Thank you so much for this very informative video! I’m so sorry for your lost..be safe stay healthy bless you and your family

I’m still a student my budget is low, I need to buy a new laptop for heavy photoshop editing for my art and for working online. I’ve been considering getting a Huawei Matebook D14, ryzen 7 3700U, 8gb ram, 100% sRGB but the screen brightness looks a bit off,

a gaming laptop msi gf63 i5, 8gb ram, but the ntsc is at 45% and the low priced one I saw uses HDD instead of SSD so I didn’t want it, I’m considering asus vivobook 15, bc of the reviews and it’s always in the “budget laptop for photoshop” I just can’t decide bc every time I look further into the reviews ppl wouldn’t suggest long time use and heavy editing for these laptops and would suggest laptops that has higher price and I can’t afford

if you have a suggestion at a price ranged of $895 below please let me know

You asked about a video going into storage, redundancy, etc… let me be really clear.. BRING 👏🏻 IT 👏🏻 ON 👏🏻 BROTHER!!! Please share all the things!! If you are feeling froggy and want to take it up a notch… file structure and your workflow as far as what you keep, how long, and any archiving schedule/workflow would be KILLER!!

This was brilliant! Thanks so much. How do you learn and understand what’s the newest model now and coming? Do you go to the manufactures website or is there a specific site that tells you about the latest and greatest to come?

My friend has told me not to buy yet because next year they are bringing out all these new technologies. How does he even learn about what’s to come? But my laptop has died. Luckily I specked it up, as it was a custom gaming laptop, but I really had no clue what I was doing. 3 SSD hd, 32gb ram etc. It was so fast and handled layered heavy photoshop files really well as that’s how I create my artwork. But now I understand even better. Is there any issue working off a fast external SSD HD?

And very sorry for your loses, important message 👍🏼

This is such a wonderful video, a ton of information sure, but clearly explained in a way that even someone as tech unsophisticated as me can understand. I am currently looking at getting a new computer to do more with photoshop and you have helped tremendously.
Also my deepest condolences to you and your wife, I much appreciate your plea to be safe.

Also, what do you think of the AMD Radeon Pro 560X in mac, I don’t know how to compare it to NVIDIA RTX?
Is there anything at a similar level to RTX that I can look for instead.

I’m an intermediate using photoshop for illustration and I just don’t know what to buy. I don’t know if this will be a career but I’d like to keep doing graphic drawing and stay up to date. So confused sorry such a long question(s)

I’ve been a designer for 20+ years and never used MAC. And I’ve NEVER paid for Photoshop. Always relied on the Pirate Bay.

I’m so sorry for your loss. There are no words that can take away your wife’s pain at losing her mom. I can only say that the pain does ease, even if it never goes away.

Hi David, I’m sure many viewers will find your video useful in helping decide on a new PC. We did lots of testing using Pugetbench for PS and LR using Ram from 32-128gb, single and twin Xeon CPU’s of various speeds, cores and threads and video cards ranging from a GTX660 to a 2080. What we found was 32gb was plenty memory, utilization for our testing never went over 68% Video card made very little difference as long as it met the minimum requirements. Spending $500 more on a video card gave minimal improvement. We found 8 threads and 16 cores to perform optimally but CPU speed made a noticeable difference. The other thing we found was the faster the storage the better the performance, so SSD over HDD. However if you use DxO photo lab or Topaz plug-ins like their AI sharpener throw as much of everything as you can afford at the build. DxO in particular uses the GPU as well as maxing out all of the cores to 100% Finally reducing temperature improved performance, especially with an Nvidia GPU. We did a blind test with a photographer who uses PS regularly and he chose a 2012 Dell T5600 with twin Xeons, 16 cores, 32 threads, 32gb and a Gtx 1070 over an i9, 32gb, Gtx 2080. Both running PS off a 1tb SSD. Adobe are still a way behind others when it comes to GPU utilization. If a PS user likes to play games as well as edit then a better GPU will make a big difference.

I wanted to buy Dell precision workstation 5820 xeon m.2 4tb 64gb of RAM Nvidia Rtx 5000 for photoshop and premier pro, because I currently use Microsoft surface book2 with GTX 1060 it work fine rendering 10-20 minutes video with little effect added, but whenever working on longer video up to 2 hours with so many effects it keeps crashing giving so many errors code messages in different attempts.
    what’s you advice?
