough to be used wirelessly with Windows? Last time I tried, there was still a lot of delay…

  46. Brett Jackson on April 4, 2021 at 2:30 am

I see the 4500U version on Best Buy for $600 that’s pretty insane. The crazy battery life and great build for normal use/students that’s a great deal.

i was looking to buy but have changed my mind now thanks for the honest review

  50. paulo silva on April 4, 2021 at 2:34 am

Honestly. Screw wireless. People that love hifi don’t use wireless headphones
