Salbree Popcorn Popping Bowl: Testing Amazon's Best Seller

A lot of people are stuck at home binge-watching TV right now, so by request I’m looking at a collapsible silicone popcorn popping bowl to see if it really works! I ordered the most popular model on Amazon and tried it out.

I’ll be honest, this seems like a great alternate to a standard air popper

You order from Amazon a lot, have you ever purchased a product and they send you a $10 gift card, as long as you leave them positive feedback? I’ve received 3 so far lol

Seeing you goof around with this item is just so damn funny to me. I love it.

  4. Rafael Thomas on May 2, 2021 at 5:38 am

They need to sell half popped……and I thought I was the only one who called them that. LOL

  5. Jnc Chang on May 2, 2021 at 5:38 am

I use the Tasty microwaveable popcorn pitcher. I love it!

  6. Topper Thompson on May 2, 2021 at 5:39 am

🤣 (Microwave popcorn)…that’s old school." Very funny.
I have a different brand of this device, and always use oil & seasoning. No problems ever. Makes great popcorn, and so easy to clean, and store away. It does get very hot during popping, so be careful.
And taste, has nothing to do with the popping bowl performance; only the quality of popcorn, and lack of oil, butter, and seasoning.
Always use popcorn salt, as it’s a finer grade, and I put the salt in the oil before popping; it distributes the salt more evenly. Shake other seasonings on, as soon as you remove it from microwave…. while still hot. That way it attaches to the kernels. Or, use a butter spray, then season, tossing thoroughly. Yum.

Make mine on the hob in a glass lidded saucepan as watching them pop is the best bit.

  12. Ricky Bennett on May 2, 2021 at 5:45 am

We use brown paper bag no oil added to pop. add salt & butter after, also use 1/4 cup of pop corn.

  13. iseeolly on May 2, 2021 at 5:45 am

I’m 47 but you are so much more mature than me….at no time did you put it on your head like a hat.

  14. ML W on May 2, 2021 at 5:46 am

It works pretty good but I don’t love it because I have too many unpopped kernels.

  15. Karim Amin on May 2, 2021 at 5:46 am

This device works great. No more spending extra $$$ on microwave bags. You can get a huge container of corn for less than a box of microwave popcorn and will last you 10x longer. There’s a variety of seasonings you can make or buy to spice it up but I just eat the popcorn plain.

  16. RogueReyes on May 2, 2021 at 5:48 am

Don’t know how this was recommended to me, but I misread popping as "pooping".

  17. coffeeobsessed on May 2, 2021 at 5:50 am

    Such a good healthy option!!

  18. Fab4Gal on May 2, 2021 at 5:51 am

I watch Amy Maryon’s YouTube Channel and I first saw that popcorn maker there and she puts the popcorn in and then always uses a big scoop of coconut oil and some popcorn seasoning before she puts it into the microwave…
There are several kinds of that type of microwave popper on the market now but this is the brand she uses…

  19. Wendy Easler on May 2, 2021 at 5:52 am

  21. Karis Iverson on May 2, 2021 at 5:55 am

I tried the tasty one at Walmart left only 6 kernels unpoped. So you answered you never make money making music what do you play

  22. Nick Anderson on May 2, 2021 at 5:56 am

I have one of these and it’s great.
Throw a heaping chunk of butter in it with your salt, mix it up let it pop
    Boom
All seasoned and ready to go

  23. Alice M on May 2, 2021 at 5:58 am

I didn’t read the "POPCORN" part of the tittle, honestly though it was a poop review

  24. Cynthia Smith-Heiden on May 2, 2021 at 5:58 am

Quit popcorn but this cooked very well for me. Used alot

  25. barb mcglinn on May 2, 2021 at 5:59 am

II have a hotpop silicone popper (Amazon) and I’ll never make popcorn any other way. The product looks exactly like the Salbree popper.

  26. Steven Edwards on May 2, 2021 at 6:00 am

A leftover brown paper bag from your chinelse food does the same thing.

