Panasonic Inverter Microwave- new technology review
Panasonic Inverter Microwave- new technology review
The newest technology in microwaves is inverter technology- championed by Panasonic and licensed to GE. The inverter lets the microwave actually cook at different powers. Traditional microwaves have psudo power levels- but they really are always cooking at either full power or no power. Using an inverter lets the Panasonic microwaves simmer foods and defrost evenly and completely.
This is the biggest piece of junk out there today mine lasted two months panasonic anything is garbage
You’re a great reviewer! Would love to hear your thoughts on convection microwaves and how they compare to inverter ones, apparently they can cook evenly too.
You never followed up with a 2nd review of how well it did or did not work, not that I could find.
This it a whole bunch of BS. PWM modulation is used in all, both inverter- and HV-transformer microwaves! Any magnetron always works at 100% power, and the only way to implement different power levels is to PWM. Of course there’s no difference for defrosting and such.
My new Panasonic caught fire. Is the plastic inside the door supposed to be removed
H 98 ERROR! !!
Where’s the follow-up?
They are crap
The microwave is awesome . . .the door latch is ridiculously cheap and loud when the door is closed. The cheapness of the door latch means that unless you want to take the cover off and bend the door latch assembly bracket over occasionally to make it possible to get the door to register as closed without hitting it with your fist. Definately do not recommend the ones built by Panasonic (they say to just keep taking it in for service) . . . perhaps GE builds them less cheaply.
A "review" buy a guy who has never actually used the thing?
He meant Pulse Width Modulation – not Pulse Wave Modulation. There is no such thing.
There is no rocket science to this technology. It just hasn’t been applied to a microwave oven until now.
It is used all the time to control things like variable speed blenders, food processors, tools and dimmable lights.
my.panasonic..inverter.microwaromve..20.years
panasonic microwaves are very reliable my last 18 years old half way still working but think turntable motor maybe going out its last 3 times longer then my Amana aka kenmore so go with panasonic
My Panasonic Inverter microwave oven has been operating continuously since 2006, and I use mine several times a day. I recommend them to friends, but the problem is that nearly everybody thinks every microwave oven is the same as any other. The Inverter technology allows continuous simmering at lower energy levels and once you know what level to use for whatever you’re cooking (oatmeal, pasta) there are no more boilovers. Also, these have some of the largest internal volumes per exterior volume of any microwave ovens.
So the term "inverter" is a lie, and these actually use the opposite (a rectifier) to work. There ought to be a law prohibiting deliberately misleading nomenclature.
Think about it: an inverter is what creates AC electricity. To apply an "inverter" to an AC power source is worse than pointless.
very unreliable brand.

Question: I bought a panasonic NN 968 W a few years ago, possibly 8 years, today I it was in use and all of a sudden it stopped and a code appear on the reader H98. Would you know what it means and what needs to be done to fix it?
Thank you.
hey guys you can get your durable microwave at amazon link down below

I have the same model and same problem the door will Not stay open
I will NEVER buy another panasonic product again -as long as I live. I bought this microwave and the metal holding the door safety interlock assembly is so flimsy that it constantly needs to be bent back into position. Panasonic USED to make decent equipment, and this microwave is a really nice one. I could have paid a LOT LESS, but I figured quality costs. Not so with panasonic. Junk. -I also purchased a panasonic DVD / VHS combo unit (DMR-EZ-48V) brand new from a local chain store. Both of these products didn’t eve last a year before they started failing. I paid almost $300.00 for the DVD combo unit. I replaced it with a used pawn shop Samsung that is still performing flawlessly for $50.00. I was really upset when the microwave failed about 1 year after purchase. It’s not worth my time to argue with some stonewaller in customer service, or the shipping to send anything back.. but I will cut, copy paste and tell others: IF YOU WANT PANASONIC PRODUCTS -DONT COUNT ON ANYTHING LASTING MORE THAN 1 YEAR. IT WILL FAIL YOU -just like panasonics (past good) reputation has failed me twice in the last 3 years…
after using nnsn-755s once it is locked with a key symbol. what to do. not working
Mine was a 1.1 GE that lasted 9 years. I just brought a huge 2.2 Panasonic inverter type. Way too big imo. But the family likes it. :/
Good overview. I have had 2 Panasonic 1200 Watt 1.6 cu ft microwaves (2004, 2007) with inverter technology and also 18 "Genius" auto sensor cooking menu options. My last one gave out this week and looking at the current models. I use my microwaves a lot to heat up and also cook food. Whether someone gets good use from the inverter and sensor technologies may depend on how the microwave is used, but technologies both were very much a benefit for me.
