These are the types of things that I do not like purchasing from a big box store – I will go to a local dealer/small business and purchase the appliance and have them deliver and install…. well worth the extra cost if there even is one

  2. a2cryss on November 28, 2020 at 6:10 pm

I got a Samsung dishwasher and Whirlpool clothes washer and steam dryer from Lowers clearance all were normally each in the $800 range and I got each in the $200 range. The first dishwasher did not power on and I cleaned some detergent off of the control board under the door and it started working but Lowes let me get a better model clearance one for the same price. Dishwasher has been working since 2014 and the Whirlpools since 2015

Washer and dryer 20 years old. Looking at a new one and was told by the associate not to expect the new one to hold up more than 5 years. Still using the old one.

  4. Twisted Feature on November 28, 2020 at 6:12 pm

I will never step foot in a Lowe’s or buy any of there products they are criminal plain and simple and over all useless

  5. Jimmy Shiflett on November 28, 2020 at 6:13 pm

I had issues with a ceiling fan that was never resolved. I was treated poorly by store associates. Will never shop there again.

New appliances suck, and Lowe’s sucks too. The only thing I buy there is nails.

This is what happens when Americans are at the end of the supply chains from China, Korea, or Vietnam. Jets will be dropping from American skies after China puts Boeing to bed.

Yeah the Lowe’s Outlet almost got me for a scratch and dent washer and dryer for $1200 including delivery but I didn’t go for it. I bought more reliable stuff off of an app on android second hand.🗽

My same comment from the first video: Lowe’s is trash. I might have taken a good Sharpie out of my pocket and written, "BROKEN! SCAM!" on the machine, right there on the sales floor.

Hey Handyman…..Can you and I talk about a bathroom remodel and closet remodel? I was wanting to turn this into a DIY project. Wanted to get your feedback

  13. Paul L on November 28, 2020 at 6:22 pm

You should never mix sheets with anything else when you wash nor when you dry, ofcourse, only if you do not want to be frustrated with your appliances.

  14. tpalmen on November 28, 2020 at 6:23 pm

Your definitely not alone..I tried returning a call to lowes about some wood I was having delivered and it took 58 minutes to get someone to answer. I was shocked. The phone tree just takes you in circles.

Samsung = TV, cell phone, speakers….

    Maytag = washer, dryer, fridge

Just because samsung decided to make a washer…..doesn’t necessarily mean they are suddenly experts in building a washer that will run well and for years.

This is a company that went from Exporting food, to selling insurance to Running amusement parks and you expect them to provide a product they just start producing And then run perfectly??

They have only been making washers for five years. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out a You don’t buy a Product from a company that is trying to build a machine they have little experience in manufacturing.

Buy new from a company that knows what they are doing. Maytag, whirlpool, or Kenmore.

  17. Dennis Grant on November 28, 2020 at 6:28 pm

Lowes Service does not even answer the phone.

  18. Shmilu2 on November 28, 2020 at 6:29 pm

I worked for Lowes and they do have all returned appliances checked by an outside service. They do put them back out on the floor but it is up to the ASM to say how much to sell it for. The pricing is done by the RTM clerk as far as the tag that is made. The secret is if you are not being taken care of at the store level ask for the manager on duty and make them give you customer care because they can overide the store.

  19. Lil Ol Me on November 28, 2020 at 6:29 pm

GE…. says it all. I sell used washers & dryers. I am in a very large metropolitan area and I do not know anyone that works on to sell used GE washers and dryers. I know where you can buy a couple of truck loads for probably $15 each because no one will buy them. GE is junk and very complicated to work on. Samsung is good….. all the way up until it isn’t. Once it breaks….. get a different one, do not repair it.

  20. Robert Kennedy on November 28, 2020 at 6:30 pm

If he admitted that have the owners insurance company go after them. They live for it. It is what I do. I’d get ten grand in exchange for an NDA. Let me write your insurance.

  21. Buzzin Bee on November 28, 2020 at 6:33 pm

People think Sally is a cat because she’s on the counter like a cat. Lol. Shame about Lowe’s deception.

  22. Matthew Barker on November 28, 2020 at 6:34 pm

This is why you buy whirlpool

  23. Steven Corzine on November 28, 2020 at 6:34 pm

The real crime is they sold u a samsung 😆. And u might wanna secure your drain hose if ur worried about water damage. That thing pops out and your laundry room is done for.

  24. Robert Kennedy on November 28, 2020 at 6:35 pm

I’d ask them what repairs they did, get a low level employee to incriminate them.

  27. Sid Allen on November 28, 2020 at 6:39 pm

I think you said the washer was upstairs, if so it should be installed in a safety drain pan per code, with a drain to the outside of the home.

