I have an HP Envy 15 with a quad core 2.5 ghz AMD A10 processor, 1 TB of storage, and 8 gb of ram. I bought it for $600 on sale. And it’s from 2013! I usualy toss my laptops every year but this one is showing 0 signs of wear. I love the beats audio and the backlit LED keyboard is amazing. I’ll definitely make a return to HP again. Too bad the battery is going out on it.

I would like to know what would be best for a beginner vlogger and affordable nothing over $600. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

This video is very misleading. You can’t just go with the processor name like i5/i7 anymore as some i5’s can actually perform better then a i7 due to the power saving models that end in a U. Even some i7’s aren’t considered quad cores but duo cores with hyper threading. 8GB of ram should be the minimum now and the resolution of the screen should be taken into count and not just the screen size. Many other factors as well, such as if your planning to throw away the laptop every 2-3 years then adjust your budget accordingly. My Sony Vaio S is almost 6 years and still serves me well. Honestly if I were to buy a laptop now I would either go with a high end macbook pro with its super fast storage or something like a Gigabyte p35x. Both are pretty thin and pack powerful specs.

What about light gaming such as playing minecraft ( Lots of mods ), roblox, and sims (with alpha cc ) without any lag every day, are on a " less than $600 USD budget" and are only planning on keeping it home?

I only need a laptop which I could blog on, edit elevator videos & run skyscrapersim & the surface pro 4 is perfect for that

  17. Lauren on August 4, 2021 at 10:01 pm

Hire tech savvy people instead of winging these videos. You’re giving people terrible advice that anyone with Google access can debunk.

  18. Radi0he4d1 on August 4, 2021 at 10:01 pm

Unless you do a lot of video editing, i5s will satisfy your gaming needs.

I paid $499 for my thinkpad E555, and it has an amd a10, 500gb of storage, and 4gb of RAM which can easily be upgraded to 8gb or more. This is why I don’t like Consumer Reports…

  22. StalePhish on August 4, 2021 at 10:04 pm

How is the 2-in-1 a new trend? Those things came out in 2001… that was 14 years ago! We had them in the IT department when I worked at a college about 10 years ago because they were like a laptop in the office but then we could flip the screen around to use it like a tablet when we were walking around outside. I guess it’s because people forget that the tablet-shaped computer was already a thing LONG before the iPad came into existence.
