r.u.s.e deserve a remake or a new part, maybe with a modern setting.
all together, I miss in RTS games some game mechanics like dynamic weather and more focus on sound design! that’s my favourite genre and there is not a single RTS title out there that lives up to the technical standards of the current Generation they came out, either it’s very difficult to make these kind of games or it is just not a big market for it and so are the budgets low.

  7. Gray Scarab on March 13, 2021 at 11:42 pm

XCOM is also a tactical RPG.

  8. 27BLUE DJAY on March 13, 2021 at 11:42 pm

Red alert , command n conquer , good ol PS1 days

  9. Vorador47 on March 13, 2021 at 11:45 pm

everyone seems to forget that Civ 2 was on the PS1 back in the day (and that was what introduced me to Civ), so no Civ 6 isn’t the first big boy civ on consoles.

Always manages to sneak in a Nazi reference

  15. Brian Gunn on March 13, 2021 at 11:53 pm

    Northwest Europe? You mean Scandinavia?

  16. Gray Scarab on March 13, 2021 at 11:54 pm

You have been equating tactical games and strategy games in this video. They are not the same.

Real-Time strategy and turn based strategy games have been mostly absent from consoles but tactical games, especially tactical RPGs, have had a strong history on consoles even going back to the 80’s, several tactical RPG series started on consoles and were console exclusives such as Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre, Warsong, Suikodon Tactics, etc.

Tactical games have never been absent on consoles so including Fire Emblem and Valkyria Chronicles on this list is a bit incorrect.

  17. Christopher Sebastiao on March 13, 2021 at 11:54 pm

    Man, I truly miss RISE.

  18. Vuvuzela on March 13, 2021 at 11:56 pm

    "Drop the payload"

    Alexa: "Pay now?"

    🤣🤣

  21. The Lizard King on March 14, 2021 at 12:00 am

no World in Conflict? For shame. The best RTS of all time (even on PC) and not a mention……

  22. Rogue Rifter on March 14, 2021 at 12:01 am

This list should IMO be renamed top Console strategy games of the 2000s. There were no 90s games at all. Hell were any pre-PS3 and pre-Xbox 360 games other then Pikmen?

And Fire Emblem: Three Houses wasn’t the first FIre Emblem home console game to come west. And I seriously hope you want to keep handheld games and home console games on separate lists because that’s the only good reason I can see for leaving Advance Wars off.

  23. Scyphus83 on March 14, 2021 at 12:01 am

C’mon dood how can you leave out disgaea 1.

  24. Jimbo on March 14, 2021 at 12:01 am

I loved Battle for Middle Earth 2 on the 360!

  25. Gray Scarab on March 14, 2021 at 12:01 am

Fire Emblem is a turn-based tactical RPG not a strategy game, that genre has always been strong on consoles with series like fire emblem, advance wars, final fantasy tactics and more. You could even say that genre was even more prominent on consoles than pc. Tactical RPGs were not hampered by using a controller thus they were a major console genre.

  26. Omar H on March 14, 2021 at 12:02 am

God the loading times on xcom 🙁

  27. Mark LaRose on March 14, 2021 at 12:06 am

No one is really talking about it, but a game called Kingdom Under Fire The Crusaders was released on steam. Its a really fun strategy game, but it is kind of old though. This used to be a Original Xbox game, but was ported to PC.

  28. Rylan Little on March 14, 2021 at 12:07 am

  30. Kaz Jilqueue on March 14, 2021 at 12:08 am

Wargroove, you forgot Wargroove. I know you included Fire Emblem, but it’s the best Advance Wars rip on PS4/xb1/Switch

  31. Nathan Williamson on March 14, 2021 at 12:09 am

Peter is going to be in the next Pikmin. It’s now confirmed!

  32. Khan_Delnoch on March 14, 2021 at 12:09 am

As everyone else is shouting out to games…

The Kessen and Dynasty Tactics games were incredible Kingdom Under Fire: Crusaders was genuinely brilliant and some of the older strategy games ( KKND Krossfire, Command and Conquer, Warzone 2100, Dune 2000, Z and of course Hogs of War!) were genuinely fun even on consoles, though maybe there’s some nostalgia filters in play there.

  33. Alex Reyes on March 14, 2021 at 12:10 am

Surprised that halo wars 2 didn’t make it over halo wars 1 Probably because it’s much more difficult to master

  34. Seam Murf on March 14, 2021 at 12:11 am

The only one I care about is Rome total war because all the rise of kingdoms are so boring

  37. Alexander Hansen on March 14, 2021 at 12:17 am

  38. Chicken Flex on March 14, 2021 at 12:18 am

Remaster Lotrbfme !! I’d buy that game straight away for 100 bar with no changes as long as the server were online

    I miss Pikman so much

  40. Jim Raynor on March 14, 2021 at 12:18 am

XCOM 2 on consoles isn’t stable (crashes and save file corruption). XCOM Enemy Unknown is very solid, however.

  41. ComicZ RKD on March 14, 2021 at 12:19 am