  28. muse 77 on November 28, 2020 at 6:40 pm

🔵😟I also had a bad experience with Lowe’s when I purchased a washer/dryer from their store 6 years ago. The time I had trying to correct their numerous mistakes was unbelievable. I paid $2000 & I hounded them until they made it right. Apparently they are still screwing customers. Can’t trust any of these stores, and worst thing is that their products are junk. I’ll never buy alliances from them again.

  29. Joshua Graham on November 28, 2020 at 6:41 pm

So true, agreed 100 percent. I won’t buy another modern appliance for my house, whether Lowe’s, Home Depot, or any big box store you can think of. My stepdad purchased a central air unit for the attic as of 2009, and we have gone through repairs with it. I even have owned LG appliances and they have given me problems too, big time. Our LG steam washer starting leaking as of 2019, and it took forever to clean my mom’s bedspread. To my opinion, the LG front load washer was not even made to wash heavy or bulky loads like this, which when the washer and dryer breaks, I will look for a vintage washer and dryer set (whether it’s an RCA whirlpool, vintage Sears Kenmore, GE filter flo, vintage Speed Queen, etc.). Our LG fridge had developed issues with the ice maker. We had a Maytag dishwasher that broke after a couple of years, and we replaced our broken maytag with a Kenmore dishwasher, we bought from sears a few years ago, which I am pretty sure it won’t last even close to 20 years. We also have a vintage 1988 Kelvinator No-Frost Refrigerator, a 1979 GE water heater, a 1979 central air conditioning unit in my basement, a 1978 Montgomery Wards (Model 27) Dehumidifier, and a 1985-86 Montgomery ward frost control dehumidifier, and these vintage appliances give me no trouble to use, and were so well-built (35+ years old and still working without a problem). When my LG kitchen appliances, that’s it, back to my vintage appliances (whether from the 70’s up to the 80’s), and I will look for them at an estate sale, or second hand appliance store, or flea market.

I shopped Lowes for years until I bought a appliance from them. Didnt go back for years, worse experience than yours. Ive gone back to Lowes again this year just because I actually HATE going to Home Depot because most of the employees are rude and dont know anything. Lowes is cleaner and better parking lots. I just wont buy an appliance from them.

  33. David Anderson on November 28, 2020 at 6:44 pm

I no longer shop at Lowes. I bought a new Troy Built lawn mower from the Lowes, That is only 1 mile away from my house. After only 6 months the engine blew while I was cutting my back yard. Lowes didn’t give me any hassle bringing it back for repairs, which then was sent to Cincinnati, Ohio for the repair, i live Kentucky. They try to say that I had no choice but to buy a new engine for $350.00. The lawn mower has a 2 year manufacturing warranty out of the box, and because I didn’t buy the extended warranty they tried to charge me to the service. I got upset and said they that they were not going to anything from me and I told them I would never buy another Troy Built ever again. And 3 weeks later they sent the busted lawn mower back to me in parts and parts of it were missing. Now I only deal with Home Depot which is 7 miles from my house. I also had to bring that lawn mower I bought from Home Depot back in for repairs and ended getting another new lawn mover to replace the one I bought. Home Depot never gave me any problems at all about having to replace my lawn mower. Worth driving the 7 miles to buy things than to be ripped of from Lowes.

  34. R Brow on November 28, 2020 at 6:47 pm

Yes that is Lowe’s process. I was in charge of that for over 10 years.

  35. pepe gunner on November 28, 2020 at 6:51 pm

Lowes corporation dosen’t care. Lowes is going out of business soon and they are just trying to grab as much money as they can before going bankrupt.

  36. Vicious 1 on November 28, 2020 at 6:53 pm

Lmao 🤣 buddy you have no idea how this wheel runs with lowes and their appliances. Mo machine is scrapped unless its so badly damaged that its basically been crushed like a soda can. Also lowes employees do not come to house for install or Uninstall they hire 3rd party companies for that so the guy who told you it was getting scrapped didnt know what he was talking about. Also any appliances returned to lowes gets a service ticket and they have factory certified repair men like myself come and do the repairs. Once it is complete they discount it from its original rate and put it out for resale which even though its being resold it comes with a 1 year manufacturer warranty which is in my opinion better then the lowes extended service contract. Alot of people don’t know that lowes has a $300 repair limit on their service contract which means if you need a repair and said repair is going to cost more than $300 then they won’t repair it instead they may refund you a portion of the total cost depending on how long you had the machine. Manufacturer warranties do not have a limit and will be repaired regardless Of the cost. Its not a SCAM its good BUSINESS! And it helps people who cannot afford brand new out of the box machines.

  37. Paul Ross on November 28, 2020 at 6:53 pm

If you’re in Canada…buy from Leon’s or the Brick…They’ll back you up. Forget the American giants on this matter.

