Do regular speakers do the same thing as atmos dedicated speakers?

What are the biggest differences between this package and some of the other kilpsch packages that have floor standing speakers? Larger center channels?

  7. Spudmancer on May 25, 2021 at 7:23 am

You can get in even cheaper if you pair the DH-790 with some used speakers off craigslist or marketplace. You can get some really good deals if you’re willing to do a bit of research. Wouldn’t be unreasonable to get down below 500

  8. TRXP RFT on May 25, 2021 at 7:24 am

Thank you so much, I’ll be trying this out my self when I get back to the uk (stuck abroad due to covid) will a LG cx 55/65inch.

Have you heard of or experienced the dn-1080 issue where the speakers pop/snap when pausing Atmos or DD+ content? It basically sounds like the snap when you touch a doorknob while statically charged, only amplified through your right channel speakers. I have this exact setup, Klipsch TRP and have tried two separate Dn-1080 units and BOTH have this issue. Google shows that I am not the only person that has experienced this and Sony pretends they don’t know what’s going on. Typically if you take it to the top level of customer service they just buy the unit back, there is no fix. The problem is that I love the way this unit sounds! I tried a Denon X1600h I between my two Sony units and it didn’t compare. I am considering downgrading to the dn-790 and hoping it sounds as good. What do you recommend? The other problem is that no retailers have AvRs in stock right now, thanks covid. Help!

Looking like he can’t afford a 5.1 surround package when using his $1,000 apple mac ha! 😂😝

  12. Andrew Tillery on May 25, 2021 at 7:27 am

Got the theater pack for $329 and got the Denon S750H for $399 (too many bad reviews on the Yamaha for me). Just under a month later it went on sale for $350 and Costco refunded the $50. I’m very happy with it, but want full Atmos. I’m getting the bookshelf speakers for only $60… $50 off + $30 shop card. So only $740 out of pocket.

  20. shadow demon on May 25, 2021 at 7:38 am

I’m now binge watching your videos, so sorry for the all the questions. But I’m curious, do streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max do they even stream in Dolby Atmos? I haven’t really rented a Blu-ray DVD in a while, I am strictly streaming at the moment. And I’m wondering if upgrading all my home theater equipment is a mute point since my streaming service may not even utilize it.
    Thanks again!

    I’m sorry I can’t…

Thanks for making this video. I was about to buy a 5.1 soundbar system and stumbled on this video showing the path to an affordable discrete system and I am going that route now. Great edits and humor. Enjoy your content!!!

  23. Kennydrummerk Romero on May 25, 2021 at 7:41 am

hello could you help me with this question, I bought the Klipsch R-41M 50W(pair) and the center R-52C 100W, and I have for the surround the pack 5.1 reference. I wanted to buy a YAMAHA tsr-700 receiver but its output is 100w per channel, I have read on the internet that it is better that the receiver has more power than the speakers, but the center R-52C needs 100w, it is not bad that the receiver only has 100w or there will be no problem?

  24. Antony Rishin M.R on May 25, 2021 at 7:41 am

@Ealan Osborne I bought these 5.0.2 from Costco yesterday. Got it for 799 in-store. But. I have a vaulted ceiling. Do u have any suggestions in placement for those 625’s so that I could perfect the output ?

  25. MovieCriticRob's Movie Channel on May 25, 2021 at 7:43 am

@ealanosborne, just wanted to follow up, turns out two of the klipsch satellites from the reference kit I bought were damaged so I’m dealing with mercari to get a partial refund, but I bought two Sony Atmos ready speakers, hooked those bad boys up and now I’ve got sweet Atmos and dtsx running smoothly and I’m loving it! Thanks for your help, you’ve definitely got a longtime subscriber here!

  27. Sergio Anguiano on May 25, 2021 at 7:52 am

Hey I bought the same setup that you have here but I just bought some klipsch R- 41SA Dolby Atmos speakers and Polk S30 center speaker. Where do you recommend me installing the klipsch speakers. I believe once I install the new speakers my system will now turn into 5.1.2

  28. TOP BANANA on May 25, 2021 at 7:54 am

I’m from the UK and set up a Dolby Atmos system for less than £700 got a couple of videos on my channel but nothing in detail yet. Still adding a couple of finishing touches before I’m ready to show her off in all her glory.haha

  31. Aaron Luo on May 25, 2021 at 7:56 am

Wow… This equipment is so expensive in Australia.

