  6. Krattle Rattle on July 7, 2021 at 2:28 am

It only blocked one of 16 ransom ware I simulated on a virtual machine.. You absolutely need antiviral programs.. Just not McAfee or Norton lol

  7. vapoureyes on July 7, 2021 at 2:29 am

Would it work on windows 7

  8. Deejay Tiktok on July 7, 2021 at 2:30 am

  10. The Gamer on July 7, 2021 at 2:31 am

    Windows Defender is literal trash

  11. Wesker Hood on July 7, 2021 at 2:32 am

I use Bullguard along side Windows defender

  12. Parks-Lewis Family on July 7, 2021 at 2:36 am

Yeah but it does not have advanced features like root kit scan

  13. Adrien Broner on July 7, 2021 at 2:39 am

Windows defender can easily be broken through as proven over the years.

  14. Marelize Mans on July 7, 2021 at 2:40 am

What if it shows no active antivirus provider?

  15. small guy on July 7, 2021 at 2:41 am

wow… big brain… windows just made the antivirus themselves… who would’ve thought?

but fr tho why didn’t they focus on those things sooner….

  16. CoolDudeClem on July 7, 2021 at 2:43 am

Stop buying antivirus and use common sense instead. Best A/V you will ever use.

  17. Arthur Danielles on July 7, 2021 at 2:44 am

Interesting vid and yes you are absolutely right re Windows Defender etc 👀HOWEVER I still use Norton 360 Deluxe which incidentally covers 3 of our desktop computers AND 2 mobile phones WITH VPN etc for less than £25.00 PER YEAR. (Price current at the time of my latest renewal – 3rd July 2021 and can vary)👀WHY? you might well ask ? Because research shows that Windows Defender works well BUT it does NOT (and has been tried and tested to show it does NOT) block every threat ESPECIALLY if you run a scan et or log into a program that has a threat OFFLINE ie NOT connected to the internet.👀 It is like some programs, heavily reliant on an internet connection. YES, Norton is as well particularly for UPDATING or DOWNLOADING the latest UPDATES. 👀 If you have just bought a piece of kit ie laptop, desktop and you DON’T have an anti virus / malware purchased proprietary program installed then DO make sure with WINDOWS 10 that you activate Windows Defender as this vid shows etc. 👀NEVER EVER connect your gear to the internet WITHOUT a FIREWALL et or anti virus/malware protection in place.

Does Windows have a boot time scan or is it still proprietary to Avast?

  20. Rajavel S on July 7, 2021 at 2:47 am

  22. Puro on July 7, 2021 at 2:49 am

You can get any antivirus that requires a license for free if you know where to search

  23. Fahad AlAli on July 7, 2021 at 2:50 am

    Thank you

  24. GG tha Hoeless P on July 7, 2021 at 2:52 am

is it safe to say this service is free so the nsa can and will monitor your activity without your consent? since they failed to disclose let the record reflect the awareness of the fraud being perpetuated on those unwitting…yes ill still accept the free antivirus thank you very much .

  25. xadam2dudex on July 7, 2021 at 2:52 am

PS Microsoft also every month pushes out thru update the security program called Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool (MSRT) to scan for malware .. So that shows how Windows Defender is deficient

  26. Phuong Do Family USA on July 7, 2021 at 2:53 am

No, because I need protection for not just Windows and it doesn’t have a VPN, Mobile App, and a Password Manager.

  27. ronch550 on July 7, 2021 at 2:56 am

I just use Avast Free. It works well enough.

  28. Don Peters on July 7, 2021 at 2:57 am

I do have a question. I agreed about the security of Microsoft Antivirus built in Windows 10. Does Windows 10 has the same features as Malwarebytes Premium? I do have a lifetime subscription with Malwarebytes Premium and System Mechanics Professional with built in System Shield Antivirus. Ransomware has been attacking computers, can Windows 10 offer protection on Ransomware like Malwarebytes Premium?

  29. TheLordbal on July 7, 2021 at 2:58 am

um i haven’t used an anti-virus since the 90’s lol

  30. xadam2dudex on July 7, 2021 at 2:59 am

Ok Windows 10 has the same antivirus in it that has been used by Microsoft for years called Windows Defender which has been tested by security companies .. Its been a part of Windows for years .. It is used as a benchmark for the minimum performance .. Any antivirus has to do better before this low level of performance ..

  33. Ped-Away-G on July 7, 2021 at 3:00 am

    windows defender is… well… i’d say… pathetic.
some free antiviruses do way better both in terms of detection rate and performance impact.

  34. Debraj Das on July 7, 2021 at 3:01 am

Run some ransomware scripts with MS defender on. We’ll talk then.

  35. J.R. Zippie on July 7, 2021 at 3:01 am

👍…I switched from Norton afew years ago. Windows Defender has performed flawlessly ever since….saving me $$$$

  39. Roger Ramjet on July 7, 2021 at 3:05 am

I stopped using antivirus in 2008. My computers now don’t experience the build up of errors due to false positives.
    Plus they run faster.
Prior problems were directly related to either AVG, Trend, Norton or McAfee.
Previously I had been reinstalling the OS for each computer each 12-18 months.
Currently running 2 X IBM T42Ps with Windows xp sp2 and had no problems in 7 years.
In fact I haven’t had to install the os again on any of my 6 laptops or my 6 tower systems, but I’ve been using computers since I was servicing or fixing then down to component level since the IBM AT/XT series, in the 80s.
So I know what not to click on, unlike many others.

  40. EmeraldMasta on July 7, 2021 at 3:05 am

Why do I need an antivirus? I am way more likely to brick my own pc than a virus bricking my pc

  41. inferno on July 7, 2021 at 3:06 am

The best anti-virus is common sense, several backups and an boot USB.

  42. Mike Wazowski on July 7, 2021 at 3:08 am

What about email scanning or fishing links in email?

  43. Magnetite 02 on July 7, 2021 at 3:10 am

Used defender only for 10 yrs with no problem but I never click on dodgy sites. It would make sense to use 2 computers if you search how should I put it "alternate" sites. Then keep your accounts on a different computer. You can search on your phone which has better protection. In conclusion grow up and stop clicking on crap.

  44. Larry Wilson on July 7, 2021 at 3:11 am

problem is i like having a firewall that asks me if i want to allow traffic in or out

  45. Liron Segev on July 7, 2021 at 3:13 am

🚨🚨🚨 YOU really do need a VPN even when not doing anything dodgy/ weird online! Here’s why: https://youtu.be/76b5DebpvXc
