The iPhone is a joke. No built in DAC, no headphone jack and no CODEC support. Why is it even on here? lol.

If you’re truly an audio Enthusiast there’s only one smartphone.. It’s LG’s flagships duh… They cannot be matched plain and simple…

  9. pepe6666 on February 12, 2021 at 9:48 pm

thank you for making this. audio is extremely under-reviewed in phones. i am trying desperately to find a camera for filming and their microphone recording quality is terrible. even with an external mic every phone i find applies horrible filtering & is low-bitrate etc. horrible

  10. Robin Rajan on February 12, 2021 at 9:49 pm

But pixel 2XL has no DAC!!!

  11. Vikas Shelke on February 12, 2021 at 9:49 pm

Keep headphone jack less phones out of equation audiophils will go for audio specific devices .Lg v30 is way ahead of competition.

does this mean the higher dBA then higher the volume will go when using headphones ? the loudest ?

  13. Davidson2886 on February 12, 2021 at 9:51 pm

Better to buy a good Dap with balanced output, good Iem’s that suit your music tastes and can do justice any genre ( to never EQ) with MMCX connectors and a balanced cable, and maintain your phone with detachable antenna that is the real TOTL

*What’s the best app for recording flac?*

  18. Rich McDonald on February 12, 2021 at 9:54 pm

The V30 is easily the best, but the HTC 10 is extremely underrated for audio quality.

  19. Lee Stevens on February 12, 2021 at 9:55 pm

My s8 is the best I’ve owned for audio. I think audio sounds better quality on this phones speakers than it does on newer phones. The s8’s speakers aren’t powerful but I think music sounds the best on this phones speakers. From what I’ve heard newer models are louder but they sound airy, distorted, and just bad quality.

I have about 7 thousand various songs on my YouTube music list. If I use a $359 Sennheiser earphone with this, will I hear good quality audio? I’m thinking of buying a simple Nokia 2. Do various phone have different levels of audio? Thanks

  22. Eugene Epstein on February 12, 2021 at 9:58 pm

    Nearly perfect for audio? Really?

  23. Farhan Ahmad Tajuddin on February 12, 2021 at 9:58 pm

There is only one answer to that question: LG. Show me another smartphone with HiFi Quad DAC, I don’t think I ever find any. Plus, the fact that LG still retains the ever-important 3.5mm audio jack is the reason why I owned an LG.

  24. Messi 528 on February 12, 2021 at 10:00 pm

When you say audio do you mean only listening to music and the sound this phone produces or it also has a great recording for singing?

  25. mg san on February 12, 2021 at 10:00 pm

When we’re talking about Audio quality on smartphone and …
Kid: my phone speaker is loud and da best xD

  35. Jake Stern on February 12, 2021 at 10:19 pm

    What about music file formats?
I want to be able to play my music that I export from my home studio, unfortunately most phones only use their own formats which aren’t compatible with anything else.

Hi. I used to own a HTC one M9. I sold it to upgrade to a Samsug note 8. however the HTC had dolby and the volume went way higher with better quality than Note 8 also way less expensive- you’d think a more expensive mobile would have better sound but no that is not the case. I wish I had of done more reseARCH ON SPECS before buying the note 8 . So my question is , I want to know what smartpone has the highest volume for headphones only. I don;t care about speak- what do I look out for highest headphone volume ? loudness ? please ? what specs am I looking for . ? Audio quality- Noise – ?

    Business Opportunity in Ruvol

I have invented a Board Game [still unpublished and not yet out in the market] that I believe is guaranteed to be as challenging and exciting as CHESS. I called it “RUVOL.”

It is my hope that one day Ruvol may surpass chess as the “Number One Board Game in the World.”

The weakness of chess is it always starts in fixed positions that the opening moves become “memorizable.” In fact, not a few have so mastered the moves that they can play against their opponents “blindfolded.” It is for this very reason that the great Bobby Fischer introduced his so-called “Fischer Random Chess,” where the starting position of the pieces is “randomized” to make the memorization of openings impracticable. Fortunately, it is also for this reason that I invented Ruvol where “every game” has been calculated to be a challenging one to play.

HOW IS RUVOL PLAYED and HOW YOU CAN MONETIZE IT?

I detailed everything in my YouTube video. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcqth0m3-R0

    BIG MONEY POTENTIAL IN RUVOL!

It is worthwhile to note that the people who play chess will be the same people who will play Ruvol. In my Google search, I learned there are around 800 million chess players in the world. Even just a small percentage of these 800 million is good enough to earn big money from Ruvol either as an ONLINE GAME BUSINESS or as a PHYSICAL PRODUCT DISTRIBUTOR.

You may contact me at: rodolfovitangcol@gmail.com.

    Thanks and God bless!

Hi, I have "upgraded" to a LG v40 for its overwhelmed ratings on the 3.5 jack quad dac output. It was link-up to my pretty decent tube audio system. However a group of audiophile friends and myself didn’t find it better than other few "normal" standard phones we tested. There are many articles on 32bits is just marketing as we don’t really hear them. If a 32bit didn’t sounds superior to a 16bit or 24bit dac, but atleast it definitely sounded different with each other individual phone brands. So Can I conclude that the audio quality of a phone is very much depends on its internal amplifier and equalisation? Any expert’s input will be greatly appreciated 🙂