I loved my microwaves and got a lot of use out of them. Currently looking to get another and figuring out the latest models. Definitely recommend!
These are the worst microwaves they don’t cook well and it takes them time to heat ! I had two of them and am unsatisfied!
… and no follow-up
Breaker tirip problem & why check oven. please help me.
I just bought a used one of these and need the operation manual. Does anyone know where I can get one?
Years ago my first or second microwave was a Panasonic. It turned out to be a piece of sheet so I refused to buy one again until six months ago when I needed to replace my microwave that still worked but rusting out because it is old. Sure as sheet. This Panasonic suck and does not work. NEVER AGAIN.
I
The inverter has so many points of failure and it built so porly. I have a Panasonic over the range microwave I just bought off someone to repair and the inverter being shorted was the issue. It’s all made from the cheapest Chinese components with a pcb that the traces and solder pads break on when soldering to it and there’s an additional three wires that hook up to it where two of the pins must short half a second after it starts to prevent you from putting something else back into it.
It may work good enough for you to do a review and last through the warranty but it will never last anywhere near as long as the microwaves with just a regular transformer and can’t be repaired easily without replacing the entire board.
I’m very disappointed to have found such trash replacing the reliable transformer, efficiency and various power levels don’t really pay off when it’s so prone to crapping out after such a small amount of time.
I don’t like those ring things that spin the tray, they erode the paint on the bottom then the oven gets rusty and the bottom gets holes. Almost all new microwave ovens have those rings, I see it like a big scam, I hope some people can class action them.
Just thought I’d mention, had my Panasonic combination microwave, dimension 4, in 1983 has just decided to retire.
how is it doing over the last few years
If you’re only using it to heat things up and not defrost or cook meat. Then you don’t need the inverter technology.
I just bought mine a month ago I really hope it last for years to come
Please translate into Arabic
Had this tech in my microwave 30+ years ago
could simmer for hours, with timer too, was the best slow cooker i had
just cant remember name and also had no turntable
and was second hand when I bought it
couldn’t find another micro that cooked the same since
Do these inverter microwave ovens allow to reduce the power while cooking like on a gas stove without restarting it with a new programme? They seem to be lacking a knob for that. Let’s say I bring the food to a boiling point and see that the level is rising and about to spill over.
I had a Samsung brand that cooked the food at full power for 30 seconds and then another 30 seconds the power was off. It was crap. Not sure what is wrong with it, because it failed with "P2" code, the display is fully lit and it won’t start. I suspect it is in the electronics, which were unncessary if none of the reduced power programmes could actually be used.
Answer your comments. You BOZO
bought mine in 2011(stainless steel version) . it is still going strong in 2018. cooks tv dinners fully with wrap left on using sensor reheat button and start. those 2 buttons are the only 2 i really ever use. no cold spots anywhere ever.
Where is 2nd review?
Panasonic microwaves are garbage, older models from the 90’s and earlier when they were made in Japan were
good and reliable, not anymore. And for the expensive ones that say
they are made in Japan, they are only assembled in Japan, all the parts
are made in China.
Just so you know I had a microwave that was NOT a inverter system instead it had multiple windings on the trans former for different output’s without turning on the transformer on and of consistently. It was a GE microwave.
what is the cubic feet of this microwave?
ps panasonic owened Emerson till 2011
Panasonic with Inverter Tech is the ONLY M-Wave I will ever buy again. My previous "basic" Panasonic lasted 10+years and was also great. My 1250 watt inverter by Pana still going strong after 6+ years of everyday use. Food come out fantastic! LOVE Panasonic
our microwave –panasonic inverter model no. NN-SD681S starts burning at wave guide–whats wrong?
Have one of these from the late 90s I keep in storage as a backup, I’m using it now because my over the range stopped working from the door switch going bad till I can repair it. It still works great, love the inverter and sensor cooking.
baked spuds in a Panasonic Combi need to be tasted to be believed! Fluffy baked spuds! perfect every time.
