Loved gnome 2 so for me its Ubuntu mate

  2. Bibaswan Chakraborty on August 4, 2021 at 9:21 pm

I would put PopOS on 1

  3. Lucian on August 4, 2021 at 9:21 pm

Solus. This distro deserves more respect.

  4. Stephen Walker on August 4, 2021 at 9:21 pm

There doesn’t mean to be much love for ubuntu in the linux community, why is this? I made the switch from windows 10 to ubuntu over a year ago and I have no issues whatsoever.

  5. karthick velavan on August 4, 2021 at 9:25 pm

I Like Kde neon & it’s kde plasma. It works more better than gnome Ubuntu and Debian variants. And I don’t need arch just because, stable versions is enough for me!

  6. ananthu giridhar on August 4, 2021 at 9:26 pm

U have to try garuda Linux🔥

  7. mariuspy on August 4, 2021 at 9:27 pm

I am curious why fedora is not in your ranking (not that I think it should). I wonder if using for example a ubuntu-based distro, like KDE Neon, which is based on Debian, it doesn’t add too much overhead ( this is just common sense, I am not geek). It wouldn’t be better to use OpenSuse. Arch or Manjaro are very popular also, but too many updates, like you say, not much time to fix things all the time.

  8. Rob on August 4, 2021 at 9:31 pm

Ubuntu Gnome is my favourite. I’ll give KDE Neon a chance in virtualbox. Normally, I’ve not been a fan of KDE, though.

I’ve got 2 laptops, in the long run the one with Manjaro Xfce was more stable than Linux Mint. I’m talking about 4 years (!) comparison. Yes, Linux Mint is running stable until you do a big upgrade and it breaks. Happened twice! Recently changed the second laptop to Manjaro, too. I prefer the rolling relase update model, and Manjaro team is doing an incredible job.

  10. ARITRYA MLBB on August 4, 2021 at 9:32 pm

LINUX MINT SHOULD BE AT 2ND PLACE NOT MANJARO XFCE! I HATE MANJARO XFCE! UNSTABLE! LOL!

  11. Kalea Zentog on August 4, 2021 at 9:32 pm

Ubuntu 18.04 Mate is my favourite linux distro.

  12. ARITRYA MLBB on August 4, 2021 at 9:33 pm

THE DRIVER SELECTION FOR MY OLD LAPTOP FOR MANJARO XFCE BETWEEN OPEN SOURCE AND PROPREIETARY IS HEADACHE TO CHOOSE! IT TURNS OUT THAT PROPRIETARY DRIVERS WOULD PERFORM BETTER BECAUSE I HAD HUGE PROBLEMS WITH OPENSOURCE DRIVERS DURING INSTALLATION!

  13. San4itos on August 4, 2021 at 9:34 pm

For now I have Manjaro Budgie on my PC with Arco Linux repos. But I’m looking at OpenSuse Gnome or Fedora to try.
But Linux Mint is in my heart. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try Linux on the first place.

  16. Son on August 4, 2021 at 9:35 pm

Fedora 33 is my favorite distro

  17. HEX on August 4, 2021 at 9:38 pm

    Where Arch??

  18. Robert Varga on August 4, 2021 at 9:40 pm

I’m a Fedora guy mainly, and some others to test out others for fun. But Fedora IS my daily drive forever.

  19. ARITRYA MLBB on August 4, 2021 at 9:41 pm

i had installed MANJARO XFCE ON MY 10 YEAR OLD LAPTOP UNFORTUNATELY I INSTALLED AND UPDATED ALL THE KERNALS ALL KINDS OF VIDEO AND PHTO EDITING SOFTWARE AND IMPORTED VISUAL TWEAKS AND IT STARTED HANGING A LOT!
SIMPLY BECAUSE WHEN I RUN A RANDOM SOFTWARE , IT WOULD RUN SO MANY PACKAGES IN THE BACKGROUND TO SUPPORT THE SIFTWARE, ACTUALLY SNAP PACKAGES STOPPED INSTALLING AND RUNNING N MANJARO XFCE, I DONT KNOW WHY! .DEB PACKAGES AND ARCH REPOSITORY PACKAGES HAD A PROBLEM THEY DONT SHOW ICONS WHEN I SEARCHED FOR THEM AFTER INSTALLING, FURTHER I HAD TO RESTART SEVERAL TIMES AFTER UPDATES
MANJARO XFCE IS THE WORST FOR ME
THEN I INSTALLLED LINUX MINT XFCE! IT IS SO SUPREMELY STABLE AND NO MORE SNAPS OR ARCH REPOSITORIES ETC. NO HEADACHE! JUST SIMPLY INSTALL FLATPACKS WHICH RUN MORE SMOOTHLY IN LINUX MINT XFCE THAN MANJARO XFCE! I DONT KNOW WHY! AND THEY TAKE LESS TIME TO LOAD ALSO!

