Best Induction Cooktops for 2021
Best Induction Cooktops for 2021
Induction has become more popular over time for its quick response and low simmer. There is a host of reasons to buy an induction cooktop.
Of course, every brand manufactures an induction cooktop, and they all look the same. So which induction cooktop do you consider?
In this video, you will learn how induction works, its many benefits especially if you live in Massachusetts, and the 5 best induction cooktops to consider from Beko, KitchenAid, JennAir, Thermador, and Bosch Benchmark.
Then we will also cover a few problems with induction that you should know before you buy, as well as reliability for every brand.
Induction is by far the fastest heat and offers the lowest possible simmer. Gas will extinguish itself at low temperatures. Because the glass surface does not heat up.
It’s also the easiest to clean. Food doesn’t bake on like electric and gas cooktops.
Induction is also the most child safe as well because the magnets in induction can only be activated with metal and can’t be accidentally turned on. As we said the surface does not heat up like an electric or a gas burner so there is less chance of scolding.
Induction cooktops are reliable as a product. However, they are not easy to repair, so make absolutely certain, your choice can be fixed in your area.

Have you ever evaluate Frigidaire?
What are the thoughts on GE cooktops?
In your video you site the Bosch NIT8669UC and state it has "Flex Induction". This is not correct, as only the Benchmark series has the Flex Induction technology.
Curious, as a Miele & Wolf authorized retailer, why you did not include these products? Appears maybe you were just comparing 30” units? We’ve been considering the Miele 42” and both Thermador & Wolf 36”. Likely the Miele since my spouse likes their steam oven but curious your thoughts on reliability and performance of the 3 models.
Thank you very much for the video! I just have a question about a two-burner induction cooktop. What are the best (good) options in terms of features, quality, and reliability? Thank you very much!
How can you find one that has downdraft? Want to replace my electric cooktop that has downdraft but no hood….
I don’t live in your area but I’ve watched several of your videos. Thank you for making these.
Thanks for the video. I had an electric cooktop in my former home, and it cracked, not from anything dropping on it, it just cracked and I had to replace it. It also was very easily scratched. How durable are the glass tops of the induction cooktops nowadays? Do they scratch easily and crack?
Awesome video… This is the best review of induction cooktops….hands down…. there is very little information online comparing any of these models….
An awesome video! We have a 30 year old Jenn-Air stove top unit. The electric circular elements are to the outside of a grill and wood cutting block in the middle. The entire unit is 47 ". Can you recommend any comparable units available on the market…Thank you…Jan
“Induction is the most child-safe as well.”
And safest for the elderly, and the most ADA compliant, imho.
I had the same idea as Bosch 15 years ago. I’m silly for not making an attempt.
I appreciate your videos. They have been so helpful. Why did you not include Gaggenau in this video?
How does Miele and Wolf inductions cooktops compare to these?
Miele and Wolf produce the best induction cooktops. A “best” list without those 2 brands is incomplete.
Thank you. Very helpful. Do these units have cooling fans which make noise? If so, can you tell me which are the most quiet. SONE ratings would be helpful. Thank you.
I’m definitely interested in induction cook tops. I would consider the Wi-Fi ability a liability, not an asset. A friend just had a high end house built. The oven manufacturer had to download a new firmware in order to turn off the oven (versus tripping the breaker to get it to turn off).
I for one do not want a manufacturer to be able to brick my appliances remotely.
Where is your Miele KM 7999 FL got that one myself and is perfect
I got an induction cooktop (KitchenAid) in 2013. It is a game changer. At first I was afraid of it… stupid, but true. But after I went to a friend’s house and her electric stove to 10 MINUTES to boil an 8 quart pot of water, I knew I wouldn’t go back. And, unlike either electric or gas, I can wipe around my pot or pan while it’s cooking and not get burned – the top around the pan doesn’t get hot at all. Only UNDER the pan gets hot because the pot makes the cooktop hot not the other way around. Mind blowing, huh? Sadly, I dropped a very large bottle of olive oil on it and cracked it. It still works but eventually it will fall apart because of the weight of the pots, so I need to do something about it sooner than later: I wonder if I can just replace the glass or do I have to replace the whole thing?
Since most cooking is done with one or even 2 burners, we’re planning on a small cooktop and portables for the occasional larger or thanksgiving meal. We’re going to wire dedicated single outlets for the portables. We think this will make a clean looking kitchen.
is there a down draft induction range?
What’s cheaper to use, gas or induction? and please give a full answer if you are able.
Do you recommend the Cafe induction cooktop? It seems to have the most intuitive controls.
Good info, but the loud background music is annoying as hell. I really don’t get why people keep doing that in their videos where they’re trying to convey a message or information towards their viewers. Makes no damn sense to me.
Excellent resource. Thankyou.
Great info! It’s so rare to see detailed tips and reviews of cooktops! Can you please do a video comparing/reviewing induction cooktops with integrated downdraft? Cheers!
Any opinions on the Wolf Induction cooktop? Is is good at the price point? I didn’t see it listed (unless it didnt make the top 5)
Using an induction for more than 8 years. Never will change. The best type for cooktops. Only requires a little time to get used to it. Absolutely worth it!!! Much better than gas too.
Do I need ventilation? I live the look of not having a vent hood above the stove top.
I really appreciate all of your reviews; we’re researching appliances for a new home and these are very helpful.
Like another commenter, I do not live in your area yet your videos have helped me buy appliances. Four years ago we remodeled our kitchen and chose Thermador Appliances. I have the Thermador Freedom cooktop and have NEVER had any issues with it. I highly recommend Thermador even though it is very expensive as we have yet had any service calls on our appliances. Thank you for your informative video series as they are most helpful.
