Honorable mention to the more recent Mortal Kombat games. Though this list consists more of "suggestive" content in games than violence, I think a few parents would be shocked and appalled seeing some of the slow mo bones/jaws broken moments during a fight as well as the fatalities while say playing in the bus, train, etc.

Ive played some of these in public, senran kagura, dantes, & south park at my gym, work… hell even at a clothing optional beach.
Yakuza the only games I ever played that weren’t English translated and I was okay with that.
