The Best 30-Inch Gas Ranges for 2021 – Ratings / Reviews / Prices

In this video, you will learn about the best 30 inch all-gas professional ranges, their features, reliability, and well and drawbacks so you can match the best range for your particular cooking style. As a bonus, I will show you the real difference between dual fuel and all-gas pro ranges.

Dual fuel is a gas stovetop and electric oven versus an all-gas product It is usually $1,000 to $2,000 more than a gas range. The benefit of an electric oven is a dryer, more consistent heat. It’s better for baking.

Gas is a moister heat than electric, and it’s preferable for roasting. However, gas is also exceptional for broiling. If you love to broil, a gas infrared broiler is intense direct heat and is the best you can buy for your home versus an electric broiler.

It’s not as simple as just fuel type when comparing the ranges.

Self-cleaning is standard on all dual fuel ranges, yet only JennAir and Miele have self-cleaning in all gas. Wolf, Hestan, and Miele will also add features on their dual fuel. Wolf adds a timer, self-cleaning, added BTU on the burners, and twin convection. Their new unit to be released later this year will have WIFI, Gourmet settings and an interactive screen as well.

Miele’s 30-inch dual fuel range adds their MasterChef controls, so the range calculates time and temperature automatically based on your inputs. It also has steam assist in baking bread.

Hestan has a cool temperature control plus self-cleaning on their dual fuel.

Choosing gas or dual fuel would depend on whether you bake and self-clean versus roast and broil. Then you have to assess each brands added dual fuel features.

All of the ranges featured in this video are a great, functional addition to your kitchen. They are all strong brands with different strengths and some drawbacks. You need to choose what’s right for you.

Is it the least expensive yet most technology driven brand JennAir? Perhaps you like the cleanability of the Thermador Star Burner or the ability to simmer on all Wolf three stage burners? Miele offers a ton of features and is the most cleanable, yet Hestan and BlueStar have a ton of power and interesting convection systems. As I said, there isn’t one best range.

Remember, all gas ranges will have an ignitor issue, so always check to see who can service your appliances in your area.

One issue that I can see, the 30" Thermador Ranges don’t have wi-fi so it seems silly to list it as a feature in the best 30" range guide.

The duel fuel rangers used to be advertised as more controlled baking temperatures. They also have more expensive parts to break, as in control boards. I assume gas ovens need to add air into the box since gas needs oxygen to burn. This is also why they bake dryer. Moisture is a by product of burning natural gas. A gas oven should be more dependable over the years. There is a reason he only gives out service stats for the first year. I also believe but may be wrong, that commercial gas ovens used to have a 2 stage burner. This would have two flame settings to keep a more consistantly heat.

We recently looked at a Fulgor Milano Sofia, which seemed to have a nice array of features – high output burners, true (dual) convection oven, easy closing door, cool door glass. Any input compared to the ones here?

I find self clean to be a completely useless feature, I clean my blue star oven with easy off in 20 minutes without using a ton of energy and heating up the kitchen. I thought I would for sure miss having self clean as I’ve had in previous less expensive ranges but it really hasn’t been an issue at all. There are many great ranges but the reason I chose blue star is for it’s simplicity and closest resemblance to a true professional range.
