I’ve been shopping at Home Depot for years (i think we all have) but these home depot secrets are some of the best home depot tips and tricks that I know. I was watching videos from Company Man and VCG Construction and I thought why not make a 10 shopping secrets video about home depot.

Get all sku numbers of items you want to purchase ..must be above $2500 Take list of sku #s to one of those people and tell them to take this order and summit it to Bid Room. Trust me….This is why i was top Sales person. the more money you spend the more money you will get discounted. i have seen up to $4000 taken of orders as big as $10000
Unfortunately most of the Home Depot’s in my area only have terrible items at 5 to 10% discount.

I’m confused about the 03 and 06. If the item ends in 03…example…$30.03, does that apply to $30.93 too? Same with 06. Example, $30.06 is the same as $30.96?

Every department in HD has a close-out end cap. You’ll find yellow tagged items there as well as throughout the store. Christmas 🎄 decorations go up October 1. Halloween 🎃 decorations go up in August.

I just wonder how many people return dead plants as most of us will just throw away or misplace the receipt.
two things with this. the number in the price does not always dictate the clearance time frame. it is a good judge but it normally comes down to the supply and sales. if it hasn’t sold well it’s clearance process will be much quicker just to get it off the shelves. and the 2nd thing is that the box damage means nothing. the DC, sorters or us as a freight crew may jack a box up. it is up to the cashier to do their job and actually inspect the product to make sure if it’s damaged or not. just because a box is damaged doesn’t mean that the item inside is also.

As a FORMER HD employee, those hand held computers have a clearance section that only employees can access… the employees cant GET the benefits of shopping the clearance….but they can tell you what items are on sale in which departments!
Caveat: Dont think that you’ll be helped… cuz we dont like you….lol

The problem with "equal item" is that most store chains nowadays have identical items with different model numbers so two chains will not carry the same model. Started in electronics stores…
You keep mentioning that the consumer has all this time to decide, but you’re forgetting something. Associates are pushed to upsell anything that has started dropping in price or is a "special" sale. Stores also only get so many of each item in stock. If the customer waits too long, it will sell out before they get to it.

Dont forget You can send all big orders $2500 to the bid room by a specialist or the pro desk. Just an FYI. Just ask them it is true. I was a Flooring Specialist their. I was top sales person several times…This is probably the biggest secret
one key thing i’ve found out as an employee is that if something goes on clearance and doesn’t sell it eventually ends up being marked down to a penny and that’s how we know to trash it or send it back to the DC. now if you can find something that has been marked down to a penny on the shelf you can actually buy it for that price. they will argue it at the register saying that it wasn’t supposed to be on the shelf but if you stick to your guns they will be forced to let it go. we have countless things in the overheads that are supposed to be gone but they either get lost or ignored and i’ve been able to get my hands on some pretty nice stuff because it wasn’t cleared out.

I work at home depot and 6 is partly true…you can actually go up to ANY home depot associate and they can give you up to $50 off depending on what the retail value is as long as you make sure that they follow you to the register. You don’t need to go to the service desk

ive had really good return experience w Home depot, I was amazed how easy it was and they even offered me Cash, store credit or back on the card options on a $400 miter saw …it was to big so i just needed a smaller one lol….Also a portable evap cooler i used it for a month and wasnt cooling my garage enough and again no questions asked
Home Depot has a better delivery service? Not with my refrigerator delivery! It took FOUR delivery attempts for me to get a flawless refrigerator delivered. First attempt, the delivery contractor would not put the refrigerator door opening from the correct side. Attempt 2: scrape damage on the door. Attempt 3: Damage to the top.
I work at a Home Depot down in south Florida. We ALWAYS accept competitor coupons from Lowes, but other hardware stores are up to the discretion of the manager on duty.
Don’t fight the associates to get a discount, just be nice and you will have more luck. Also managers are pussies and will drop their pants to everybody.
