that may fix your problem, but there has definitely been a change in the canning process over the years. The rim sits much higher than they used to which makes many older electric openers unable to cut deep enough into the lid.
Ok. I have an electric can openener and about after five month it began jamming…the can wouldn’t turn and the motor hummed. With a great deal of fiddling I can finally get the can open. Anyone with a fix besides a hammer and then buy a new one.
My son who is very handy did this and it still didn’t work.
Nice. What I did was puncture the can with a knife and the place it in the opener.
I just bought a brand new Oster, worked one time. The gear (spinning thing) wont’ turn. I am extremely disappointed.
Well I’m sorry to say the inside of my CanOpener does not look anything like yours and the part is a lot bigger and it was loose when I opened it. Another one bites the dust !

I have same one an Ambiano from Aldi. Everything in proper place and is junk. Forget opening a tall can. Only good for opening tuna cans. Made In China. Junk!

Thank you. I wonder if that will help when it will puncture the can, but it will not go far before the can stops turning. The motor is still running, but the can seems to be misaligned. The grab wheel is still turning but it’s tearing up the paper and sometimes making deep indentations in the can.
