Hey josh, i have been searching for a laptop for almost 2 months and i still didn’t found an ideal laptop. If you can, i would really appriciate your help. What i need is a 15 inch laptop for university that is lightweight, and that i can also use for indie game develping (with unity or gamemaker studio). My most desired options for now are the lenovo legion 5 15, and the lenovo ideapad 5 15 (especialy for their keybords), but one of them is too bulky with a graphical power that i dont really need (since i play AAA on consles), while the other one has a bad display that i can’t tollerate (i could buy an external monitor, but currently i dont have enough space for it). I would be happy if you raccomend me a laptop like the ideapad 5 15 but with a better display, 16 gb ram, with POSSIBLY an i7 or ryzen 7, and that it can also do some CASUAL gaming; i also don’t want to spend too much so i wont buy anything over 1500€. If you don’t know any laptop like this, then tell me what i should do. Thank you

Is there any difference between Asus VivioBook s14/15 14 inch and Asus Vivobook s14/15 15 inch except the screen size, the nits (400 and 200) and a number pad? Looks like both have an AMD Ryzen 4700U, 512 SSD and 16 GB ram. I am no expert at computers and got an 14 inch and my eyes and head hurts, I use fl studio and photoshop. 150% screen "size" is recommended in the settings, but I have to have 125% to be able to see all plug-ins in fl studio. Everything is so small. I am also studying economics at uni. The 14 inch is 1,4 kg and the 15 inch is 1,8 kg. I have the possibility to change the computer for 25 days and I am torn.

7:35 FYI a tight budget doesn’t "start at $689.99". 👎 What world do you live in? 🙁

  29. Schwarz Weiß on January 23, 2021 at 8:12 pm

Don’t buy a Dell xps laptop guys. I constantly have problems with it and the guy at the computer service told me that he has a lot of costumers having the same issues.

  30. Snoxu on January 23, 2021 at 8:13 pm

i don’t expect students to he using 1000$ dallar laptops

  31. Muhammad Usman Ansari on January 23, 2021 at 8:13 pm

What is your say on a refurbished Dell Latitude 12 7275 for university activities. Mind you, this is not for the computer science or engineering students. Just management sciences.

  32. Der Fliegende Mocca on January 23, 2021 at 8:15 pm

Wow, the amount of elitists here is too damn high.

1400$ is NOT what you NEED to spend on a notebook.
I had a 50$ crappy old thinkpad for most of my university life, 10-12 years old, i cleaned it properly and gave it more, faster ram and an ssd and it was more than enough.
I now switched to a 2008 macbook (not pro) with Intel Core 2 Duo. New battery and ssd, but this is really working great, i love the keyboard and its just so cool and ancient while still doing its job. especially if you consider i got it for free, because the former owner was not able to reinstall a fresh macos.

so do you want a 10 year old notebook? probably not honestly. but saying that anything below 1000$ is pure crap is just bullshit.
I cant speak for everyone, but if you really just want something for school, just get any cheap laptop and an external harddrive. you will be fine.
maybe you want to game too – then please consider buying a used gaming pc for like 200$ that easily outperformes most notebooks.
other than that i honestly think that most super power hungry people are just running benchmarks or trying to brag. you can video encode with 4 cores in 2020, its okay. you dont need 200 lol fps on a laptop. just dont fool yourself into thinking, that a 500 – 600$ notebook is worthless. it will get everything done and you can literally for the same price buy a absolutely new one in 3 years, outperforming anything that NOW costs 1400$.

Best laptop for someone who wants to create designs for t shirts to sell on Etsy, Shopify ?? I have £1000

  34. Pawel Zabinski on January 23, 2021 at 8:16 pm

Should I get the Macbook Air with M1? I’m hearing so many positive reviews on it.

  35. R Hebner on January 23, 2021 at 8:17 pm

Please note : Some manufacturers do not allow repair shops to repair their products and Razor does NOT sell parts and do not pay shipping either way if the warranty has expired. I would recommend looking hard at after sales warranty and repair policies BEFORE buying especially if you’re paying more than 2000.

Hi Josh. I am hoping you could please recommend me a new laptop. I’m in Australia, would like a 15" i7 good display and sound and up to $2000 AUD if this is even possible please? For home use only, so web browsing, youtube, and word docs for work. I have been to stores but they promote the brands they sell (understandably so). I want something futureproof as I am a "mature lady" and this will be my last purchase… hopefully. Thank you in advance and have a great day. Donna