  20. OnSide Live on August 4, 2021 at 9:41 pm

I am a new Linux user I have used a lot of distros the best Linux distro which I liked ( out of the box expirience) Feren Os and Linux Mint. My laptop was unstable with Linux mint and Ubuntu ( wifi and other driver problem)
    Laptop specs- Amd Rhyzen 5 3550 H
    8 Gb Ram
AMD Vega 8 graphics with Nvidia GTX 1650
    Everything is good.
But the Linux can’t get fit in my laptop. Whichever Linux I tried to use it has some faults like Linux Mint – I can’t install it. It crashes on the welcome screen each and every time and in case of Ubuntu the wifi stopped working after 3 days And the Live patch crashes. Incase of Feren Os the laptop was unable to shut down properly each time I need to press the power button to force shut down. And incase of Zorin Os My WiFi didn’t work at all and also the screen rotates and can’t reverse back. I have very bad experience with Linux by the way. Though I have installed all Linux distro in a fresh way meaning totally removing and formatting windows. So I thought that is the lack of ability of my laptop, so I didn’t put pressure on him and revert back to Windows. (Though I don’t want 😞)

My favourite Linux distribution is Ubuntu, but I like most desktop Linux distros that has a Gnome desktop and Snap and Flatpack support

  22. Slamdozer Kachna on August 4, 2021 at 9:43 pm

    Manjaro XFCE 🙂

  32. Gerard Klooster on August 4, 2021 at 9:51 pm

Debian Testing mate here, have been hopping around a lot but stick now to this. No surprises and always working as intended eventhough it is the teste branche. Hopping time is over as it consumes a lot of time.

How about kodachi distro? Can you make a video about it?

I recently switched to windows 10, it’s almost as bad as ubuntu, but it can run windows games out of the box.

  37. Ricardo de Sena on August 4, 2021 at 9:56 pm

Hi, the video was very good. I am wanting to put what you did to show the use of the computer shown in the time of 0.52 s. Can I put it on Manjaro? If so, which application does this? Thank you.

  39. Avant on August 4, 2021 at 10:00 pm

What desktop environment would you use, if KDE didn’t exist?

  40. redherring on August 4, 2021 at 10:01 pm

My first Linux was Mint (MATE), great, reliable distro, best choice for beginners. After 7 years I wanted to try something new and switched to Manjaro, that occured to be a failure – after one update computer started to freeze very often, that shaded all advantages. Now I’m running OpenSUSE (Leap KDE) and I find it a very good choice, rock solid and clear, though a bit heavy. Also, once I’ve installed and dual booted Arch – it was not that difficult, but the distro itself was a bit tiring. I didn’t manage to install Gentoo, maybe in future…

  41. cccincocc on August 4, 2021 at 10:04 pm

I’m still looking for a favorite but I haven’t tried Manjaro yet – I keep forgetting about it but I agree on everything else except KDE. I just don’t like it. It reminds me of those big fat crayons little kids use, which can be fun, sometimes, but not everyday. Currently, I’m stuck in Ubuntu on an older computer as I haven’t had time for computer play and it was the install I’d finished but, since it was intended for exploration rather than work, I didn’t configure updating so it’s currently stuck in limbo having missed 2 upgrades and now I’m beginning to have issues with this old hardware plus I bricked my laptop which wouldn’t allow any linux booting except via one of the first live "Slax" CDs and it won’t even do that, now so…it’s time…plus, maybe I’ll come across the tweak that bricked my laptop that I can’t remember so I can unbrick it, ROFL! As it was basically my TV/DVD player when it was Windoz XP – my current box has begun referring to the DVD-ROM as a CD-ROM which is also making a lot of noise so, who knows how long that will last. Still plays DVDs though. Can’t wait to format this old HDD which, according to SpinRite, is still perfectly fine and you can’t even hear it – despite its age. WHAT a mess! ROFL!! But I love it!

    Manjaro with gnome is God

  46. ThePressurizer on August 4, 2021 at 10:13 pm

"Debian is the father of all Linux distros" … whoah, no. Debian is one of the oldest distros around, but Slackware is older. And not all distros are Debian-based. I like your videos, but that’s just falt out wrong.

  47. 4of92000 on August 4, 2021 at 10:13 pm

I use Debian Testing with Plasma—it’s kinda quirky, but it’s good for what I’m going for
