Inverse Garage Sale Finds: Selling Excess Computers and Failing at it
Today I tried to sell off some excess computers and computer related equipment during our community garage sale. I failed miserably, I could not even get people to take the hardware off my hands for free.
I really did expect to sell most of the computers, people were driving buy and slowing down, however few people actually got out of their cars to look. This is surprising, as when I hunt for computers at garage sales, all of the computers are usually sold an hour or two after the sales start.

To clarify, my yard sale was part of our community yard sale which was advertised in the paper and online. Additionally, I also advertised my sale online (craigslist, yardsalesearch, and our FB page).

Here in Brazil I can not even have a 775 ddr2 card to use I am thinking of buying a 1366 card and a xeon 5670 16gb and use my gtx 660 video card I know that comes bottleneck but will be temporary for now.

I love your channel and I’m basically into the exact type of tinkering with budget, old, obscure, etc. PCs.

If you need to offload PCs, look around in your area for "scrap yards". they will often Pay you for old computer parts like motherboards, memory, hard drives and power supplies. They might give you $1-2 for an entire computer tower, $1 a pound for motherboards, $7 a pound for RAM, 15 cents a pound for power supplies and so on.
At least that way you could get maybe $1-5 back for each computer by recycling it.

Where do you live?! I would have come and got some stuff! It ‘failed’ because you didn’t post any signs (1 that fell down). And you only posted it next to the sale, instead of many spread evenly in proper places. Also list for sale on eBay, letgo, and craigslist. AND you’re forgetting the most important factor – time. It takes time to find amazing electronics deals, and sell them. You could’ve stored it all in a rented storage space if you really needed the space – while having the stored items listed for sale – and also having the extra space!
