You know, for a minute there I thought that smartphone launches this year were gonna be as stale as the year itself, but I’m actually happy that I was wrong. I’d call this the year of refinement, not just of hardware or features, but also of approaches. On one end we saw companies perfect the foldable ideal they continue to pursue, and on the other we saw companies embrace the mid-ranger, at a time when great and affordable phones are much more valuable to the current state of our society.
This is actually the first time that we do a smartphone awards for the year, and we chose to do so to praise the effort manufacturers have taken. Yes, this hasn’t been an easy year for any of us, but it’s also not been an easy year for companies. Supply chains stopped, demand dropped, and yet they somehow managed to deliver some of the best products we’ve seen. To them, our respects. Great price that’s worth saving up for and has every feature you need making every phone that’s more expensive just not worth it. Though for me, I love the few extra features on the OnePlus 8T like 65w charging (39 minutes to 100%) and Oxygen OS. But that’s just me, most people should just buy the S20 FE.
wanna watch a honest reviewer.. watch these guys… want a biased channel with Apple up their ass , then go to CNET, everything apple etc… they will justify just about everything Apple does.

Aesthetic doesn’t matter. The vast majority of your viewer base will slap a case on their phone negating the back of the phone every single time.
And can’t stand Apple iOS. Apple is a prison I never want to be locked into ever.

Hey great video love the way you present. Excitement for tech in your voice is very evident 😊. iPhone and Samsung at there best. They make smartphones that are desirable. However I want apple to start experimenting more like Samsung does….they have the resources, money and technology come on apple you can do better. For me 2 phones stand out Note 20 ultra and fold 2 I have used both of them but I love my iPhone 12!!

why are we surprised that Apple was able to cram the iPhone 12 mini in a small form factor? It’s the same size as the older iPhone models like the 4, 4s, 5, 5s so we know they can deliver.

How the oppo find X2 pro avoids all of these lists is beyond me. I tried everything from the Sony Xperia 1 II to note 20 ultra, pixel 5 and oneplus 8 pro and none match it overall.

Instead of buying a 5G phone I just got the very good 4g one plus 7 pro 8 ra, 256 gig for 400 and under. Sure a old one plus flag ship but it feels like a 2020 flagship. The one plus stock experience has made switching over from my xs max not so bad.

I am not an iPhone fan at all, kinda skeptical if it comes to Apple in general, but the beat compact smartphone is a no brainer and definitely is the iPhone 12 mini. It’s just too expensive in Europe.

Google pixel 5 is horrible design wise.
I got the Z fold 2 thanks to the incredible trade-in deals they have, and it is by far my favorite phone I’ve ever used.

Best smartphone of the year for me, is the Pixel 4A or the OnePlus 8 Pro. The Pixel 4a is cheap but has the features of a flagship Pixel device and the camera is amazing. The OnePlus 8 Pro has almost every feature of the Note 20 Ultra, but $300-$400 cheaper.
