You re engineer and you re using your channel to praise apple?
Engineer doing reviews for iphones? Strange

You sound like an apple fanatic your english is not fluent.
Your opinion about windows laptops is doubtful.

Engineer using 2014 laptop? Do you work for aerospace and cant afford a new laptop is your company too poor?

Honestly I dont believe you. many engineers use dell and lenovo laptops and many can run several task at once.

Mate you love apple and you hate windows it shows you re not sincere. About that dell laptop.
What is an engineer doing with a 2014 laptop?

Would you be able to run most engineering programmes on the m1 chips? (Since windows doesn’t seem to be available on them yet ). Thank you

I’m not sure how it works in other countries but realistically, any computer is fine for an engineer. If your work is more complicated than MS office, your workplace/uni will usually provide a computer/computer lab for you. My mother is a civil engineer working for a local government and she doesn’t even own a pc herself. I recently bought an old mbp retina as my laptop died. I can still do my excel based work andremote into the school computers for more complicated software (RORB, Hec-Ras etc).

Tbh i think windows is the better option since you can find all the softwares u need because i had a MacBook pro but It didn’t support Creo and other softwares! Ik download Windows on my mac is an option but it’s too slow! What do you think?

I’m going into computer engineering and am currently looking for a laptop with similar specs. Do you suggest the MacBook Air M1 16/512 or should I look into a windows laptop? If so, which laptop?

You are a brave soul to hang on to that Dell Inspiron 3537 for that long. Good Work. I bet you extracted every bit of penny from the actual cost of that laptop.

Macs overheat and cant run 60% of engineering programs, buying a mac for engineering when you need to run solidworks and more programs is nonsense

Can I use MacBook Pro for Manufacturing Engineering ?

  25. moni sha on March 24, 2022 at 6:27 pm

Can a Mac ever make it to a mechanical engineer’s desk who wants a single machine to draw 3D, runs simulation, make a presentation about the results on a beautiful machine?

  27. dinithi lakna on March 24, 2022 at 6:29 pm

I bought M1 for my engineering works. I virtualized linux and windows using parellel and most of the intel softwares are working fine. But some x64 apps are not working in windows virtual. Linux ok for the moments. I hope windows will release a it’s new version to support this m1 chip soon. M1 is great, I run multiple heavy programmes once and it’s still running cool which is really crazy. Most of my software works but u can’t use it as the only laptop since it doesn’t run many software in arm windows. I use a another windows laptop to do my works since M1 is not supported to some softwares. But it’s worth buying and I recomend it to many people

Is the new imac good for mechanical engineers?

  35. Andrei Ruiz on March 24, 2022 at 6:36 pm

omg i also have lines in my old laptop lol

  36. Mendeleev Vich on March 24, 2022 at 6:38 pm

Unbelievable. Bad Advice. The Macbook air overheat easily. And Half of the engineering software you’ll be using can only be run by widows (ex Soliworks). DELL precision, lenovo thinkpad p15s mobile station, the Surface book 3 (with dedicated GPU) are the best Laptops for engineers. I am a mechanical/Aeropaspe engineer (recent Grad).

  38. Feraas Al-Najjar on March 24, 2022 at 6:42 pm

Have you considered the Asus Zephyrus G14 or the Asus ROG flow x13

I’m an ME student and I’m planning on buying a laptop too with similar criteria

As a computer science student for a price range of 1000-1500 usd. The M1 MacBook Air is the only choice. It’s is absolutely peerless.
