She’s totally ignoring the one thing about the brain that video games do: addiction. By constantly triggering huge amounts of dopamine rewards, video games become addictive to the point where it destroys the real life of people. Yes games in general are great for the brain, to some extent. But everything is about balance, and it’s not only a chocolate-coated broccoli I’m speaking about here, but rather the will of the gamer to use this tool in a responsible way.

Why do you need to develop a new game for the effects when mainstream action games are doing the trick? Sweat out a ranked fps and your brain will be sour

  7. man who ate your mom and dad and dog on November 13, 2021 at 10:56 am

I have played for 11 hours in video games

  8. Stevie Darling on November 13, 2021 at 10:56 am

I work in a hospital where I get regular complaints that patients can’t figure out how to use the elevator button to get up to my lab, or even that “the button was stolen” because it’s just a single round metal button in the usual place with no words or up/down triangles. I always think these people are somehow getting through real life when they wouldn’t be able to clear a tutorial level in any video game.

I love video games. But I only play them for 3 hours every 2 weeks. It’s not games that are the problem, it’s the way the system works.

  18. Buddhaneo Siddhananda on November 13, 2021 at 11:13 am

Gaming is actually one of the best things you can do for your health…

Video games are something that uses human nature to consume. Some scholars say that video games are beneficial. This is like letting your child take drugs. Of course, it is beneficial because the brain is highly concentrated at that time and can process greater information. Insidious American Expert

Parents: “turn off the game and do something more constructive”

Also parents: “watching news complaining about things they can’t control”

  33. COLONEL GUTSY on November 13, 2021 at 11:25 am

Video games are the reason I don’t have a wife and kids by now. Video games are the main reason I’m an antisocial loser.
This lady doesn’t know what is actually really bad about video games.
Ok sure maybe I’m faster than a regular bloke, maybe I can see more details, but I don’t have a social skill to save my life.

Gaming is definitely good during developmental stages of life, in controlled amounts.
The point is that most grown-up dedicated gamers possibly don’t do anything productive most of the time, they are like hyper skilled lab rats, or like guinea pigs on wheels. What’s the point of developing boundary level expertise in detecting, tracking objects which possibly they won’t apply anywhere in their life, can’t they join the military instead, or play some challenging outdoor games ? Atleast their body will be in a good shape while having good focus, and reaction time. Why developing the mind at the cost of harming the body?
Possibly in real life they can express amazing range of ruthless vocabulary and emotions but can be thrashed up easily by an adolescent when it comes to a fight.

  39. Nathan Hankins on November 13, 2021 at 11:32 am

  44. Ponk 80 on November 13, 2021 at 11:37 am

It’s basically just another way of escapism, a lot of that is going on now a days, people trying to escape from their life, maybe it’s time we take a look a society, and how it is making everyone so damn depressed and mentally sick, no one seems to be long term happy anymore, so people feed off dopamine hits, that will give them a quick high for a shot amount of time.

  45. Thundageon on November 13, 2021 at 11:37 am

I showed this to my parents and my mom agreed and my dad who depises gaming kept his mouth shut and I was like "Yeah, that’s what I thought"
