How to notify an airport you'll be flying drones nearby
A quick tutorial on how to find your radial and distance from an airport and how to find the number to call to notify the airport manager or tower. FAA regs require you to notify the airport tower or manager whenever you are flying within 5 miles of an airport.
This particular airport has class E airspace. If and only if you passed the part 107 exam you would not have to call this airport. The 5 miles thing does not apply to commercial pilots. The important thing to note is that this class E airspace (not all) starts at 700 feet. Drones can legally only go to 399 feet. So a commercial pilot would be well within his or her legal means on flying in the G class airspace under the E class.

Mine does not display my radial because my distance is about 2.2 and theres no room for the radial to show, how can I get the radial in this situation?

You can buy a walkie talkie to talk to the tower from "Sporty’s Pilot" online.
Then you can talk to the tower of your intentions just like the pilots do when flying around the airport.
I can not believe the ignorance elected official made silly things so complicated.
waaaay complicated. Easier to download the B4UFLY app on ios and Android which will give you the distance that you are from the nearest airport/s. Google the airport names or go to SkyVector and go to airports at the top, put in the airport name in search bar and it will give you the airport info, including the nearby airports and the Ownership information which includes the Manager. If you live close to airports i would print out all of the info for the nearby airports and contact all the Managers to see what there guidelines are and to build a relationship so that you can fly as often as you may want. Can you quote to me what part of 107 states notification of airport, particularly the "within 5 mile" statute everyone keeps talking about?
I haven’t found it, in fact, what I find is NO NOTIFICATION REQUIRED if airport is not controlled airspace (Class B, C, D, or "to surface" E) Section 107, Part 5.8.1 even states you *can operate near or even at the airport without notification* as long as it doesn’t disturb airport functions. The airport you used in your example is uncontrolled, Class G airspace, up to 700′ AGL, and wouldn’t require notification if I’m reading the rules correctly.
