Good morning, very interesting, I have the LG-V30 from 2017, with its incredible manual control, with LOG recording, .. What current smartphones have LOG recording?, … I consider essential to record in professional mode, without having to use third-party applications, such as Filmic. Greetings.

Now I’ve wasted 5 minutes listening to you listing specs I can look up myself or already know. Furthermore, you’re all over the place with including the design of the iPhone and the freaking MacBook.
This video is all over the place and has nothing of actual value.

I was planning on sticking with my paid for Samsung S9 which has been great. However, I keep getting the offers from my carrier for a free S21 5G if I trade in my S9. Yes, it requires a 24 month service commitment, but I’m already paying for all that anyway and have no plans to switch carriers either. So the only real costs there is a new case. I just ordered a DJI Osmo 4. Sold my original Osmo a few months ago. I like my S9, but I’m thinking if I go investing in a cage and perhaps an anamorphic or other lens and ND filters I might as well buy them for a new platform with a longer service life. Hearing that old song "Should I stay or should I go?" Actually having those thoughts on a relationship right now too. Probably a short film idea or two in there. I guess I’m looking for some nudging. Should I commit and go with the S21? Is the camera and native software that much more to make the switch a real go for it situation?

Btw, I just discovered your videos and they are excellent. Last night I had 8 or so tabs open with several of the titles that appealed the most and it was just, Like, Save for future viewing, next.

  43. DoingIT Local on August 26, 2021 at 11:21 pm

I’m here because I just purchased the Samsung 21 Ultra over the iPhone 12 Pro Max for the reasons you cited. What brought me here was the Ultra 21 has a known camera over-heat issue which no review ever mentioned. Just Google it or go to Samsung Members page. I don’t have anything running other than the camera. Low light and a good zoom is important. If you check my YouTube channel I’m a news reporter and most of my work is at night. Any suggestions?

  44. Sario Falhal on August 26, 2021 at 11:22 pm

Bigger the sensor better video. Smaller sensors always give inconsistent results. The best phone would be sharp aquos r6 with 1 inch sensor

  45. Brainpope on August 26, 2021 at 11:22 pm

Thank you so much for this video. I am a filmmaker and came here through my search for cinematic smartphones. Herer are my 2 cents: One of the most important issue for filmmakers on smartphones is whether or not you can turn off artificial sharpening. Artificial sharpening draws very thin black lines around outlines and leaves the impression that it’s sharper because the contrast is higher. But at the same time it makes videos kind of ugly. As a result, it’s not possible to match these videos with footage from Procams, which is what you want if you’re using your smartphone as a second unit/backup cam for special situations. As far as I found out, you can’t turn off artificial sharpening on the Iphone, but you can on some Samsung models. So that’s what I’m currently looking for. I would tend to use the filmic pro app anyway because it seems to be quite well developed and allows you to change smartphone models but keep the same UI.

Really glad you touched on the v60, a truly high quality, feature packed flagship at considerably lower price than the competition.

  48. Rondogz on August 26, 2021 at 11:27 pm

someone needs to create a "smart camera". looks just like a smartphone but fill it with top of the line camera tech and leave out the communication technology.

  49. Sadiquecat on August 26, 2021 at 11:27 pm

I value the easy access SD card, and jack port a lot from the Sony.
Being able to hook up a microphone to like a rode wireless go is a very nice feature 😛