Klipsch Reference Theatre Pack is $1,649AUD

  33. MOHAMMED ALDHAHBI on May 25, 2021 at 7:57 am

Is it a good idea if I add the Klipsch 12" subwoofer?

  34. PITO REICHARD on May 25, 2021 at 7:57 am

Dude so glad a saw this video I was hesitant on pulling the plug on the $899 deal, had it in my cart several times and never got around to complete the transaction.
Then saw them for $799 and decided to to buy them and match them with my Sony STR DH790 I bought 3 months prior.

So I replaced my 6.1 Bose Accustimass with these Klipsch and boy I’m glad I did.

These are amazing and go perfect with the Klipsch R-12 Subwoofer, that I got on sale for $149 at Costo as well.
Loved it so much I ordered a 2nd subwoofer, cause today was the last day the are on sale.

    Glad I listened to you.
    Worth every penny.

  35. Mark Kato on May 25, 2021 at 7:58 am

  36. Eric Orozco on May 25, 2021 at 8:01 am

    Need advice!!!
On the fence on weather I should go this route or just get the Sonos Arc.
Can anyone comment on how they compare?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks!

  39. Josmil Quintero on May 25, 2021 at 8:02 am

I can use this option to do Karaoke. What dou you recommend????

  40. Tim Wilcox on May 25, 2021 at 8:02 am

At what position to you personally recommend mounting the height channels, if using the Klipsch satellite speakers? Should I put them up front near/on the ceiling or should I move them back, overhead and a few feet in front of the couch position? It would seem to me that if you put them up by the TV on the ceiling the Atmos effect would be less pronounced than if it were closer to the listener and more above their head. Both positions are possible for me, but I am undecided which would be best.

  41. Keith Dunnivan on May 25, 2021 at 8:02 am

Id prefer less of the cartoony, animated additions to your videos

  42. Paul Franklin on May 25, 2021 at 8:05 am

Any thoughts on the Klipsch Reference Dolby Atmos Surround System selling at Costco for $899 that comes with the R-625 FA tower speakers with the up firing Dolby atmos speakers compared to your set up? I would also be adding the R120 subwoofer🤔

  43. FireEyes on May 25, 2021 at 8:06 am

Hey Ealan. While I’m waiting for my Theater Pack, does the Subwoofer have the option to plug wire and if I can would I have to buy the connection seperately just incase? I don’t mind Wires myself and I don’t always count on bluetooth. hope to get an answer.

    Nice videeeooo

  46. Jason Trippe on May 25, 2021 at 8:08 am

Thank you for the video. It inspired me to get a similar setup. I went a little different route and wanted to get your opinion on some things. I got the Klipsch HT50 5.0 ($199) (formerly quintets) set from Best Buy and paired it with the Klipsch R-80SWi that comes with the set you reviewed. ($199) I got the Sony STR-DH you recommended ($349) and bought two Polk Blackstone TL1s for rear speakers ($118). I use two of the Klipsch for height. Total=$865. How do you think the Klipsch HT50 (plus the sub) compare to the Reference set in your review? Second, is 120hz crossover on the sub the optimal setting for this setup? Finally, I added the Rocketfish wireless speaker transmitters to my setup for the rear Polks. The wire runs are very short but look think and cheap. Should I upgrade those wires to 16 gauge copper or will it not make a difference? Thank you!

  47. Mark Louie Adame on May 25, 2021 at 8:08 am

Nah you did $800 i was able to make lower than $800. Bought sony dh790 7.2 atmos receiver $299, Jamo 5.0 s800 series walnut version for $199, monoprice $99 12 inch subwoofer and ceiling speakers 8 inch for $49. I got 5.1.2 setup for 12×20 sq/ft setup. Props still for you $800 is low woth klipsh setup. People think setup using receiver are expensive but the truth is it performs betters and sound way better than soundbar.

  48. TelepathicTraffic on May 25, 2021 at 8:10 am
