I completely agree that Aerospace is a fantastic degree, and I would definitely say that it has an edge over Mechanical, contrary to popular belief- here’s why.
Firstly, you can definitely work as a Mechanical engineer with an Aerospace bachelor/masters as it is literally "rocket science", where the highest level of maths and quantitative skills are necessary, which goes against what some people claim, albeit true at times.
Moreover, you study so much stuff in detail, all the way from Materials structures to aerodynamics and so many modules that encompass most of what is studied in MechEng, so it is totally not a specialist route, but still has tons of content to cover.
Although not many statistics show this, out of the anecdotal experience and asking professionals this question of "Aerospace vs Mechanical", the latter is definitely losing its sleight as employers are not looking for "broad strokes" people, and finally, if you’re wishing to pursue the finance route or other routes that just utilise quantitative skills gained, Aerospace will make you more employable as more of the course is high-level maths based.
Is it true that Electrical Engineers must be somewhat proficient in code? I do not know the truth to this statement. I am genuinely curious. If so, what exactly are some examples of this stuff they may need to code?

Coming from electrical engineering, I advise anyone to NOT go into computer science. An engineering degree will give you the tools to solve any problems in life in the most efficient way. A computer science will give you a good salary but you won’t have the skills to think on higher level. This means you will most likely be stuck in a programmer role or analyst role for many years while the engineer will move up the ranks 2x faster. Not only the engineer will move up ranks, but the skills can be translated to almost any business since its problem solving and system design at very high level. A computer science guy will have a much harder time to fill that gap in terms of skill set. Computer science guy will become Tech Lead, the engineer guy will become Director. Choose your path.

Whilst I love that you are suggesting against following advices from people like Shane, I was disappointed by two of your videos re: points about chemical engineering and engineers, which I will refer to as ChE and ChEs, respectively, hereafter.
1. ChE is more than just O&G and P&I. Yes, you can go into these two disciplines, but ChE is much more than that—pharmaceuticals, food, consumer products, battery and energy storage, materials, combustions, accelerators, polymers, minerals, semiconductors, synthetic biology, environmental. Those are just few of the areas ChEs work in. I won’t argue which is the broadest engineering major (definitely ChE duh XD) but ChE is definitely one of the broadest. Different universities just have different foci. Some will focus on O&G and P&I, some will focus on process, some will focus on biotechnology, etc.
2. The one labelled as ChE jobs was based on the misconception that ChE = O&G. Again, point 1 that it isn’t the case.
3. Process engineering IS ChE. Pharmaceuticals IS ChE. Jobs in these areas are highly dominated by ChEs. Why? Because ChE is more about large scales and streams than it is chemistry. Chemists are the ones who tend to be doing small scales.
4. The high number of people having low grades in ChE can be oversimplified into three things: (1) people who think that ChE is chemistry. NO, it is not; (2) people think that it is easy money. NO, it is not. ㄱㅁ(ChE = O&G); (3) ChE is difficult (Let’s not talk about which is the most difficult engineering major because that is undoubtedly ChE XD).
5. ChEs who can’t get jobs straight from understand are usually one of two oversimplified things: (1) they do not actually have experience into the field they are applying; (2) their experiences are not aligned to the field they are applying. These two often happen in ChE because of point 1 and 4—ChE is not what people think it is.
Since you are also an engineer, I hope you don’t become one of those people who, as you said, talk about things they don’t understand about engineering.

Hey seasoned, 27 year Engineer here……… there’s lots and lots of Engineering and "technical" jobs that don’t ask for a specific discipline — just " BS in Engineering or related field." It’s what you do in your career and method of getting that "foot in the door" early that matters. Trust me……. in the workplace, the degree will get you in the door, but nobody gives a crap about what "field" of Engineering you came from — as long as you are proficient in the job. Regardless of discipline, the principles and problem solving methodology that you’ll acquire in school will transfer to your career and the workplace.
My dad did chem e at university of Michigan and is a consultant now. I think it was more of a degree for him to prove that he was a hard worker and smart rather than to actually do chemical engineering

I know I want to do either Mechanical engineering or Electrical engineering and Im looking to get either a Mechanical engineering degree with electrical engineering related classes as electives or Electrical engineering with mechanical engineering related classes as electives. I feel like Chemical Engineering gets a bad rep because it’s so hard and Chemical Engineering positions are harder to define. However, I feel like it’s one of the few majors that encompasses many different industries that ChemEs can go into. I work in the flexible packaging industry while I have friends who went into water desalinization, others are in Pharma, some in Petroleum and surprisingly a lot of people I graduated with work in computer processing and semiconductors. ChemE’s can go for Environmental Engineering jobs, Petroleum Engineering and even Materials engineering jobs but the same can’t be said for the others. Finally, I think Electrical Engineering should probably be first. It’s the hardest major in my opinion but it’s also a major that allows you to work in different fields like Energy, automotive and most importantly in computer design and processing. An Electrical Eng can easily fit into Computer Engineering positions if they better their coding skills but the same can’t be said for Computer Engineers. I think I personally gravitate more towards the majors that can encompass many different industries while still being well paid rather than constricting majors where there is not as much mobility in all industries. Great video nonetheless explaining your own opinion.

Just wanted to say and highlight something’s he said on electrical engineering although there is coding to an extent it’s not as heavy as he explained. The coding is more coding like classes are required for the major and are rather elective you can choose to take like for example verilog which is basically HDL of your circuit/board.
Personally I didn’t know any coding before going into the major at all. Although I had to take a C class as well as an assembly class for the major but and had to learn matlab which is like a coding like calculator but it’s basic C and is pretty easy to use. The only hard coding class would have to be assembly for me so don’t let the coding part steer you away electrical engineering itself is soo broad almost as much as mechanical

Engineer here: So, I personally wouldn’t get too caught up in which tract you should choose. I studied Chemical Engineer and Paper Science Engineering at NCSU (Go PACK!). When I was at an internship though, I got exposed the the process control side of things (PLC, DCS, historians, networking, OPCs, etc.) and I thought it was fabulous. Now I’m a full-blown controls engineer, which is typically a field dominated by electrical engineers.
I think more important that just getting an engineering degree is to secure an internship, do research with a professor, create prototypes, perform experiments. Do something that shows that you are well-rounded and put in more than the minimum effort. Believe in yourself, and "sell your brand" well.
