What if you can only afford a laptop?
3:14 hahaha im dead
What would be the absolute most potential deriving and best sounding cheapest bundle one could get for say like 1500? I would venture to say that..at the risk of sounding like yet another deluded musician that thinks they are great but actually really kinda sucks and is like everyone else and lacks any outside of the box creativity..lol..that I could make something that doesn’t suck as much as everyone else that does this shit. Lol. π if if that rambling ramble makes any sense..but yea..
Hi Clark, thanks for the great video, I’m running komplete 11 on cubase, is the HP EliteBook 850 G6 (with added 16MB ram, 1To SSD) a good choice?
I havenβt seen a Maxtor drive in about 15 years, you probably canβt give that HD away
Googling these specs has me dizzy. Can you please link a recommended desktop? I’ll buy it.
Using a macbook 13 inch and producing on FL Studio guess is not the best combo.
Any solutions to the overheating issue? Within minutes my laptop overheats and I can hear the noise in my voice recordings which frustrates the hell outta me. I’m on a low budget now so I can’t buy another computer, I will in the long run though cause I’m sick of this :
Hey!!! Geweldige video. Heb jij noch altijd dezelfde opinie over de MacBook Pro 2020, i5. Core en 16GB Ram met 1T SSD?
lose state drive… XD
Mate, it’s a SSD or an HDD
Solid State Drive or Hard Disk Drive
In the 2020 mini pc are ready for music production ? intel nuc , hp z2 mini etc
Thank you Dexxter. You just changed my mind about Macs. Can you comment on this computer for music production: Dell XPS 8930 Tower Desktop – 8th Gen. Intel Core i7-8700 6-Core up to 4.60 GHz, 32GB DDR4 Memory, 512GB SSD + 2TB SATA Hard Drive, 4GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti, Windows 10 Pro, Black?
AMD not great itβs gotta be intel for protools 18 years in the chair
I using FLStudio since 2003 now. I noticed that Intel works better with that DAW than a AMD. In past i used FLStudio on a Laptop.. while producing it burned something and the Computer was broken.. – I bought a new Computer.. also was an AMD.. i produced… flashes comes from my power adapter and smoke climbs up the air.. – I changed to a Intel Laptop.. yes.. it was a bit better, no burns.. no smoke.. but clipping Sound when use too much VSTs… so i sold that Laptop.. – then i build my first own PC with an Intel Core2 9650 Extreme with a separate Soundcard (Creative Sound Blaster Z) .. – Yes it was much better. Less Latency but very bass heavy sound.. i not liked it.. it was too much bass.. – then i changed my Soundcard to an Asus Xonar DX2 PCI Soundcard.. the Latency was under 2 Milliseconds and the Sound of that Card was really great.. – then i changed the System again to an Intel i7-7700K.. and it was hard to find a Mainboard for that Socket where i can run the Asus Soundcard (because PCI was dying – everything changed to PCI-Express).. but i found a Mainboard which had an old PCI Slot .. it was from Asus too – The System worked very well with FLStudio, but then the Mainboard broke after some months of use, but gladly i had warranty on it.. the dumb was… they not had that Mainboard anymore for exchange… so i got my Money back and i had to change again.. now i have one of the new Mainboards without PCI… it only have PCI-Express… so i not can use that great Asus Soundcard anymore (i still have it.. maybe someday i will build a other Computer).. but the Soundchip on the Mainboard is powerful.. i can work with 24-Bits and 48000kHz.. and more if i want… it sounds great, but now again… when use too much VSTs.. Sound is clipping… now i ordered a USB-Interface from Steinberg (U22C) and i hope i now will have my Peace with all of that.. especially the 32-Bit and 192kHZ are very interesting to me, because i like crystal clear Sound where i can hear from where direction every single Sound comes from.
is acer preditor helious 300 a music production worthy laptop?
thanks g keep it up, good info
Hey! Iβve been watching your videos a lot as Iβve been doing research to find a new computer. I know that you donβt really recommend Macs but I find that working with Logic Pro is really quick and itβs easier for me in comparison to other DAWs! Iβm debating between the MacBook Pro 16inch, 13inch or the iMac but Iβm not really sure if I should be investing in something that is going to have lots of technical issues in the long term. What do you think?
2:00Just build a hackintosh on your current pc end of topic
Thank me later
(*****Backup your data before doing that and try to install in a separate physical HDD or ssd***********
Do your research on how to install)
I got AMD Ryzen 3900 12 Core
64 gb ram (124 soon)
RTX 2060 Super
2tb storage
And I still get pops and crackles no matter what interface I use π
Thanks for the guidance. Used this video to purchase my pc. I didn’t know better, but for years I was running maschine on a Mac mini with no hiccups π π . This was the 08 model I believe. Ran it til the screen turned blue (didn’t back ANYTHING up).