  27. Jr Evolution on May 2, 2021 at 6:00 am

Lmao 🤣 like the newest way of popping popcorn is old school . I used to love doing it on the stove or over a nice fire

  28. king kong on May 2, 2021 at 6:01 am

I’ve never seen half popped kernels lol

  29. AGENT SMITH on May 2, 2021 at 6:05 am

  30. S n on May 2, 2021 at 6:06 am

    U will be disappointed!

  31. Mark Hernandez on May 2, 2021 at 6:11 am

We have been using the Lekue microwave popcorn maker for 5 to 6 years. It is great. We have had no issues as we add kernels, oil & salt directly into the bowl, then microwaving. After microwaving the bowl is a bit hot, but we wrap it in a cloth kitchen towel and eat from it (so there is no additional bowls to clean).

  32. Cheshire Cat on May 2, 2021 at 6:12 am

    4 minutes of waffling, dude

  33. LittleWillie1000 on May 2, 2021 at 6:13 am

I have had one for a few years and I positivity love it. I drizzle the popped corn with melted butter, sprinkle with nutritional yeast and sea salt and yum.

  34. Michael R. on May 2, 2021 at 6:15 am

They sell just those half popped kernels for folks like us that love them! Called Pop-Nots!! Don’t know if their still around but they were when I was a kid.

  35. Happy Hippo on May 2, 2021 at 6:15 am

I use that bowl all the time. Pops almost all kernels. I add butter later.

  36. Marie Lin on May 2, 2021 at 6:16 am

Upvoted for the half popped kernels.

  37. RE H on May 2, 2021 at 6:17 am

I have one of these bowls, and my instructions explicitly state to add a tablespoon of vegetable oil. Weird…

  38. Richard Greene on May 2, 2021 at 6:17 am

You can pop popcorn in a paper bag. I used Walmart large brown paper lunch bags. After fully opening the bag fold them several times with one fold about inch and a half from the opening. Put in microwave on its side with a small piece of cardboard underneath the bottom of the bag with the bag propped up on its side resting on the fold. The first time you have to Time-It using the popping sound I use 3 minutes. Put into a bowl and fix it as you normally do. Try 1/4 cup of corn at first.

  39. lac92576 on May 2, 2021 at 6:17 am

I have one of these, too, and it works really well. Haven’t tried putting oil and seasoning in with it, but I might have to try it because I don’t like adding butter AFTER because it makes the popcorn soggy 😩

  40. Fugp Basis on May 2, 2021 at 6:19 am

I always stop it early. I feel, I would rather have a few more unpopped kernels than half of them being burnt.

  41. frances garcia on May 2, 2021 at 6:20 am

The popcorn doesn’t taste good, it doesn’t matter what you put on it. I but it and the family doesn’t like it.So for me it’s not worth the money that I pay for it.

  42. Jody Johnsen on May 2, 2021 at 6:20 am

I guess a microwave is essential here. If I ever get one I’ll remember your popping bowl review. I use a hot air popper because oil is disgusting. I don’t use salt but I love fresh salt free butter on my popcorn. Thanks for the great review.

  43. Sand Angels on May 2, 2021 at 6:21 am

Ooooh look! 👀 A man who reads directions. I had once heard they existed but never believed it till today 😂

  44. just me on May 2, 2021 at 6:22 am

A brown paper bag does the same job, and you are microwaving plastics

  45. uNkLeRaRa4 on May 2, 2021 at 6:25 am

Anyone else think we’d STILL be in "lockdown" a year later? 🤔

  46. Paul Cormier on May 2, 2021 at 6:28 am

    White popcorn is the best

  47. Paul Cormier on May 2, 2021 at 6:29 am

    Have one an love it.

  48. Mikowacomet on May 2, 2021 at 6:32 am

Just put a small bowl with your kernels, inside the large covered bowl, the popped kernels jump into three big bowl.

  49. tinyman392 on May 2, 2021 at 6:33 am

I use a Nordic popcorn microwave bowl. Let’s me use oil and seasoning. Though the seasoning will make it harder to clean.

  50. Graceandcompany on May 2, 2021 at 6:33 am

I have the pampered chef version and it cooks just fine with or without oil or butter. It’s also much sturdier and can be used for cooking and eating.
