well, i have projects in which i need to calculate hundreds of excel sheets that take 45 mins in older PCs (2013 MSI PCs, quadcore), 20 mins in my MSI Core i7 10th Gen (hexa core), and 16 mins in my desktop PC (hexa core), so 16 cores would drastically improve my calculations times thus improving my productivity and capability of selling projects……. gaming wise, i’m a CIV 6, football manager player, which is CPU intensive, so it fits PERFECTLY on my needs

Not only is it a desktop killer but also a lap killer

    I can’t believe the 2080 max q only has a 180W charger I have a laptop with an i7 10750h and a 2070 115W and has a 230w charger

Both would be great for Mobile Digital Audio Workstations. I would like to see how they perform with music production software plug-ins and midi controllers like "Native Instrument Maschine 2" having 100 or more midi instrument & audio tracks with EFX and mixing EQ plug-ins applied to them.

how would that laptop not melt. I can hear the turbine fan and its idling…i feel like those would have some serious problems later on.

This is an awesome accomplishment! Cool laptop!

They are AMAZING. I have the Evo 15-s and it looks so good playing darker games with the AMOLED panel and it’s wicked fast for being able to fit under my shirt without notice.

Which one throtle faster and I hate noise

  11. Casy Chapin on March 2, 2022 at 12:02 am

I have been thinking about a small form factor high core count build. Something that could run two or three virtual machines for gaming at a friend’s house. I’m not going to be able to afford this but the idea is to redirect split screen gaming. Could you set up two or four vms to display to a large screen 4k TV consevably we would all only need to hang at 1080p. Or a weird 2080 narrow screen. That would be a challenge , super ultrawide 1080 top and bottom would be great

  16. Star the Kirby on March 2, 2022 at 12:09 am

The best laptops are always weaker than the best PCs on the market. However, no matter how realistically small you can shrink your battlestation, it will *never* have the same portability as the chunkiest laptop – else you risk downgrading their components

Source: used to own a 17.3" chonker that weighs 10 lbs. I also attempted to carry my MATX PC from America to Singapore.

Uhhh. The original xbox did not have a power brick… Smh… The xbox 360 did and the xbox one does but the original xbox had a internal power supply type deal.

  20. FlintingSun on March 2, 2022 at 12:12 am

Amd – I would run multiple operating systems, experiment with containers, and game. One thing about that though is I would like to see a 2k panel on it 165hz or something like that. Rant: AMD CPUs are never paired with serious GPUs (2070 being semi-serious). I think I am a fanboy. But it doesn’t change the fact AMD’s highest tier of paired GPUs in a laptop would be some variant of 2060. With exception to this Clevo style builds. Intel – gaming and productivity. I would prefer to have a 2k high refresh rate panel on that too.

  21. Tauhid on March 2, 2022 at 12:14 am

since when did the og xbox have a brick

until laptops reclaim the glory of MxM, they will never replace desktops

  23. M E on March 2, 2022 at 12:16 am

Hey Jay! 46 yr old single dad of 2 girls here. I used to build desktops, tinker with some OC stuff, etc. back in my younger days, but work, family, kids and the like unfortunately took me out of the scene for quite a few years till recently when I had to start looking at new laptops for myself earlier this year. So much has changed while I’ve been gone so I am learning A LOT these days! Also, I have been looking into upgrades for my daughters’ aging laptops to keep them plugging along for another year till I can hopefully afford to replace them next year. I’m a bit of a gamer (well, was back in the day, lol) I’m getting back into it again these days, and as the girls get older they are turning out to be into it as well. I love watching all your building videos because they take me back to a time where I REALLY enjoyed that sort of stuff. I miss it, and I’m itching to build something again, but just for the fun more than anything, as I don’t really have room or a need for a desktop these days. Laptops are where it’s at for us, lol. I just wanted to ask that you PLEASE continue to do these sorts of laptop reviews. I am finding them EXTREMELY useful in my search for the best bang for buck options to replace my daughters’ laptops for Christmas next year if $ allows for it. I went with lower end, non gaming laptops 3 years ago for them and they are struggling to handle the games they would prefer to play these days, so looks like I’ll be going for full on Gaming laptops next year and that’s going to be quite an expense as you can imagine, so any of your input, reviews, etc. between now and then will be greatly valued. Keep up the awesome job there. I really enjoy watching you guys, and even my youngest, at 11 years old has taken an interest in building through watching your videos with me and now has started talking about wanting to build a computer with me. I am really enjoying that she is taking an interest in this stuff and will try my best to support that in the hopes that it could turn into a solid foundation for a career for her some day. Anyway, thanks again for all you do and keep up the great work sir!

