The Best Phones for Rooting [2018]

Why the OnePlus 5T Tops Our List of the Best Rooting Phones

In this video, I’ll be talking about the best phones for rooting as we head into 2018. The phone that topped our list was none other than the OnePlus 5T.

Other phones that made the top 5 were the first-gen Pixel, the Moto G5 Plus, the LG G6, and the Huawei Mate 9. You may notice that some of these aren’t the absolute latest models, and that’s because we held off recommending phones like the Pixel 2 as a result of their yet-to-be-determined development support.

We’ll revisit this list in the future, at which point you may see some newer models make it in — that is, if their dev community starts picking up.

If you’re wondering why there’s no Pixel 2, LG V30, etc., we left these off the list because their development community hasn’t really taken off yet. We’ll revisit in a few months, hopefully ROM and kernel devs are active for those devices by then!

You guys do realise that OnePlus had several and I am saying SEVERAL security issues where privat data of consumers, starting with their credit card information, continuing with personal information (like their address, birthday etc.) and ending with passwords for their accounts (Google etc.) and their Wifi was leaked to hackers and used to make bank withdrawls and so on. Even though you can install a custom ROM once you have rooted the phone I would never get in business that cares so less about the privat data of their customers. Best wishes, Adrian

I need some help, when I try to use kimcartoon.me and I touch anything (it’s on a tablet btw) I get redirected by the Deloton dot com site, I never installed any third party apps and the deloton redirect only appears on that one site. Is this bad? Is my device and data in danger?

The OnePlus 5T is no longer for sale in N.A. I’m thinking of buying a OnePlus 6. Is that just as good for rooting as the OnePlus 5T? Or not so much? If not, can anyone recommend a really good phone for rooting that is currently on the market? Thank you so much!
