Recommended features we didn’t mention in the video:
* HDMI Port: During presentations, you might be required to plug in your device to an already available larger screen. That is where these come handy.
* SD Card Slot: Architecture students require to take photographs during site visits. When in possession of a digicam, transferring images to the computer is easy through the SD Card slot
* Minimum two USB ports: One for the mouse (Yes. Buy a mouse. Keypads aren’t good enough). Other for connecting any other possible device.
* Numeric Keypad (optional): Software like AutoCAD require typing dimensions frequently. For easier workflow, the numeric keypad is really handy.

I was looking into the Razer Blade 15 but I’ve heard Razer sucks at customer service and that their laptops usually end up having problems around the first year or so of use. Does anyone have any experience with this?
I’ve also looked into the alienware M15 R3 and I’m honestly thinking of getting that one. Great specs and nice design. Only problem I have with it would be the fact that you can’t upgrade the RAM

Is MSI GL65 9SC laptop great too for architecture?
Not for students but for Jonure Architects or graduates. Asus Zephyrus G15 15 inch screen R7 4800H or R9 4900H and 16 rams or more , rtx 2060 or rtx 2070 (i would prefer waiting for the 3060, 3070) , 512 ssd or 1 Terra, a Logitec MX mouse the new version or even a good drawing touch pad with a pen. that’s it. enjoy
Running windows on macbook pro can we install pirated software of autocad & revit ? By downloading it by torrent or any other links ? As my student license is expired , even autodesk subscription is too expensive !
Please for the love of god do not waste your money on a Mac book pro. I know it’s hard to break away from the Apple ecosystem and they are beautiful machines, however macOS is not nearly as compatible with the software you WILL be using for all of your classes. Even today in 2020. And if you decide to go the boot camp route, not only will you be suffering processing and computing wise, you will also lose access to at least half of you hard drive/solid state drive.
Do not buy a Mac. Save your money or ball out on a way better pc. If you have the money to buy a MacBook Pro, then you have the money to get WAY more with the top of the line Razor blade or dell xps that he mentions earlier.
I have a16gb ram, PC Laptop, i7. 1T hard drive, with a "gaming" graphic card. Had Mac before and both works, but you will not be able to have all programs on Mac.
If you want a "workstation", I would consider a stationary computer, no laptop can keep up with it, and the price difference is tremendous.

Wow, ok … please do not buy a current MacBook for architecture if you want to do 3d renderings or any high level or motion graphics. Macs work great on cad programs and graphic design software..but .it doesn’t have the graphics card capable ( as of now ) to handle the high level of graphics as it isn’t built for that. They will be moving towards this direction soon but as of now, go with a pc . Or try to use a external gpu with your Mac.

If you have money to spend PLEASE do not buy a Macbook, they’re really expensive and you’re gonna struggle a lot with BIM related programs, which nowadays are essential for architects
I have mac pro but the specs don’t match the minimum requirements for running architecture softwares because when I first bought it I didn’t know I’d need high specs so I chose the lowest specs. Now I need Parallel to run most of the architecture softwares and it’s straining my poor computer bad. Is there a way to upgrade my mac pro or should buy new one??? Help…TT

Hey I am a architecture student so among hp Omen Ryzen 5 4600h hexa core with 6 GB 1660ti or Ryzen 7 4800h octa core with 4 GB 1650ti which you recommend

What about Razer Blade Studio 15? Many would argue it is better than Macbook Pro 16.
As an update get a ryzen powered laptop for better performance with 8 cores instead of intel. 16 gb ram, 6gb gpu would be good enough for college. For heavier rendering 8gb gpu, 32 gb ram would be good, but in this case get a PC workstation Instead.
Dont bother with Mac’s because they dont support many things, have got one but I only work on autocad 2d on it. I dont know why but my mac(i5, 8 gb ram, 256ssd) with same spec as another windows laptop in my office performs worse in 3d softwares. I think Windows is better optimised for most archi softwares.
