  12. TheLunkad on January 15, 2021 at 3:34 am

Hi Technodad, I bought Denon AVR-S740H Receiver, 7.2 Channel 4K Ultra HD for Unmatched Realism, 3D Audio, Dolby Surround Sound (Atmos, DTS/Virtual),  and looking for speakers now. What r ur thoughts on these by Focal – https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D3MZKO8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A33ZFW15ZO0RKP&psc=1. costing 800 USD?

Hi Techno Dad, I been looking at your videos for a week now. I love the content you have and hope you can help me out. I have a old home theater setup and i just lost my Yamaha RX-A2000. It was plenty of power for what I was running. Now my problem is I dont have that kind of money anymore and I am lost on what too buy. I have Energy connoisseur series C-9 towers, Energy connoisseur C-C3 center, Energy connoisseur C-R3 surround speakers and a 12" Sunfire dynamics series SDS12 Subwoofer. I am hoping you can guide me in the direction of a few solid performers for a AVR that is budget friendly. Keeping in mind that I would like the option of more channel and maybe have atmos down the road. Also with looking at all your videos I learned that my C-R3 surrounds were in a bad place. They are both di-pole and bi-pole speakers and can switch them if I want. I have them directly in back of us. Its a 10′ wide room and they are maybe 7′ apart from each other and are 6′ high and are theatre chairs are 1′ away from the wall. So my 2nd question is. Is there a way to salvage this setup by keeping the speakers there. Would di-pole be better then bi-pole and vise versa. My wife will kill me if I start destroying the walls again to change there location. Again thank you for listening to me and any help you give me. Thank you and love the videos

Can you please review the KLIPSCH New reference premiere floorstanding speakers and if possible the KLIPSCH Palladium F39. Many thanks.

  16. Freddy D on January 15, 2021 at 3:36 am

When I bought my first house and the loan process was taking a while, I figured, nahhh, I won’t get approved, bought my Klipsch Reference Premier speakers, 7.2. As i threw all of my boxes away and I was about to plug in my speakers, I get a call, you been approved, congrats! DAMN! had to move the speakers with extreme care.

  17. Hi-Fi Haven on January 15, 2021 at 3:36 am

Great video man! Great information, some really great gear, and speakers!

  18. JavonDGreen on January 15, 2021 at 3:40 am

Everything I asked you about my personal setup on that email was answered in this video. Fantastic!!!

  19. hurph on January 15, 2021 at 3:43 am

No Aperion Audio? Their Intimus package is around 2k and you get a 60 day trial. Great video. I started with just towers and slowly building up.

hi, i have a yamaha rx a780 with 2 jbl arena 180 and a sub, would you recommend buying 2 more to use in 5.1? its for Gaming

  21. bob zealand on January 15, 2021 at 3:46 am

I’m debating wether to keep my sony dn1080 avr or go with the 9.2 onkyo 787 I don’t see any reviews on it but it seems to be a great price for a 9.2 channel receiver id like the 4 speaker dolby atmos setup any thoughts ?

  22. Kendall Tull on January 15, 2021 at 3:47 am

There are also packages with AVRs included like this one:

    https://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-Certified-Component-Receiver-TX-NR787/dp/B07CRHQ75L/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1529355693&sr=8-1&keywords=onkyo+787&dpID=41wnKo3AksL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

A full RP-280F setup similar to the one you listed plus a Marantz 7011 for $3,075. Most of those deals use older AVRs but really – the newer models aren’t much different in terms of feature set.

  23. B4G3L5 on January 15, 2021 at 3:48 am

Techno Dad, lemme pick your brain…
Looking for an Atmos capable receiver for less than $1000. I’ve been loyal to Onkyo for years, but I can’t seem to find a receiver of theirs that supports discrete subwoofer lines, they’re all linear. Are there any brands/models you know of, and can recommend, that meet these specs?

  24. Sanjeev on January 15, 2021 at 3:49 am

    Very good video

  25. Gorilla Jones on January 15, 2021 at 3:50 am

    No JBL?

  26. Andre Palmer on January 15, 2021 at 3:51 am

Techno Dad I really enjoy your videos. Question, I have the HT-S9800THX and I live in a town house right now so the sound quality is great but we plan on moving into a bigger house and I was wondering if I should add tower speakers or upgrade to a newer bigger system?

  27. liz berckes on January 15, 2021 at 3:51 am

I am in the market for a new receiver and speakers. When referring to systems I’ve heard 9.2.4 or 7.1.4. I get that but when looking at AVR’s they just say 9.2 or 11.2. I don’t understand.

  30. Artistry Artistry on January 15, 2021 at 3:56 am

The descriptions below the video are really confusing. Not sure which setups are which. Might want to group them under the subtitle "$2000 dollar setup" etc. Otherwise love your vids/channel. Subbed today 🙂

  31. h20no on January 15, 2021 at 3:58 am

Hey techno dad I’m looking to have a 5.1.4 overheard speaker for atmos. But I have other parts of the house I want to be able to play music in kitchen. Deck, garage bath. Would I need 2 diffrent receivers to accomplish this .