  38. Luza Guzman on November 28, 2020 at 6:54 pm

Same happened to me. My landlord got the refrigerator mark down and it did not work properly. When cleaning it after moving in I found evidence of use (food remains on drawers). Then after two weeks Ice blocked vents in the freezer not cooling in the refrigerator side spoiled food for two months after technician came to repair it two times. At the end whirlpool changed the computer! Ahhh and of course the records on Whirlpool showed it has been sold and returned to Lowes months before!

Samsung o no you should do your research on Samsung .😂

  40. Debra Frakes on November 28, 2020 at 6:54 pm

Lowes was just busted by a tv station

  41. Eddie Oxedine on November 28, 2020 at 6:55 pm

I would take this video to a lawyer and show them the INCOMPETENT equipment and people from Lowe’s. Make them pay for everything. Five or six thousand dollars should cover your labor.

  42. Colonel Mark Julifs on November 28, 2020 at 6:57 pm

My mom purchased a scratch and dent Samsung washer from LOWES in January. It was delivered, my dad connected it and water shot everywhere in the kitchen. Repair woman came out, and said the washer had no internal plumbing wise. Samsung said that they will not honor the warranty because the machine had been used. She had it 2 months and was unable to use it 1 time.
Samsung tracked the serial number and found out it had been purchased at LOWES then returned within 30 days. She had to go back and forth on the phone as you did. She said maybe a total of 20 hours dealing with this issue.
Samsung finally agreed to repair the washer for $400.

She told them she’ll just return it to the store.

LOWES gave her a brand new washer (not scratch and dent) for the price she’d paid for the returned 1.

I told her they only did it because it was cheaper than getting sued for selling a used washer as a new scratch and dent.

Now I’m curious as to if they put the 1 she returned back on the floor. We were told they were going to scrap it.

    LOWES Florence, Kentucky

  44. Arnold Bogarin on November 28, 2020 at 6:58 pm

Wow I’m in disbelief. Never will I go to Lowe’s . Wish they learn their lesson the hard way

  45. Anthony on November 28, 2020 at 7:01 pm

Is there an update to this story?

  46. David Means on November 28, 2020 at 7:02 pm

I would setup a dehumidifier in the laundry room. Pull up the flooring and base boards so it can try maybe use a space heater to help the evaporation process.

  47. Thought Forge on November 28, 2020 at 7:03 pm

Lowes has a process called RTM, if the thing isnt repairable then it goes in the scrap pile in the back of a store. If its repairable it is done offsite and then sent back to sell. Their phone system sucks, everything gets routed through customer service or operators both are busy constantly. If you call direct to the department it will ring forever. Only way to get ahold of someone quick is to ask for MOD or ASM then they think your affiliated with Lowe’s.

  48. Old man Goat on November 28, 2020 at 7:03 pm

My self I had no problems with Lowes

  49. Mike Smith on November 28, 2020 at 7:05 pm

The is very very bad publicity for Lowes. I would guess the OEM would decline the damage claim since the machine was repaired perhaps by an unauthorized repairman, possibly by a Lowes employee. I cant believe that big name companies would do this to ordinary working people to wreck their lives. Lowes sold a previously failed, questionable product only to fail again. Lowes will have to pay for this claim since they tampered with the machine. Looks like you’ll need a lawyer and be on top of statutes of limitations etc. Please keep us posted on outcome. Thanks.

  50. Jim Gilman on November 28, 2020 at 7:06 pm

The scam is so much worse than you know. Both Lowe’s and Home Depot, and probably everywhere else, all do the same thing. Ever noticed those labels that say do not return to store, call this number? The reason they do that is because if you return something to the store, Lowes will just get a credit from the manufacturers for the wholesale price of the item. If you call the number it may just cost them a part, If you bring it back to the store it costs them the price of the machine. Never mind the complete PIA that it is to remove appliances, water heaters, boilers, entire showers, whatever it is. So when you return that machine, Lowes gives you a new one, and then gets basically a free replacement. The manufacturer doesn’t want them back, it’s not worth the paperwork, man hours or the shipping to deal with it. So they put it back out on the floor at a supposedly reduced price, and whatever money they get is free money, 100% profit.
I once bought a French patio door that was $1300 for $150, because I knew how it worked.
I knew that if a door comes in damaged, and it’s in the store, it wasn’t shipped on the manufacturers truck, or they would have refused it and sent it back. And since there were dozens of doors and windows that hadn’t need put away yet, I knew not only had it just arrived damaged, I knew it came LTL(common carrier, less than truckload). What’s that mean, well the carrier isn’t going back to the manufacturer, so they’re not going to take it, the freight company eats the cost, or their insurance will depending on the price. So I knew for a fact that the door came in damaged, and Lowe’s didn’t have a dime into it. All I had to do was tell them what I’m willing to pay, and that I could take it immediately, they don’t want it there, or the hassle of it.
I knew that Lowe’s, even if they damaged it there, will charge back the manufacturer, and the manufacturer will dutifully eat it because Lowe’s is the second biggest distributor of their product, who wouldn’t?
