First let’s take a look at a player recently linked to Man Utd, Amadou Haidara. Haidara is a true Red Bull midfielder that would slot into Manchester United’s midfield. Energy and work rate are his standout attributes but he’s aso technically very strong with an excellent level of tactical intelligence. He uses this tactical intelligence to offer balance to his side, often moving into less threatening positions to create holes in the opposition’s shape. But if he isn’t tracked and receives, his crisp short passing allows him to either keep the ball moving and recycle possession or play good, line breaking passes into advanced teammates.

Next up we’ll take a look at a true box to box midfielder in Franck Kessie. The AC Milan player could come at a bargain with his contract expiring in 2022. He’s very disciplined in possession and sticks to his task. Despite possessing a good passing range, Kessie generally keeps things short and simple, moving the ball around and giving good control to his side, but when the chance comes, he’s got the talent to flip the tempo and play neat line breaking passes or long switches of play. The midfielder is averaging over four progressive passes per 90 in Serie A this season but is still completing nearly 92% of his passes.

Next up we look at one of the standout players in the current Ajax side, Edson Alvarez.
I’ve watched a lot of Ten Hag’s Ajax this season and Alvarez gets my seal of approval, a really great player in the making. Standing at just under 6 foot 2, Alvarez is a surprisingly elegant footballer. He’s got a very similar skill set to Rodri. He’s more mobile than the City man but his strengths lie in his technical ability and reading of the game. He’s integral to Ten Hag’s fluid system as he needs to be ready to provide cover to anywhere on the pitch with players interchanging positions. Despite the huge task, Alvarez excels and almost always seems to know where he’s needed most and seems to move before the ball needs regaining, which says a lot about his reading of the play.

A CDM, CM and CB
Bellingham, Tielemans and Rafinha are 3 players Liverpool are linked with. Liverpool do need a midfielder with an eye for goal. we haven’t had one since Wijnaldum left in the summer. Harvey Elliott was gonna be that man, but he’s out for the season, so I’m hoping we sign one of these.
I’m more interested in who we should get rid of. Plenty of deadwood right now at United!
United should approach this Jan transfer window sensibly , efficient way to approach would be –
1.Focusing on SELLing or LOAN OUT unnecessary/under performing squad players (Jones, Mata, Matic, Lingard, Martial and Lindelof)
2. United Lacks in 3 positions considering the new system implemented by Ralf Ragnick – (CDM,RB and CB)
Best options would be – CDM -> Convert AWB into ball winner who can win the ball effortlessly, while add a versatile player E.Alvarez
RB -> Even though Dalot plays well under Ralf at times he gets exposed by top wingers. In order to solve this issue United should look for a experienced RB (Trippier – 6 months more in the contract)
CB -> United clearly needs an experienced CB to guide the defence similar to what Thiago Silva did for Chelsea, ideal player for this role would be Diego Godin (35y) still performs well in Seria A. While getting him, promote Mengi to senior squad so he can learn a lot for Varane/Godin.
3. After JAN transfer United Squad should look like this (4-2-2-2)
FWS – Rashford/ Ronaldo/ Cavani/ Mason/ Elanga
CAMs (two 10’s) – Bruno/Pogba/Sancho/Donny
CMS (Pivot) – Fred/Scott
CDMS (Pivot) – E.Alvarez /AWB
CB’s – Varane/ D.Godin/Bailly/Maguire/Mengi
LB’s – Shaw/Telles
R’B’s – K.Trippier /Dalot
GK’s – De gea/ Deano/ Heaton
(If possible promote few more Academy talents into the squad !!)
4. Summer United should focus on getting Erling Haalnad when Cavani leaves !!

Kalvin Phiilps is a Leeds lad, he is never going to switch to man United because of his family and the rivalry.. i expect a bit more background check when you Pick out players or just shorten the list to actual relevant players like the two first players you mentioned. After yesterday’s game Man utd should probably spend their energy getting a replacement for mcguire. It is clear that the other players don’t trust him as the the last man. Everybody rushes out to provide him more "support" exposing their line. Bellingham would be an excellent signing, but we have to ask ourselves why didn’t he come when he was in Birmingham and has the situation really changed since then for him to prompt a move.
In this video you talked about more of a advanced six / Box to Box mid mids which obviously United needs but I think a proper number six is needed who can protect the 2 cbs , everyone is talking about these sets of player who are good Box mid with great workrate but I want a pure CDM some one like matic / rodri / Fabiano
Interesting video, but I have to say there are some things off about the Edson Alvarez section.
1. Ajax simply don’t sell starters during the winter window, so to put an Ajax starter here is just wishful thinking.
2. Alvarez is NOT the kind of player that you are describing, his technical ability is nowhere near the level you are attributing him with. He is constantly slowing the tempo, is often avoided as a pass option and if he attempts to do more advanced passes (such as a through ball or cross pass) it’s 50/50 if it will be close enough to actual considered "on target".
He is a centre-back playing a destroyer role in midfield not a technical dm. And this is not that hard to see if you have watched Ajax as you say you have.

I wouldn’t replace Fred for anyone (only concern is managers asking him to play deep)…also the fact we can invest money on a better (cb,lb,rb) Given his improvement in offensive game….
His defensive game was never in doubt,his Workrate was not even in question.
Proves how overhated Fred has become he’s acc putting up decent stats especially compared to his teammates

Fred and McTominey are not good enough to play for Manchester United. Any of these midfielders, Rice, Phillips, Bellingham, the lad from Leipsig would be a dramatic improvement. The reason United lack cohesion is because Fred and McTominey are incapable of linking up the play between defence and attack. They offer no authority or creativity.