Great vid! Though Solid State Drive does not mean "as opposed to a loose state spinning magnetic platter drive". Solid state refers to using solid semiconductor crystals (silicon, gallium arsenide, germanium), which is what transistors/ICs are made of (in our case, flash memory). The term was originally used as opposed to vacuum tubes
Hey! What would you say about amd ryzen 5 3500x with 16 gb ram, 500 gb ssd and 2tb hdd and nvidia 1650?! Could you suggest anything better than this around this price range?!
I went to best buy and i asked the employee whats the best computer he suggested a gaming pc because they can do it all , I dont really know much about computers so i decided to wait and do some more research but i basically just want it for ebay , and a little bit of production. What would be a good desktop (besides mac)
Yeah so which laptops do you recommend?
I’m done with computers! I’m going hunting. It’s always simple in the woods.
I write comments on youtube every 5 years… Such a GREAT video and explanation! You’ve gone through every aspect that is important.
Thank you so much for your effort, I’ve instantly subscribed your channel π
Helpful π
So why do u never refer to competent PC’s..I need a thunderbolt 3 computer recommendation for no more than $1500
8:00 CPU vs RAM
9:00 PCI express or M.2 SSD connection [directly inserted on the motherboard= 6x quicker reading & 3x quicker writing] – no SATA
10:07 chose M.2 Motherboard
Iβve been using your info to build my PC, Iβm just confused on which operating system to use, Windows 10 Pro or Windows 10 Pro OEM?
Loving your video mate really educational. You mentioned 1TB minimum, do you think having a 500GB SSD on the Mac and then a 1TB external SSD for samples etc will work just as good? Or should it be on board
i9 10th gen + m.2 SSD = beast mode DAW machine.
I cant believe he didnt mention a sound card!?
Great video. I just thought of a newbie question. I’ve been wanting to dive in and build another computer. I’m a Windows user, running Windows 7, and was hesitant to install v. 10 after a lot of friends said it wasn’t as smooth. If I build a new system with an i9 processor and 16gb of ran, SSD … will Windows 7 handle the hardware especially since there is no updates for it any longer? Thanks
I need someone who knows to tell me how to avoid DPC latency
If cores are the key, then why pick Intel? AMD is the current king
He made this 1 day before Juice WRLD Dies Rest in peace
This is probably the most unbiased opinions that I’ve read in a long time. I just found you today. This is the guy to listen to folks. First, he doesn’t sing the praises of any particular DAW; not even the one he uses. (I watched the video on DAW choices just before this one). He is also a programmer and understands, for instance, the programming language of software. Also, it’s not the most expensive that he’ll recommend; it’s what will get the job done. If it sounds expensive, well, maybe it’s to do with the fact that you are recording audio. Like video and graphics, audio has a minimum requirement to get the job done. Don’t shoot the messenger. Looking forward to watching more of your content. Cheers.
Please suggest a home music studio (MB, CPU, RAM ..> approx. $ 1200)?
Very helpful, many thanks!
Thinking of getting one of HP Z workstations, either Z2 G4 mini or Z book Studio. Would you recommend one?
PS donβt get Mac Mini 2020 i7 – got two and had to return both due to grinding noise, most likely due to faulty capacitors. Both were from same batch – serial started with same 4 letter number combination
What is the best choice for music prodution
So what computer?
Does motherboard sound chipset matter?
So what desktop is the best for music??
Do you have any thoughts about hp Omen 17.3 16gb 1tb 512ssd
I’m sorry but that intro was the worst. Sudden and loud.
Very interesting!
But what about: "Latency?" How much do I need and where can I buy some?
Joking but seriously…
These new AMD processors… how are they with latency?
192 kHz with 24 buffer?? Yes???
6:47 Right now Intel CPU clock speeds are usually slightly higher when comparing a model with its AMD analogue, but the AMD one will typically have significantly more cores. And the intel one will cost a chunk more.
superb series…thanx
Waiting 8 weeks for my next imac 5k i9 maxed processor and cores, 2 TB ssd fusion is a no no, 64 GB from crucial (I heard you can go 128 but Iβm worried about heat and warranty) , two monitor setup for mix and tracking 27 inch and iMac 27 monitor, Thunderbolt Apollo interface, smart wireless keyboard includes number pad for nudge controls with protools, Magic Mouse is fine..this is my home work bot, in the studio itβs all protools hdx still and trash can pros, also run ableton live 10 and studio one 5 at home, logic is also great. I did hear ableton is making a slow departure from Apple since they annually change the OS X which really does suck, it wouldnβt be bad if we could use older software on newer machines but I just shelled out an additional $2300 for updates for native Instruments komplete 12, Ableton upgrade, atruria v collection and auto tune pro but prefer melodyne 5, but nothing works with Catalina, so itβs Mojaveβs until Big Sur, and then who the hell knows but I donβt blame ableton more developers should speak up so that the software updates are improvements and more features instead of just finally approved for the Apple dictatorship