    Martin Englehart

DO NOT BUY!!!! Im feelin like I’m gonna cry. I paid $3600, waited two months after they told me I’d get my laptop. Finally got the thing three days ago, and the screen doesn’t sit flush with the chassis. As soon as I noticed it this morning the god damn screen stopped working. NOBODY BUY A EON15x Unless you love the feeling of being repeatedly kicked in the nuts. I seriously want to die just thinking about sending this laptop off for another three months after only owning it for three days.

  28. Darrell on March 2, 2022 at 12:23 am

You have made the same mistake as most reviewers online have made in regards to OLED. The vast majority of content on the web uses the RGB color space. As long as you have a color accurate RGB panel, you’re fine.

OLED is more vibrant, no question. It is also far more unforgiving for content that is highly compressed, such as YouTube and Netflix content.

I’m frankly tired of the misinformation regarding OLED in videos like this. Otherwise, nothing was featured here that I had not seen elsewhere presented in a more compressed format/presentation.

  38. Aircon Guy on March 2, 2022 at 12:40 am

weird that it has an amdi X cpu and a b450 board but not a single video about overclocking this laptop…

  39. Cedric Villani on March 2, 2022 at 12:40 am

Origin is bulk order OEM crap from Clevo just like Eluctronics and other’s. They didn’t make this at all, just paid for there logo to be put on and buy a box, they will also quadruple charge you for the pleasure and even more to paste it or add ram at insane prices, nice commercial lol

can one connect this 16 core laptop to an external GPU using .m2 slot. There are few videos on youtube using .m2 slot for connecting external gpu as shown in below link.

  41. Phil Sowden on March 2, 2022 at 12:42 am

Might be good for gaming but I won’t buy a 4K laptop for productivity. Most developer apps don’t scale well and things look microscopic at 4K res. My personal experience.

  42. Ernesto Pediangco on March 2, 2022 at 12:42 am

Comparing to the desktop variants and those expences…Laptop / Desktop replacement models ( I prefer 17" flagship models )… have more than twice the ultility considering form factor size, mobility and still being multi functional for gamers, pro production and entertainment. I still used old tech devices and media for entertainment using second hand free devices as intergrated add on / plug in componants and have innovated my own cooling solutions to defeat the heating issues for my laptop / studio desk top by using a metal cooling plate from old camping RV food & bev coolers. As long as its not so cold as to produce condensation moisture….it cools the entire area of the bottom of the lap top ( air intakes and chassis body ) and I never hear the fans while gaming. I can not do that on desktop chassis and then that requires more $$$ investment, time and materials and some micro management to achieve the same practical solutions to heat issues and performance. Overall, it has been a better overall investment. This makes my new 2012 laptop investment of near $3,000 a less painful prospect . I’m just waiting for the various brands flagship models to arrive at retailers & wholesalers to make my final selection due to specs and features.

These are Clevo custom built laptops. Origin just orders the laptop from Clevo, sticks in some RAM and an SSD and prints their logo onto the chassis. If you’re in the market for a gaming laptop, Clevo is the way to go but i bet you could find the same laptop for cheaper than what Origin are selling them for.
Heres the model number of the AMD one: "clevo NH55ac"

  46. Ricky Blanco on March 2, 2022 at 12:46 am

It’s funny to me how many people think "this is stupid for gaming!" without realizing that computers are needed for things other than games.. and not everyone wants to lug a desktop around when they are touring/traveling etc

  47. pato lobos on March 2, 2022 at 12:47 am

With 4 cores, doing a NLP topic modelling with 2 millions comments it takes me 12 hours (LDA, Gibbs). I will contact Origin if they can build a 32 cores epyc mobile solution, I need to Iterate a lot and having my time cut down from 12 hours to (with 32 cores) to 20 minutes makes a lot of sense.

Please review the new Dell G7 15 with the i5H and 1660 Ti. It has an 86WHr battery and has the potential to be a great long-battery gaming laptop for under $1,000. I want to know – how comfortable is the keyboard? How is the screen – is it calibrated enough to be okay for photo editing? What is the battery life? Please and thank you!
