I use steam all the time but I also think it is worth it to get epic games launcher because every week they pick a random game that you can download for free and if you get it within the time it is free you keep it forever. I have steam and epic games launcher on my pc I think it is worth it to get both
I don’t watch videos on my computer (other than YouTube) so that doesn’t bother me. But I do play audio files (wav or CD). What I like most about VLC is the built-in graphic equaliser.

For my music/video playing, I do use VLC (for movies) and Windows Media Player (for music). Works great for me, except for a recent update that caused WMP to have a problem with the _visualizations._ They work when I first open WMP and paly music, but when it switches to the next song on the playlist or a curtain amount of time goes by, the _visualization_ stop working.

I do use Steam these days. Not a fan of the idea, However some good games are only found on Steam or similar game store apps. I like it better when people have there own website to download their games and it’s has info/link on another _website_ that provides a list of games out there. But Steam is my choice of game store app to get games that are only available on it or another game store app.

I used to use OBS, but it became a problem for my PC when a certain update came around for Windows and OBS, then I switched to OBS Studio which had worked beautifully for me since that time. I will use it for streaming when I live somewhere with good internet. I also use it for recording video. Could be video of playing a game or just me on my webcam having a conversation about a certain topic, etc.

ShareX sends your screen captures to some stinky server. How I found out? I run a apps that detects in and outgoing traffic. Of course I removed ShareX immediately. There is no functional requirement for a screen capture app to connect to a server anywhere other than serving another ones purpose than mine.
I have used 7zip in the past, but now I use WinRAR.
I don’t do Torrents any more. Haven’t used any for a long time. I used to use µTorrent, years ago, then gave it up.

Yup! Discord is definitely my choice for voice/video chat & text chat. Although it does have a game streaming option, I will do my streaming with OBS Studio on Twitch or YouTube.

Google Chrome is my choice. Works best for me. I don’t do anything that requires a different one and the setup works for me, etc. It is the only one I use. I even removed Internet Explorer and Edge that Windows puts on there. I don’t want other browsers on my PC.
