I dont know why but I absolutely LOVE the fact you mentioned black metal in your video. Would love to hear what some of your favorite bands are!

  7. Hunt77 on January 13, 2021 at 12:51 am

A nice look at the past, played several of them, I just so happened to replay San Andreas just now. It’s an awesome game in the true meaning of the word, I can’t dislike it even tho I don’t care about gangsta’ culture or some of the design directions that would become even stronger in the coming games. It’s such a huge game with so much fun stuff to do and the story was ultimately quite clever, something the GTA games from before was lacking. It might hold up pretty well too as I had little issue playing it despite how old it is now.

  8. Jeremy Kountz on January 13, 2021 at 12:53 am

2 of my top 3 favorite games of all time come from the 2000s. Those being GTA San Andreas and The Simpsons Hit & Run. The other one would be Fallout New Vegas, but that game came out in 2010. Other games i loved from the 2000s would be:

    Left for Dead 2
    Road Trip Adventure
    Fallout 3
    Tony Hawk Underground 2
    Saints Row 2
    Total War Medieval 2
    Sims 3
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1 and 2
    Need for Speed Most Wanted
    The Simpsons Game
    Scarface: The World Is Yours
    The first Cars Video Game
    Mercenaries Playground of Destruction
and many more that wasn’t named above.

  9. Malleus1655 on January 13, 2021 at 12:54 am

For me it’s Sudeki (2004) – not the best of games but it was fun.

  10. Haldyr S. Telvanni on January 13, 2021 at 12:54 am

I’d add Persona 3/4 games and Dragon Quest 8 to the already mentioned Morrowind and Oblivion. Morrowind being the most impactful with all the open world scenery and interactions.

Also just remembered Icewind Dale 2, the customization in the game and all the dialogue was something else. To this day I still think the opening Targos chapter is the strongest out of most games I played.

What are your thoughts on the new VVVtunia trailer?

  22. Micaiah the Otaku Gamer [HybridAngelZero] on January 13, 2021 at 1:13 am

Ah, the 2000s were such an odd time in gaming, two games that came out in 2006, for example, could feel like they were a whole universe away from each other.
That said, I do have quite a few favorites from this time, including:
    Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal
    The World Ends With You
    Final Fantasy IX
    Kingdom Hearts 2
    Megaman Legends 2
    Persona 4
    Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
    Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow
    Marvel vs Capcom 2
    Ōkami
Tales of Symphonia, Legendia, Abyss and Vesperia
    Super Mario Galaxy
    Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
    Pokémon Puzzle League
    Disgaea 2
…and there are probably a dozen or so more that just aren’t popping into my head

  23. NismoRacer 00 on January 13, 2021 at 1:13 am

You can use Widescreen Fixes for NFS games from Underground to Carbon same with GTA games from 3 to SA, just letting you know but you’re a great YouTuber

  24. skyknight0408 on January 13, 2021 at 1:14 am

  28. DrRESHES on January 13, 2021 at 1:24 am

my life was all around the pc in the 00s,
even when i got the ps2 i lost interest easily, because i was a little snob that even MGS3 sucked for me but that’s because i loved MGS1.

in 00s i never in my life played a single JRPG, never heard of one and never played one, and also regular RPG’s (for the most part) like the elder scrolls and fable. the closest i had was Diablo 2, and Diablo 1 on PS1, which also never had a single JRPG OR RPG.

    my list included of:
    Diablo 2
sims with every couple of months with almost all the DLC’s
    C&C
    Counter Strike
    Max Payne 1 & 2
    Civilization 3
    also Commandos 2
    Serious Sam TSE
    COD 1 & 2 were both amazing
NFS U1 & NFSMW were the best.
    Stronghold
    Onimusha 1 and 3
Jedi Academy still the best star wars any thing.
All the Classic Silent Hills and Ace Combat serieses. that i missed.
    Hitman 1 & 2
Ultima Online i think the only fantasy rpg that i got and i got the most of it.
all the GTA’s since 2 to SA were amazing
    Mafia
postal 2 was a lot of sadistic fun
    DMC3 & 4 were amazing
    Rome Total War
SEA DOGS OR CORSAIR WAS THE FIRST 3D WORLD AND OCEANIC OPEN WORLD GAME IN THE YEAR 2000
    Sacred 2
Severance Blade of Darkness came before Dark Souls.
    RE4 was fun
Swat 4 ( Swat 3 is my fave)
Stubs the zombie is a game that no one played.
Dead rising was a game i craved for so long
crysis bioshock and cod 4 were one state of playing.
    Stalker Team fortress 2 also.
Assassi ‘s creed 1 was great at the time
L4D Far cry 2 dead space… at that time games came and went, and ther sequels.
    and Half Life 2.

But for me there is ONE game topples everyone and that is Jagged Alliance 2 for me it came not in 1999 but when the russian localization was finished in 2001 and since then nothing comes close to the raw experience and Turn Based Strategy aspect like this Best Flawed Masterpiece of all time!!!

  29. Lettmon on January 13, 2021 at 1:25 am

I love Commandos (1998) but I could never get into the second game no matter how many times and how hard I tried.

This was a fun video. I enjoyed the classic star wars; battlefront games as well.

  33. Mouse Man on January 13, 2021 at 1:29 am

YSN, have you played the Gravity Rush games? They’re not from the 00s but I was just curious. They happen to be some of my favorite games of the previous decade but only so many people really talk about it.

  34. Michirin on January 13, 2021 at 1:31 am

My 2000s gaming experience mostly boils down to GBA and Wii cuz that’s all I had…
Anyway, some of my favourite games from the decade are (in no particular order):
Super Mario Galaxy and Sunshine, the Warioware games (namely Inc. and Smooth Moves), Iridion II, the Densetsu no Stafy GBA games, Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch: Pichi Pichitto Live Start, Capcom Vs. SNK 2, Mother 3, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure, Mario Party Advance (no, seriously), Castlevania The Adventure Rebirth, the Summon Night Swordcraft Story games, the New Super Mario Bros. games, Zelda Minish Cap…

It’s worth noting that this list isn’t including remakes and re-releases
