Reviews of the best budget-priced smartphones of Autumn 2020, costing under £200 here in the UK. I’ve fully tested all of these pleasingly cheap mobiles from Motorola, Sony Xperia, Realme and Xiaomi, with the greatest camera tech, performance, battery life and more. These phones may be affordable but you can get gaming with the likes of PubG and Call of Duty Mobile, capture good looking photos and do everything you need.
Topping my list of favourite phones that boast a budget cost is the Poco X3 NFC, the best Xiaomi phone for anyone strapped for cash. You’ve got that Snapdragon 732G chipset which will certainly appease any gamers, a 5000mAh-plus battery, 120Hz FHD display and impressive specs across the board. Even the camera doesn’t disappoint. All for £200. If that’s still too high a price, you can grab the Redmi 9 instead for a lot less, which works well as a simple everyday handset.
Motorola is still one of the greatest smartphone manufacturers in this wallet-friendly realm thanks to its Moto G9 Play, which is a great price but also will suit everyday users (although admittedly, nothing new is brought to the table). However, the Realme 6i is a very strong rival, boasting that fresh Realme UI, a capable everyday camera and smooth enough performance when playing PubG. I’m looking forward to testing out the new 7 series devices, coming to the UK in OCtober 2020.
I’ve also fully reviewed Sony’s Xperia L4, which serves up that 21:9 design for a lot less money. Although it’s old Android 9 sadly, which is seriously off-putting as version 11 is just around the corner.
So that’s my pick of the very best cheap phones costing £199 or under here in the UK as we approach 2021. Let me know your own favourites down below!

The Bluetooth on the Redmi Note 9 is very flakey and they don’t have a fix for it.
Just swapped to a Oppo A53, It’s better all round.

Thx for the review. X3 purchase tomorrow here in Indonesia, in the free trade zone. The price is even lower. As for a no bs guy with some f bombs and some good time humour, just do bit more digging about your opening monologue and the reality of the "event". Or not and enjoy your indoor living, it will not go away unless we all say no thank you. Nice and cryptic, should not hurt your channel, since you know, you no longer can say what you want to say these days. That 1984 thing happening….Or I am just tin foil hat kind of a guy.
For example the Nokia 5.4 128G is a much better mobile when it comes to value for money compared to the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G 256GB (Black). Also it’s $1620 cheaper, than the Samsung & expandable to 512G. The only thing the Samsung has better is the camera & internal storage. But it doesn’t explain the $1620 difference in price. Don’t take my word for it. Just look at the specs on JB HI FI website & you will know what iam talking about.

Sony L4, do not recommend. Mine started playing tricks after 5 months.

Hello. I had a note 4 for the longest time before it gave out. They gave me a s7edge and I’ve exchanged it 5 times since I’ve received it in june. I’m looking for a phone around 200. I would like to know which one you would buy? Camera is important to me for the memories, I watch movies a good amount, and I didn’t know you could play games on your phone with an attached remote so that looks fun but not necessary.
Ps. I’m in the us, not sure if that matters?
P.s.s. I guess I should mention I have a wireless charging pad.
