If I opted for the 1080p configuration, I still would be able to output to a 4k monitor correct??

My thoughts on touch screen are good and bad because it’s helpful but it doesn’t really work well

I love touchscreen. The better controller ever. The touchscreen gimmick needs to continue forever.

Do you think the base model would be fine for an architecture major?

I have had the laptop for a few weeks now and I have had a few problems. Firstly the laptop gets really hot when i’m gaming and when i’m doing simple things like scrolling through the internet. Secondly, It freezes a lot and i have to hold down power button to restart my laptop. I’m not sure if this is just because there’s a problem with only my laptop.

12hrs battery life with the 4k screen ? doing what? watching the backround and everything on power saving mode? all others reviews said that 4k goes to max 4-5 hrs and HD at around 7-9 . i really dont know how you came with 12hrs. oh and when you make a review make a REVIEW not specs presentation from their website and just holding the laptop for the whole video. if you want to see what i mean check the dave2d channel , awesome guy and content

Great review, you cover a lot with efficiency.
I want 4K and Dolby Vision, I was looking at the XPS 17 because I plan to use this Laptop as a replacement for my ageing Desktop, but it’s a whopping $4.899 where I’m from. The XPS 15 with 4K and Dolby Vision cost $3,519. Would you say the 17" version is worth the extra cost or would the 15" version be the better value choice?

I would guess they tested an engineering sample (that’s why they did not show the hdmi adapter). And with that it is also for sure not having any trackpad issues. Not mentioning that at all however is a major fail. Yes Dell acknoledged that, but still is something to consider. (And against what Dell is saying, there are people who ordered in June and received bad trackpads).

I heard the trackpad having some issues recently

I hate touchscreen. The worse controller ever. The touchscreen gimmick needs to end.

That’s not true. the 4k version never exceeds 4h at best. the FHD+ last a bit more around 6h.

Hey. How does the touchpad get disabled? To disable there is no button on the keyboard (must be on the F9 button)

Any chance of a review of the Intel G5 with the i7-10750H and RTX 2070+

Just bought this laptop with the FHD+ screen, can’t wait for it to arrive. I have an XPS 13 from 2015 which has been flawless, and decided its now time to get the new 15 (with increased performance over the 13).

This isn’t a "review." It’s basically a summary of features that anyone can just easily find on a spec sheet. In fact you didn’t even need the laptop to produce this video.

How are you getting 12 hours when everyone else says they get between 6 and 7? Do you just leave it idle on desktop? What even…

  18. Strong “Athletic_Tech_Nerd” Nerd on June 19, 2021 at 1:56 am

12 hour battery life doing what though? Most YouTube reviewers are saying 5-7 hours doing low to moderate activity. Is 12 hour just having it on? Web browsing? YouTube and Netflix?

The gpu is Max-Q but they don’t show it on their page! Y?