  32. Jason Carlough on January 15, 2021 at 3:59 am

This is a ridiculous video. C’mon man…you can do better than making a video about amazon searches.

Plus….your personality is terrible. You really sound like you don’t know why you’re talking about. Your voice is equivalent to a robot.

While critical…I hope you keep at it. I suggest take some lessons though.

  33. Meng X on January 15, 2021 at 3:59 am

Man, I’m so jealous. I’m an American from Minnesota but now working and living in China. And let me tell you, U.S. prices are some of the lowest in the world. Most of these products featured in this video are about 25-50% more expensive here in China and most of them are made here too! Primary reason is taxes and greed. When you got a country of 1.3 billion people, you got millions of customers who will still pay premium pricing.

  34. Eddie Bonilla on January 15, 2021 at 4:00 am

Just an idea, you can conceal those wires without having to send much money and is very simple. Use techflex (expandable wire loom / braided wire loom) this item can be found on Amazon. Check it out.

  35. knawmean2 on January 15, 2021 at 4:01 am

Techno Dad this was a great video. I have to send you an email to let you know what I’m trying to do see if you can help. As a matter of fact I may reach out to you on IG. I’m @BleuCEO on there.

  36. NovoLibertas on January 15, 2021 at 4:01 am

New to the AV home theater scene. Purchased a Denon s950h and some elac debut 2.0’s. Center, two towers, rears, sub and a pair of Atmos speakers. Thoughts?

  40. Tech Assistant on January 15, 2021 at 4:08 am

Isn’t buying the speakers separately cheaper though? I checked and usually companies charge more just to have everything in one. Also you should include fluance they have some nice speakers at good prices their speaker kits are $1000 it less without a subwoofer however.

  41. FOMO on Tech on January 15, 2021 at 4:10 am

So what’s the budget to set aside for TV if I’m spending $3,000 on on this home theater? $1000?

  42. PITBULL on January 15, 2021 at 4:10 am

GREAT vid brotha. Good infor for all of those starting out all good gear. The Elac at that price is better than stuff 2x the price! I use Def tech stuff so good to see you had such a broad rang in there

  43. scarecrow66ab on January 15, 2021 at 4:11 am

Emotiva came out with a 12" and 15" subwoofers. You can see them on their website.

  45. bee nasty on January 15, 2021 at 4:13 am

I’m planning on getting the Klipsch RP 280s and 450c…with a BIC America H10011 sub or two…not sure on the rears or Atmos…the clearest and cheapest would be the Pioneer B22s and Atmos speakers…I want a Sony STR-ZA 1100 to power the whole deal…this is probably the last home theater I’ll buy…I’m getting old…what I’m waiting for is Black Friday…do you think this is the best time of the year to buy or when?

  46. eric nortan on January 15, 2021 at 4:14 am

ONKYO TX-RZ820 $500 (on sale) Crown XLi2500 amp $500, Cerwin-Vega! SL 15 fronts $1000, Sony SSCS 8 center $100, Sony SSCS 3 towers for rear $200 (on sale) two Cerwin-Vega! V-12s subs $300 (used, great condition) plus quality cables $100. Awesome system for under three grand. Great for two channel and movies are amazing. The TX-RZ820 is a steal, very nice receiver, lots of power, good stereo sound, most of the bells and whistles of a high end receiver including pre-outs for all channels. Essential for me, I have 15" fronts, which the receiver can drive decent, but with a separate it’s on another level. Great videos, thanks for all the info.

  47. desertraider on January 15, 2021 at 4:16 am

Excellent deal for that Onkyo TX-RZ820 you mentioned. Considering picking that one up.

  48. Carlos Bucio on January 15, 2021 at 4:18 am

That’s the way to go. I’ve had my Acoustic Research Hi-Res towers and center channel for a while now. All I have upgraded was the receiver, 4K UHD player and the 4K TV. My Velodyne HGS-12BG powered subwoofer is 19 years old and it still hits as hard as the first day I got it. Another great video! 👍

  49. Finn Schøyen on January 15, 2021 at 4:19 am

Spend more on the speakers than the electronics? I agree about 70% with that.

If you go for separates, put a bit more into good power amps, because they’ll be just as good when the preamp processor becomes obsolete.

And if you go for a receiver, why not invest in one with preamp outputs? That way, you can take the leap to separates gradually.

  50. Victor DeJesus on January 15, 2021 at 4:19 am

I like your reviews and tips! Thank you!
I do have a question… Do you trust AVR’s that are refurbiished? I’m looking at the Denon AVR-X3400H, and the refurbished version is $99 less than buying new. I would plan on buying the 4 year protection plan, just in case something does happen. Should I buy the refurb at the lower cost, or just buy new? Thanks for your input…
